Find out where to ski in August. Five places to ski in summer Where to ski in summer

It often happens that in the winter at work rush work, and break out to ski resort there is simply no way. And a short vacation does not allow spending it in the winter, if there is an opportunity to go to the sea in the summer. Therefore, choosing from two pleasures, one has to give up one thing.

But do not give in to the delusion that skiing is not available in summer: after all, many of us simply do not know that there are many places where you can go skiing in spring and even summer!

Where to go skiing in summer in Russia

Elbrus resorts (North Caucasus).
These remarkable sites include Mount Elbrus (maximum elevation 3550 m) and Cheget (3800 m). On the slopes of Elbrus 6 ski slopes of varying difficulty with lifts and lighting, and Cheget generally has the most difficult ski slopes in Russia (only 15 equipped slopes). Hotels with excellent service are also available.

Abzakovo ( Ural mountains).
The ski resort on the picturesque slopes of Krykty-Tau, not far from Magnitogorsk, has 13 wonderful equipped ski slopes with unusual relief, sharp turns (well-groomed and safe). True, most of the lifts are drag-tows, only one is a chairlift. But it is possible to rent a snowmobile.

The trails are mostly uncomplicated - ideal for beginners and less confident skiers. Among the tracks there are slalom and giant slalom tracks.
Snow on most slopes is natural, but there are artificial snow systems, so in the hottest summer the slopes are ready to delight you.

Adjigardak (Ural Mountains, Chelyabinsk Region).
The resort is located near the town of Asha - just 1.5 km. Adjigardak is one of the most comfortable ski resorts in terms of temperature: here the temperature rarely drops below -18 degrees, and usually about -10 degrees, which is ideal for good snow without crust, adhesion and ice crust.
There are 9 tracks of different directions on Adjigardak: for both beginners and “pros”. In the recreation area there is a snow park, training jumps and a cross-country skiing track, but the lifts are only drag-type, which is not very convenient.

Sheregesh (Western Siberia).
The green mountain has a maximum height of only 1270 m, but it offers a magnificent view, and the climate itself is truly unique: the peaks are white until May, and when the temperature in May rises to +25 degrees, the slopes of the mountains are still covered with snow and are real a paradise for snowboarders and skiers. This is where you can sunbathe in the snow: usually these are mutually exclusive concepts.
Sherengash has 6 long multi-level tracks with unexpected turns and natural jumps.
The service is at a good level, the pine trees make the air filled with oxygen, and the prices do not "bite": why is not it a great place to stay?

Krasnaya Polyana (Sochi).
This resort can be called the most important ski resort in the country because it was here that the Olympic Games were held. Krasnaya Polyana combines several separate, independent resorts: Rosa Khutor, Alpika Service, Gornaya Karusel and Gazprom.
The infrastructure of each resort is superbly developed (the Olympics had its influence): lifts, hotels, multi-level equipped tracks - everything is at a height. The most false tracks are at the very top mountain range, with natural uneven terrain and natural jumps. Olympic slopes of high difficulty are located in the Rosa Khutor resort: you can also go down them. There are also tracks for beginners, and there are many of them too.
The disadvantages of Krasnaya Polyana are prices: the resorts of Sochi are among the most expensive in Russia.

Dombay ( Caucasus mountains, Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia).
The holiday season with good snow ends here in April, but there are no artificial snowmaking systems here, so summer skiing will not work, but spring skiing is at an altitude. Before the trip, it is worth studying the reviews of only skaters and the weather forecast, since the climate here is rather unstable, and there are baldness of the slopes.
Mount Mussa-Achitara (maximum altitude - 3200 m) is equipped with many trails, most of which are suitable for children, beginners and quiet skiing (trails from the southwestern slopes). The lower slopes are more difficult and winding, and some of the peaks can only be reached by helicopter. It will not be easy even for professionals here: Mussa-Achitara offers a whole range of natural differences and obstacles.

Alpine skiing in the summer on "The intricacies of tourism"

Every spring, skiers of all stripes and levels of skiing in despair grab their heads, because the "dead season" is approaching, when the sweet, dear, slippery snow melts, an even green grass cover falls on the mountains, and the skis must be removed for at least 6 months. However, not everything is so bad: in fact, our amazing planet The earth is ready to offer fans of dashing slopes excellent snow-covered resorts all year round. All you need is to look further beyond the familiar "horizon" of countries and slopes where you usually skated. After all, as soon as the season ends in the Northern Hemisphere, it's time to update your ski suit in the Southern Hemisphere. (And this is not to mention the gated complexes with artificial ski slopes.)

