Gorki City Apartments, Russia, Krasnaya Polyana - “I live in the Krasnodar region. I know where to relax with us, believe me! A fresh review of the new format of recreation is here!”

Everyone has heard about Krasnaya Polyana, near Sochi, and about Rosa Khutor. But Gorki Gorod, which is located just on the way to Rosa Khutor, is not yet known to all fans beach holiday. Although this place is certainly not interesting for lovers of beaches and sand. Gorki City is a ski resort.

Gorki Gorod is located in the most beautiful and protected places in the Krasnaya Polyana area. Built here modern hotels and apartments, spa centers, restaurants. A developed infrastructure has been created for sports and comfortable rest.

This is not just a ski resort. You can come here not only in the winter season. It is possible to relax and have fun in Gorki Gorod, as well as in Rosa Khutor all year round. And skiing can be a pleasant addition to the overall program, but not the main goal.

All-season and mountain resort Gorki Gorod

Today “Gorki Gorod” is an entire city with a full-fledged infrastructure, where hundreds of thousands of tourists from Russia and abroad vacation throughout the year. Therefore the full name sounds like all-season and mountain resort"Gorki City".

Gorki City is located on four levels:

  • +540m – “Lower City”,
  • +960m – “Upper City”,
  • +1500m and +2200m – cable cars, ski slopes, excursion sites and routes.

The most high point routes - peak Black pyramid Aibga ridge, elevation + 2375m above sea level.

A road and cable car connect the “Lower” and “Upper” levels.

The resort can provide its services to about 10 thousand people at a time. The infrastructure of the resort is described in this article.

Accommodation

The resort has 11 of its own high-class hotels with a total capacity of more than 3,000 rooms and a one-time capacity of 6.5 thousand people. There are also hotels of famous brands Rixos and Marriott here.

In the “Lower City” there are two hotels and the main apart-complexes, sports facilities, SPA complexes, shopping gallery, congress center, restaurants, playgrounds and an indoor water park. Places for entertainment are mainly concentrated in this part of the resort.

"Upper City" appearance very reminiscent of the resort settlements of the Mediterranean. Here you can stay in high-class apartments by choosing one of seven 7 hotels. At +960 m there is also a huge SPA center (9000 square meters). This part of the resort is visited by those who prefer comfort, peace and privacy on vacation.

Project history

The resort in this place began to be created even before the Olympics. It was an administration project Krasnodar region and groups of private investors. It was planned to build ski resort, which is called “Mountain Carousel”.

When it became known that the 2014 Olympics would be held in Sochi, the company managing the complex decided to take on an important mission - the construction of a media village at the resort. This village still exists today. It was here that media representatives lived and worked, telling the whole world about competitions such as skiing, bobsleigh, biathlon, freestyle or ski jumping. The tallest, safest and most expensive ski jump in the world was built here.

It was in Gorki Gorod that the center of sports and cultural life mountain cluster of the 2014 Winter Olympics. And this is no coincidence. The development of the sports and tourist complex “Mountain Carousel” had already begun at that time. It is still the largest ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana. Only here the territory made it possible to build an entire city and provide accommodation for Olympic participants.

Ours didn’t skimp on design either. The French architect Pierre Diener, who became famous for designing the ski facilities of Courchevel, was invited as a consultant.

Mountain Carousel

Those who love snow, skiing and mountains are attracted here, first of all, by the “Mountain Carousel”. Do not confuse Mountain Carousel and Gorki Gorod. It's not the same thing. Gorki Gorod is a resort as a whole, and on its territory there is a complex Mountain Carousel(in a village called Esto-Sadok on the mountain slopes).

Mountain Carousel offers 27 kilometers ski slopes, which, according to snowboarding and skiing enthusiasts, are in no way inferior to European slopes. The trails are located between altitudes from 960 to 1460 meters. Varying in difficulty: " red" And " black», « green" And " blue" That is, there are options for skiing for both experienced and beginner skiers.

Lighted trails have recently opened for evening skiing. The number of snow cannons that I saw on the slopes in Rosa Khutor and here is amazing. I don't know if they all work, but they do. With their help, they solve the problem that Sochi is the southern and coastal part of Russia, and there is actually a problem with snow here. The resort has the longest skiing season - from December to May.

