- Hidas Berk- not the largest mountain in Hungary (the second after Kekes), but what a beautiful one it is! Its volcanic origin gives it a special flavor, as a result of which the mountain is replete with steep, rugged slopes. Climbing Hidas Berk is not easy, but hiking, however, is very developed here. The mountain is especially good in winter, in a white fluffy hat.
There are more than 1000 caves in this mountain range, including Banyash-barlang and Istvan-lapa - the deepest in Hungary, the archaeologically important Seleta cave bath. Bukk is also famous for its ski slopes located around the city of Bankut. The highest point of Bukka is Mount Istallos-ke (959 m), the third highest in Hungary. It is easily accessible from Silvasvarad via tourist trail several hundred meters long.