So, let's take a look at the most popular ski resorts in the country where you can ski in hot summer.

North America

Of course North America- this is not the Southern Hemisphere, but this part of the world also has its own tidbit, whose heights allow you to ride here right up to the beginning of July. And his name is Mammoth Mountain in California. In addition to him, pay attention to the resorts of Colorado, where, depending on the weather and the amount of snow that fell over the winter, the season is extended until the end of June.

In the Canadian town of Whistler Blackcomb, thanks to the glacier, you can ride until August!

Europe

Old Europe is not ready to let her tourists go and is also in a hurry to please skiers with glaciers. For example, the slopes in the Austrian resorts of Stubai, Tux, Kaprun and Sölden are open 365 days a year. In Switzerland, it is worth checking the weather in the resorts of Zermatt, Verbier and Saas-Fee, it is likely that skiing here will be possible even in June. Italy has five summer areas, but only Passo Stelvio is open year-round.

Australia and New Zealand- a paradise for summer "ski". Almost 40 first-class resorts open their doors exactly at the moment when all of Europe begins to mourn the outgoing sparkling season.

South America and Asia

More than thirty comfortable resorts are waiting for their guests in Argentina and Chile, and there is a lot of snow here and of excellent quality. Here are just a couple of resorts that are worthy of attention in the hot summer months for all fans of skiing and "boarding" - these are Portillo in Chile, Las Lenhas and Cerro Castor in Argentina.

Oddly enough, Asia also has its own ski resorts, and not only covered with artificial snow. For example, in the Kazakhstani Chimbulak in summer you can safely ride on natural snow (from June to October the lifts can be closed, but there is a lot of snow on the glaciers nearby for freeriders). Another worthy summer skiing option is the Gassan Glacier Resort in Japan.

Australia and New Zealand

Australia and New Zealand are a summer ski paradise. Almost 40 first-class resorts open their doors exactly at the moment when all of Europe begins to mourn the outgoing sparkling season. Most of the resorts are located in the Australian state of New South Wales: these are Thredbo and Perisher Blue, in the state of Victoria it is worth paying attention to Mountain Buller and Falls Creek.

The largest resort here is Perisher Blue, which begins its season at the beginning of June with the inclusion of its lifts, of which there are more than 50 for a minute.

In New Zealand, the season usually starts two to three weeks later than in Australia, but the painful waiting is worth it - local tracks are distinguished by a large difference in altitude and more interesting terrain. That, of course, will be of interest to confident skiers in the first place. The New Zealand resorts also have disadvantages - fewer lifts and less developed infrastructure (however, do not even hope to be left without an après-ski or a cozy hotel - in this regard, everything here is “five-plus”). The most popular resort in New Zealand is Wacapapa with twenty lifts.

The ski season in the northern hemisphere ended a long time ago, but there are several glacial ski areas that either remain open year-round or work for a while during the summer months. Here we will tell about them.

In total, 10 European and Russian resorts are participating in the review.

Tired of the heat? Then let's go to the bottom with us! We are ready to dive into the world of ancient glaciers to depths of only a little less than four kilometers. In our periscope are already visible eternal ice on the tops of the mountains. Get ready for the dive!

Information about glaciers is fascinating. We highly recommend getting at least a basic understanding of glaciers on Wikipedia. If this will make an indelible impression on you too (as on me), then in the search engines you can continue to study this natural miracle - there is a lot of information.

Glaciers are a natural wonder!

That is worth at least the South American glacier Perito Moreno. Its movement (speed of about 2 meters per day) is visible to the naked eye. Watch the video and try to keep your composure (I think it won't work):

But back to skiing.

Glaciers (mountain) are located high above sea level, and even in summer the temperature at night remains below zero. So in the morning you will be waiting for the frozen tracks. But by lunchtime the snow will get wet and heavy, it will become more difficult to ride, so the best time for pleasure - early in the morning.

Almost all glacier skiing regions are small - a maximum of 20 km of pistes - mostly red and blue. It's better to forget about off-piste skiing: snowfalls are rare, so it's unlikely to catch fresh snow, in addition, cracks can be hidden under it.

Hot skiing in Austria

Austria has more glacier ski areas open in summer than any other country. but all year round you can frolic only on glaciers Hintertux(not far from the beloved Mayerhofen) and Dachstein-Dachstein Glacier which provide less varied skiing opportunities, there are only four kilometers of pistes. From other glacial zones, trails of the Mölltall glacier are open for skiing at the end of June.