12 chairlifts and gondola lifts deliver skiers to the mountain slopes. Lifting in every area cable car on average up to 15 minutes. The transfer sites are located at an altitude of 960 m, 1459 m and 2200 m. And to get from the launch site (altitude 540 meters) to the farthest point “Circus-3” will take a little more than an hour.

Well, like any resort, ski equipment rental works. There are instructors and master classes for beginners.

Ski pass

The cost of tickets depends on their type (excursion or sports ski passes). There are gradations for students, children, beneficiaries, and also depending on the zone and time of action.

Free ticket provided to children under 6 years of age, disabled children, disabled people of the 1st group, WWII veterans and persons over 75 years of age.

On peak days (from December 26 to January 10): an adult sports daily ski pass costs 2,300 rubles, a children’s (from 6 to 16 years old) – 1,600 rubles, high season(January 11 – March 31): adults – 1800 rubles, children – 1200 rubles.

You can easily find out the cost of ski passes on the official website of the resort.

Gorki City Mall

But enough about skiing. Let's go for a ride, and where to spend time in the evening or in the summer. Both adults and adults with children can have fun at the Gorki City Mall shopping and entertainment center. There are more than 100 attractions for children. For adults trading platforms, night club, bowling, air hockey, digital cinema. There are places to have a tasty snack.

The highlight of the Gorka City Mall is, of course, the Mountain Beach water park located on the roof.

This beach has natural sand, which is even heated in winter. The water park is covered with a transparent roof that allows the sun's rays to pass through. There is a lot of sun here due to the fact that Gorki City is located in the mountains. There is a simulator pool in the water park ocean waves, seven water slides different heights and complexity, a large heated swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a shallow children's pool.

So you can have fun and relax in the Gorki City Mall water park all year round.

Summer holidays at the Gorki Gorod resort

You won’t be able to go skiing in the summer season, but Gorki Gorod still provides plenty of options for active rest in the mountains. Having relaxed enough on the beaches in the Imereti Lowland (Adler), you can devote a day, or maybe more, to the mountains.

For the strong and resilient, you can go conquer “ Rope park", walk or horseback ride along eco-trails, visit relict forests, the Medvezhiy waterfall and other protected areas of nature. You can do yoga in the mountains, go mountain biking down the highway at the Bike Park.

Hotels at Gorki Gorod resort

Hotels, as noted above, in Gorki City are high class. Here are some of them:

Marriott Krasnaya Polyana 5*

Gorki Plaza Hotel 3*

Gorki City Apartments

Rixos Krasnaya Polyana Sochi 5*

Dolina 4*

How to get there?

All resorts in the Krasnaya Polyana area are unique in that they are located a short distance from the sea. Black Sea coast located just 40 kilometers from the peaks of the Caucasus Range.

From Adler you can get to this mountain resort in just half an hour by arriving at the Esto-Sadok station on the Lastochka high-speed train. There is a free bus from the final stop that takes guests to the ski lift. Its route is drawn up taking into account the arrival time of the train.

You can get from the airport to Gorki Gorod by a free shuttle that runs along the route: Gorki Gorod - Airport.

From Adler - by buses 105 and 135, or by transfer with excursion.

Before the season ends, I will write briefly about the issues that interested me personally before the trip (regarding a 4-5 month old baby). This was a test trip from home consisting of me + daughter, grandmother + grandfather. I wanted to test the baby on an airplane, on the road, etc. on a simple and short trip. Well, just change the picture that’s boring me.

Gorki City, an all-season ski resort built for the Olympics in the village of Esto-Sadok (near Krasnaya Polyana). There is a lot of basic information on gorkygorod.ru

You can live at two altitudes - 540m (Lower Hills, hotels and apart-hotels) and 680m (Upper City, more expensive hotels with a touch of luxury). It takes just over 2 hours to fly from Moscow by plane (Aeroflot). Transfer from the airport by car takes 35-40 minutes to Nizhny and another 10 minutes along a gentle serpentine road to the Upper Hills). There is no sea nearby - therefore, minus the crowds of compatriots. There are mountains, stunning views, ski lifts, clean air, sun, doing nothing.
You can swim in pools (Marriott, Gazprom, hotel spa areas, water park in GorkiMall) or take a transfer to Imereti Beach (all paid). But we are not fans of swimming in the Russian Federation and treating rotaviruses, so I didn’t delve deeply.