On the slopes of all three regions, you can have time to ride before the end of the summer, but keep in mind: in each zone there is only one tow lift waiting for you, although it is quite long.

How to get there and how much does it cost

Hmmm ... you are not going to fly to Norway specifically in order to ride in the summer. alpine skiing with one towing lift?

Summer skiing on Elbrus

You can go skiing and snowboarding in summer not only in Europe. We have Elbrus! And you don't need a visa.

Thanks to the opening of the third stage of a modern ski lift, skiing is now possible here all year round. By the way: it is the new lift that will take you to a height of 3847 m (Gara-Bashi station). This is higher than in Zermatt!

Winter in the central part of our country is relatively short - you get up for the first time on skis at the end of November, and in April take off your skis and start preparing for summer.

What should a skier do in the summer so that both the benefits and the skills acquired during the winter are not forgotten? First of all, it is necessary to put all the ski equipment in full order - skis, shoes, poles, ski suits. They need to be cleaned of dust and dirt, wiped thoroughly, dried, ventilated. Skis for the summer are impregnated with tar or resin, and boots - with special ointment or fish oil.

The process of impregnating skis is simple - a thin layer of grease is applied to the sliding surface of the skis. This is best done with a cloth or brush. In order for the tree to better absorb the lubricant, the ski is preheated either on a gas stove or with a blowtorch. The grease is applied in several steps until the entire surface is the same dark brown color. After impregnation, the skis are dried, and then, tying them together and placing a spacer between them, they are removed to a dark but dry place. It is best to store them by hanging them on a nail.

Shoes, free from dust, are carefully examined to see if they are intact. If necessary, they fix it, and then grease it. It is better to warm up a special waterproof ointment or fish oil before use. During the lubrication process, which continues until the skin absorbs the fat, you need to make sure that the ointment is evenly applied to all areas. The outsole also needs to be lubricated. It is good to wipe it several times with the remains of ordinary sunflower oil. This type of lubricant keeps the sole well. Shoes prepared for summer storage are tied together with laces and then hung in a dry and dark place.

In the middle of summer, skis and boots should be inspected and, if necessary, re-soaked with lubricant. In cases where there is no tar or tar, they can be replaced with ski ointment.

The ski poles are also checked. They look at the condition of the rings, pins, belts. If any part has become unusable, it is either repaired or replaced with a new one. Dust and dirt are wiped off the sticks, leather and metal parts are greased, and then the sticks are also hung on a nail. So they will not interfere with anyone, and, moreover, in this state, the sticks will not twist. Bamboo sticks should not be placed in a very dry place, otherwise they may crack and deteriorate.

In a certain place you need to collect ski wax, warm socks, mittens and a hat.

So, all the equipment is in full order, and now you can seriously think about what is the best thing for a skier to do in the summer.

Let's start with morning exercises. It is absolutely required throughout the year. If desired, you can change the set of exercises every week. But this is optional. It is important every time to give work to the muscles of the whole body, and especially the muscles of the abdomen and legs. For this purpose, make various bends, squats on one and two legs, snuggling on the arms. The abdominal muscles are strengthened mainly with exercises that give them a tangible load. These include all types of exercises performed from a supine position and associated with lifting up the legs and trunk.

To strengthen the arms, exercise with dumbbells. If you don't have them, you can replace them. They do it like this: pass a rope through the block, at the end of which a small bag of sand or stones is suspended (they lift the load on the block with one or both hands). This device is also convenient because you can take it with you on walks. Choose appropriate place for hanging the block, and sand or pebbles are poured into the bag. After exercising, the block is removed, sand and pebbles are poured out of the bag and the bag is put back into a suitcase or backpack.

Summer offers ample opportunities for hiking trips, for fishing trips, for swimming. All this is very useful for skiers. Experienced skiers never take a break between winter and summer. In the spring, after the end of the competition season, they continue skiing. V sunny days such walks are especially pleasant and rewarding. Snow still lingers at this time, especially in the forest, and the air is unusually clean. During these walks, many skiers are engaged in, as they say in a sports environment, practicing individual skiing techniques.

When all the snow has melted, it's time to cross, or, in other words, cross-country running. This type of athletics is accessible and useful to everyone. Both adults and schoolchildren, swimmers and football players, gymnasts and athletes, wrestlers and weightlifters, cyclists and rowers are engaged in it.

Running on rough terrain, in a forest or in a park, where the air is clean from dust and other impurities, improves health and is very beneficial for the body, it develops not only the muscles of the legs, but also the muscles of the whole body. People who regularly do cross-country races have excellent lung development, the activity of the heart and blood vessels is strengthened. Anyone who runs cross-country in spring or autumn can do any kind of sport - his body is well prepared for such activities.

Cross-country shoes are convenient in that any terrain is suitable for them. Before starting to run, crossmen do several gymnastic exercises. They are about the same as in morning exercises: tilting the body forward and to the sides, stretching, swinging arms and legs, squats, various jumps. This takes about 10-12 minutes. Then the run begins. It differs from running on a treadmill in a variety of movements. The changing profile of the terrain allows you to run at an even pace, then rush downhill or climb a steep hill, or even just walk at a regular pace.

Running rhythm will change depending on conditions. In one case, he is calm, in the other impetuous. Cross-country is not only about continuous running: it can alternate with brisk walking, which is very appropriate when you need to calm your breathing.

To begin with, the duration of the cross, including the time for gymnastic exercises, should be about an hour. Gradually, the duration is increased to two or more hours. At the end of the run, you do not need to dress immediately - you must first of all calm your breathing. In spring and autumn, crosses are held once or twice a week, in summer one is enough. During the cross-country race, you do not need to run to fatigue - a slight fatigue is enough.

We stopped at crosses in such detail for the reason that this is one of the most accessible and most necessary exercises. For a beginner skier, cross-country running will be very useful. He will develop him physically and give him many necessary skills, which will then come in handy during winter skiing.

The skier needs strong legs and strong arms. They are developed with all kinds of exercises. Sawing and splitting of wood is very popular among skiers. Experienced athletes can also find special devices for the development of strength - one of them consists of a block and a load. On this projectile, you can lift a load by pulling the ropes with both hands at once, as with a simultaneous move, or alternately with your right and left hands.

They also exercise with a load. It is inconvenient to carry a kettlebell or barbell with you. In this case, do so. They take an oblong, small-sized bag of canvas or canvas and, when they come to the place where the lesson is scheduled to be held, they pour sand, earth or pebbles into the bag. The bag is tied, and you get a projectile with which you can do a wide variety of exercises, and not only alone, but also with friends.

The sandbag is lifted with one and two hands. Raised with a leg, placing the bag on the thigh. The bag is thrown in front of you and behind your back, thrown like a ball to each other. The classes are over, the contents are poured out of the bag and the bag is put into a suitcase or backpack until the next class.

We have mentioned just a few of the exercises that are available to everyone. But there are a lot of them. Skiers go in for bicycling or canoeing and pleasure boats. Track and field athletics is also popular among skiers, only they do it not for performances in competitions, but for the development of endurance and speed. The closer the end of summer is, the more clearly the signs of the approaching autumn become, and behind it the shadow of winter is visible. You will not meet her as a beginner, but an experienced athlete who had a good summer and, full of strength and energy, is waiting for the first snow to go hiking on a fresh track.

During the summer months, you have become much stronger. Your muscles are harder. You can easily walk more than a dozen kilometers with a backpack on your shoulders.

And yet, before each new season, skiers are anxious. They start training even before the snow, and crosses again take the main place in them. But now they are held more often two, three, or even four times a week. You don't need so many crosses, but it's still good to increase their number to two per week, not counting classes on the day off.

In the classroom, a large place is given to the so-called special exercises. You've already done them while exercising or in pre-cross exercises. However, now, in the fall, the number of repetitions of each of them is increasing. More and more load should be given to the legs. Squats on one and two legs should be done not only more often, but also with a load, that is, putting some kind of weight on your shoulders, for example, a bag of sand.

Skiers pay so much attention to strengthening their legs for the reason that the main work during skiing falls on their feet and the better they are prepared for this, the more complete ski outings will be at the beginning of winter.

There are special exercises for the hands. In the fall, exercises are more often done with a load or with the use of so-called rubber shock absorbers. They are made from elastic rubber, for example from old bicycle or car cameras. The thickness of the rubber is determined by its elasticity and is selected depending on the strength of the practitioner. The use of shock absorbers is simple - the middle or end of a rubber band or tube is firmly attached to a post, fence, tree, to a door handle, or to a steam heater, and then the exercises begin. The advantage of rubber shock absorbers is that they require effort not only when they are stretched, but also when they are released.