Initially, I noticed admiration for the apart-hotel City Gorki (540). This is a complex of buildings scattered throughout the Lower City with a very affordable pricing policy. All rooms have well-equipped kitchens and have from 1 to 3 bedrooms. No meals, room cleaning every 4 days - in general, an ordinary apart-hotel.

The pluses are the price tag and the location close to the Mountain Carousel (although everything is close there, so what is there). But I was confused by two things. Firstly, sanitation (they are rarely cleaned and, according to reviews, not very carefully). Secondly, there is a lottery when issuing numbers. My friends rented two equivalent rooms for the same money (kitchen/living room + two bedrooms), and as a result, some got a huge room (more than 100 sqm) with a balcony, and the second got a room like “you open the front door and it runs into the dining table.”

I think the difference is in the length of stay (the first lived for two months, the second for two weeks) and in the ability to download rights (the first downloaded, the second did not care). If the child is older, or the parents are comfortable with the simplicity of life, this is an excellent option for a long stay in the summer for a relative five cents. I think I'll try it next summer.

I didn’t want to participate in lotteries with a baby. But I wanted silence and more coolness. Therefore, in the end I settled on the small Solis Sochi Suites (960m), booked through Booking. A day before departure (as always suddenly in Russia), the hotel called and said that it was actually closed for renovations. But, to the credit of the Solis administration, they offered accommodation in another Solis (Sochi Hotel), at the same 960 meters, with an upgrade to our room with the baby. In general, the replacement turned out to be nice, because Solis Sochi Hotel is located completely away from the action, silence, excellent views, that’s all. And if the air conditioners still worked normally there, there wouldn’t be a price for it))

Among the huge advantages are the view from the balcony of the restaurant (we took it with breakfast and dinner, so as not to rush around with the child in the heat in search of food) and the massage therapist Ivan at the hotel Spa (in the summer, by the way, they have a 30% discount on the price).

It was possible to drive into this mountain, giving the baby to the babodies, endlessly.
Just like sleeping during a massage with Ivan))

The upper town looks like a small European town. And for decoration at the same time. There are so few people there, and everything is new. On weekends, of course, a hacking landing party arrives from below, but they are mostly passing through more high height so that contact can be avoided.

There are more people in Nizhny Gorki, but also in comparison with some Sochi or Adler - one and a half people.
There is a lift with closed cabins between the levels, free for hotel guests on both levels (upon presentation of a room key card). Going higher costs money. And keep in mind that there will be open chair lifts higher up, you need to be careful with children.

There are not very many conditions for strollers at the top, there are continuous stairs, but you can almost always find a detour. We took a yoyo, which was of little use (but partly because the baby did not want to sit quietly in it and tried to get out of it with his head down). Below there are more smooth sidewalks and ramps, of course, but they are also not brilliant.

Now as for the household stuff.
At 540m there is Gorki Mall with a strange selection of shops. From useful - Perekrestok (the range and prices are similar to those in Moscow). There is a pharmacy at the base of the ski lift (540m). At 960m there is also some kind of under-pharmacy with the main categories of goods, but not everything is available (at the Panorama Hotel).

I was very worried about the availability of diapers (my beloved Munya). So, I was able to find Muni in Gorki Gorod only in one place - a small children's store at an altitude of 540 (if you go from the ski lift to Gorki Mall, it will be almost immediately). But everywhere (in pharmacies, in Perekrestok) there are a lot of Merris, Pampers and Liberos. They are, however, noticeably more expensive (I buy Muni in Moscow for 1100 - in Gorki they are 1600 per pack). There are disposable diapers, bottles, toys, swim diapers and even clothes for babies (from size 68, in that same little store with Munya).

At Perekrestok there are mixtures of Nan, Friso, Similac (and a couple of other names), all sorts of purees (usual for the Perekrestok assortment).
In general, if necessary, you can provide a baby with, if not the usual brand, then an analogue, but you will have to overpay a little.