Much of the fall training takes place outdoors; in this regard, you need to take care of clothing. Many skiers use their winter suits for practice. They protect them well from wind and dampness and are comfortable, as they do not restrict movement. Ski boots, in turn, keep your feet dry. But it's still better to have separate shoes for the fall.

Old shoes with a small heel are quite suitable for this purpose.

Mittens and warm socks and a winter hat complete the skier's outfit for fall activities.

In autumn, classes can be held in any park, on the territory of the stadium, and on weekends it is best to go somewhere closer to the place of winter walks. It is also necessary to use the gym, where it is convenient to perform the entire preliminary part of each lesson - gymnastic exercises.

The duration of autumn activities increases slightly as winter approaches, reaching up to an hour or more.

Everyone who plays sports or exercises is obliged to undergo a medical examination and inquire about their state of health. You should maintain constant communication with a doctor, consult with him, it is absolutely necessary to seek medical help at the slightest ailment.

As soon as the first snow appears, you can already get up on your skis and try to see if you have forgotten the skills that so much time was spent on learning the previous winter. When the snow has already fallen out enough, that is, it will cover the ground so that you can go on skis without risking peeling them off the ground, they begin training.

One of our strongest skiers advises to carry out two or three trainings a week at the beginning of winter. The duration of each of them is 40-50 minutes. You need to start your workout with skiing on a good track for 5-7 minutes. After that, it is useful to walk for 10-15 minutes in deep snow. This walking strengthens the muscles and ligaments of the legs well.

During the first workouts, it is especially important to pay attention to the correct and free movement with alternating and simultaneous strokes. Trying to correctly perform each technique, you need to avoid unnecessary stress. The ability to relax muscles while running not only makes it easier to move, but also allows you to use your strength more economically. Before starting classes, it is good to do a little preparation, perform gymnastic exercises already known to you. After the first trainings, which will show how the skills lost over the summer have recovered, you can slightly change the content of the classes, increasing both the length of the distance traveled and the pace of walking.

It is good to include in your classes three or four runs with acceleration lasting from 30 to 40 minutes, both on deep snow and on a good, rolled track.

On weekends, it is imperative to take long walks. It is advisable to choose a place for walking so that you can walk not only on a flat surface, but also ride down hills. This will allow you to combine a walk with the study of the technique of ascents and descents and the further improvement of all skiing techniques.

The duration of training is gradually increasing and by the middle of winter reaches one and a half hours. After each lesson, it is useful to take a quiet walk. Such walks calm the body after a strenuous run and bring it back to normal.

To check if the preparation is correct, in school section or in a sports club, control competitions are usually held, or, as athletes call them, estimates. Such a test at a distance equal to that expected in the next competition will allow judging the readiness of the young skier.

It is recommended to participate in competitions at least twice a month. Moreover, in the intervals between them, you must definitely train. The plan for each workout can be the same as mentioned above, with the difference that speed runs will take more place in it, and the time for training itself will increase. To gain confidence, you need to participate more often in cross-country skiing, relay races, in school and district competitions. Masters and qualified skiers of junior sports categories try to train in any weather: in snowfall, in thaw, in icy conditions. A young skier should do the same.

When you watch experienced athletes rushing swiftly down the mountain, you involuntarily admire their dexterity, and sometimes even fearlessness.

To get acquainted with the slalom technique, which we have already talked about, it is necessary for every flat skier.

You need to start your acquaintance with slalom with the simplest. It is often necessary to see how young people themselves arrange competitions that have something in common with slalom: they move along a predetermined path, on which individual bushes or stumps are located in a certain order. And if such a competition is organized on a clean slope, then ski poles, poles or branches are put in the form of obstacles. These fun competition games are of great benefit.

To begin with, you can set yourself the task of driving through one gate, and then their number is increased. The gates are placed at a distance of 5-10 meters from each other. It is somewhat more difficult to bend around the gate or poles on the right or left side. As you master such a descent, the conditions will become more complicated. Even on simple distances, where there are no steep descents, you will not only get pleasure, but also acquire useful skills that will always come in handy.

During the usual descent from the mountain, turns are made by stepping or plowing. In slalom, these turning methods are not always applicable, since you need to make several turns in a row at a high speed in different directions. In these cases, it is recommended to do this: if an athlete descends from a mountain and in front of him is a gate that needs to be rounded, then he should sit down low and immediately go up, without taking his skis from the snow. By this movement, the skis are freed from body weight and it will be easier to move on the snow in the right direction. Having risen, they vigorously turn their shoulders; if you need to turn the skis to the left, the shoulders are also turned in the same direction, while the right shoulder is pushed forward. If you need to; return to the right, then turn the shoulders in the same way, but push the left shoulder forward. Naturally, the skis will not turn their shoulders during movements with their shoulders and you need to be careful to turn them in the right direction in a timely manner.

The turns used by slalomists require practice and confident movement. This, too, can be achieved if you train carefully in the turns on the slopes. In the beginning there may be falls, but they should not be embarrassing. Until you master the turns, practice and practice them on slopes without hemp and unevenness.

Everything that was told about training and skiing is absolutely necessary for the skier to remember.

In our country, the network of sports organizations is expanding every year. Physical culture collectives are organized at schools, institutions, factories and plants, on collective and state farms. Youth sports organizations have been established in almost all republics. It makes sense for you to join one of the collectives of physical education. There you will have good conditions for studying.

Join the ski section. In October and November, the sections begin active preparations for the winter. Each cross attracts more and more people who want to prepare for the winter season. Groups are strictly selected according to their strength. Together with them, it will be interesting and useful for you to start preparing for the winter. After all, you are no longer a "green" beginner who timidly took the first steps on skis not so long ago, but an "old" skier.

In the new season, you have different tasks. Improve the movement techniques you know, learn new ones. Try your hand at the competitions of the school, district, society that you will obviously enter. Watch more experienced athletes, borrow the best from them. Do not be afraid of losing in competition. Always find out the cause of mistakes, and you will succeed better.

You must love skiing, and it will not let you down, remaining a faithful friend for life. Many skiers, former athletes, still continue to devote their free time to this sport. On skis, you can still see the first Russian champion Pavel Afanasyevich Bychkov and the champions of subsequent years Nikolai Maksimovich Vasiliev, Alexander Nikolaevich Nemukhin and other famous athletes. Most of them are already close to 70 years old, but they are still vigorous and glide along the track with enviable ease and confidence.

Where to go skiing in summer? In addition to athletes, this question is asked by many fans of alpine skiing. If you do not take into account the southern hemisphere, where winter comes with the arrival of June, you can try good old Europe. There are many more skiing spots in the Alpine countries.

Glaciers are special ski areas that, like regular pistes, are available for skiing and skiing during the winter season. Moreover, some glaciers are open for skiing all year round. Therefore, it happens that glaciers are called year-round trails. However, in the traditional ski regions of the Alps, the glacier season ends mostly in April-May.

In Western Europe, the term "glacier" is often used to denote ski glaciers, which is gradually taking root in Russian. Initially, a glacier is a mass of snow compressed to an ice crust. Glacier movement is determined by the location of the slope, ice structure, temperature, ice mass, and other factors. Glaciers are the largest reservoirs of fresh water on the planet. Changes in the structure of glaciers have a significant impact on the global climate. In different parts of the Ice Age, it was glaciers that were the main elements of the current natural landscape. Climatic changes in recent years have led to the fact that many glaciers on the planet began to actively melt. Experts fear that the famous glaciers of the Alps may simply disappear in the near future.

So, experts predict the disappearance of a whole group of glaciers in France by 2050, including the glacier Sarenne in the Alps Duez region or glacier Girosse in the ski region. Many glaciers were previously open for skiing throughout the year, but have closed for the summer in the past few years. Opening ski resort on the base of the glacier requires significant financial investments. It's not just about the costs that the owner ski base incurred due to the altitude of the location of the ski area on the glacier. Special control is needed for transport system delivering tourists to the glacier. Cable cars and lifts, the supports of which will be located on the glacier, must be equipped with a constant correction for the speed of the glacier. In order to prevent the glacier from sliding during a particularly hot period, part of the snow and ice from one part of the glacier must be transported to the other, melting half, in order to avoid exposing the ground.

V last years As a result of joint work with scientists in Austria, they have developed a special foil, which in the height of summer "wraps" many famous ski glaciers and thereby save many ski regions from extinction. Alpine skiing in summer on glaciers is a specific skiing that requires special skills. So, in the morning, many glaciers are a continuous ice crust - at night, the snow that has melted during the day freezes. In the afternoon, the snow is getting softer. Therefore, the best skiing in such conditions is usually in the first half of the day, when the ice track gradually thaws, but at the same time remains rigid. A firn forms on the track - a layer of frozen snow, skiing on which is appreciated by some professional skiers and especially fans of extreme alpine skiing.