I wrote about a driver with a car seat and an infant carrier here: . If relevant, I can also give you the coordinates for renting a normal infant carrier, just ask. If something else is not clear - similarly)

Overall, it's a good place for summer.

Please study the photos displayed here carefully. The beaches of Imereti Bay have the most paved space and European-level amenities. It's essentially a southern extension of the Olympic Park, which aimed to make foreigners scream "Wow!" in 2014. It is a beautiful! We described all 5 baths here.

Olympic Beach (Radisson Blu Resort - Rosa Khutor)

Riviera under easternmost point radius is divided into two sections (the first is described here, the second lies between “Bogatyr” and Hi-Beach). The place is adjacent to, and named after the last bus stop. The water edge extends in an arc for exactly one kilometer - from the descent to the pontoon of the Global Lounge restaurant. And its width ranges from 25 to 70 m.

Townspeople and visiting holidaymakers are pleasantly surprised by the presence of two staircases - from the stop. “Shayba” and “Fisht”, free entry, locker rooms, a tower of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, sun umbrellas (for rent) and a fun children's playground. There are no pontoons. The depth increases at an average angle, the surface is medium pebble, the water is muddy. The nearest restaurant is Global Lounge. Hotels in the Morskoy residential complex are also available to you.

It is located immediately behind the described location - from the pier opposite the Global Lounge to the border of the elite microdistrict. Nekrasovskoye, where you can stay. Near “Bogatyr” there is an educational “town” “Sirius” and the rest. minibus 100. The length of the coastal edge is 600 m, it extends 8-70 m into the depths of the city, standing out as the narrowest section behind the Global Lounge restaurant, where you can have a snack.

The beach boasts an infrastructure that meets all your needs:

  • wooden walkways;
  • rental of umbrellas and sun loungers;
  • inflatable children's attractions;
  • garbage containers (cleanliness is monitored by employees of the Bogatyr Group of Companies);
  • water slides;
  • beach volleyball courts;
  • locker rooms;
  • summer bar;
  • bike rental;
  • swing.

Another “heroic” “highlight” is the presence of lifebuoys, as well as the smoothest (of all the beaches of Imereti Bay) entry into the muddy water.

Hi Beach! – state farm beach Russia

This stretch of coast awaits you behind the second beach “branch” of the Resort & Congress Center Radisson Blu. Regarding the roadway, this is the first half of Tsimlyanskaya Street (the one that goes to the Adler District Museum).

In fact, this is the embankment of the State Farm Russia quarter. The harbor has the same length as the street - 730 m. The width of this entire structure ranges from 20 to 30 m (High Beach without extensions, no pontoons either).

Bathers appreciate this resort for its clean shore (medium pebbles), smooth entry into the sea and equipment. This refers to the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, sunscreens made of reeds, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (circles, medic, rescuers), changing rooms and showers.

Fans of the water recreational area “Hello, Beach!” live in guest houses and mini-hotels of the Rossiya state farm. Despite the old-fashioned name of the microdistrict, the housing here is quite elite and at the same time relatively inexpensive. You should eat at Height 5642.

As you might have guessed, the seaside location is named after another luxury hotel in Sochi. He monitors order here - cleanliness, safety and quality of leisure for bathers.

“Bridge Resort” starts from the Museum of History of the Adler District (restaurant “Surozh”) and finishes at the dead-end street. Tsimlyanskaya, following the already indicated hotel establishment and residential complex on Uritsky Street (stop “Ekaterininsky kv-l”). From end to beginning, this piece of water area is 600 m with a width of 23-40 m.

The shore is divided into two zones - one has sun loungers and awnings, and the other does not. Democratic. The entry into the water is steep, the pebbles are the same size as those on the neighboring beaches of Nizhneimeretinskaya Bay. And holes begin to appear at the bottom.

Beach of the Catherine Quarter (“Psou”)

If you analyze the photo, the beaches of Imereti Bay at its very end begin to partially go around the “Sovkhoz Rossiya” microdistrict from the east. Once upon a time this place was named after a border reservoir, however, in those days it was not yet such. The piece of Sochi land indicated in the title has a length exactly equal to the southern side of the Ekaterininsky quarter and the wasteland in front of the military unit - only 500 m. And in some fragments it reaches 55 m in width, on average 40 m.

Responses call beach recreation “European”. It's too clean here, and even smoking is prohibited. Those who do not like such rules insert angry reprises, decorated with curses. Many people, for example, are bothered by the barbed wire on top of the iron fence. And some women are embarrassed by the “hungry” looks of the border guards.

Did you like a piece of marina? Check into one of the apartments here. And when it comes to eating, everything is even easier - in front of you are the cafes “La and Bash”, “Vinaigrette” and “Basil”. The nearest stop is “Ekaterininsky Quarter”. All Olympic bus routes run here.

Beaches on the map of Imereti Bay

Like the shore of the village of Nizhneimeretinskaya Bay, the beaches of southernmost Sochi were discussed above. They appeared to replace the wild border shore, where the village of Old Believers and the “Armenian quarter” overlooked. All that remains is to evaluate them all and form your own opinion about the beach amenities. New resort transformed the appearance of the south-eastern edge of the Sochi urban district. This fact is confirmed by numerous reviews of “mattress makers” who came here on vacation. In conclusion, we offer an educational video, enjoy watching.

Imereti resort This is a large landscaped area in the Adler district of Sochi. From the north it is limited by the foothills of the Caucasus, from the south by the Black Sea. This flat place was once covered with swamps and thickets of ocheret. For the 2014 Olympics, the Imereti Lowland was turned into European resort with a decent level of service: the swamps were drained, a modern embankment was built, comfortable pedestrian and bicycle paths were laid. You can come here at any time of the year. Guests are welcomed by both giant hotels and private establishments with a cozy home environment.

The main attractions of the Imereti Lowland:

  • with Olympic infrastructure facilities;
  • Amusement park "Sochi-Park";
  • Beautiful embankment and the most best beaches Sochi.

How to get to the Imereti resort

  • You can get to the Imereti resort by railway on train "Swallow"— Olympic Park stop, to get to the coast you will have to go through the entire Olympic Park;

  • Public transport. Trip from the center of Sochi public transport will take 45-50 minutes, from Adler 15-20 minutes:
    • Sochi - Olympic Park buses No. 124С, №125 ;
    • Adler - Olympic Park bus No. 124С, buses №57 And №125 (they go through the Rossiya state farm, the travel time is longer).

Resort infrastructure

Since Imeretinka was not a residential area in the past, much of it was built from scratch: buildings, shops, roads. The entire infrastructure of the Imereti resort is subordinated to tourism. It is spacious, there is little traffic, clean air, beautiful cottage villages. The illuminated embankment stretches for 7.5 kilometers – almost to the border with Abkhazia on the Psou River.

Beaches

The coastal zone is different from most Sochi beaches. There are no breakwaters here. Also, vacationers will not be disturbed by train noise, because the railway tracks after Adler turn into the mountains. Between the embankment and the sea line there is a fairly large strip; There is enough space for everyone. The sea is crystal clear, like in a protected area. The bottom is flat - no steep slopes. Many Sochi residents come here specifically to swim!

The beach is almost entirely pebble. In some places, the beach area is literally strewn with cobblestones. This was done specifically to strengthen coastline. If you accidentally come across a pile of stones, it’s okay. Just walk a little to the right or left and find yourself on a regular pebble beach.

Olympic Park

The park area occupies a huge part of Imereti Bay. Getting around all the sights on foot is tiring, so many people prefer to rent bicycles. The park is open from 8 am to 12 midnight. If you come here in the late afternoon, you can see a mesmerizing show of singing colored fountains. The show is held daily:

  • in winter 18:00 to 19:00,
  • in autumn and spring from 19:00 to 20:00,
  • in summer from 20:30 to 21:30.

The park contains the main symbols of the Olympics: the Fisht stadium, the Shaiba children's health center, the palace winter species sports "Iceberg", curling center. In 2017, the Museum Center was opened on the territory of the park. 3 different museums were gathered here under one roof: Tesla, Leonardo and the USSR. You can also visit the car museum on site.

Amusement park "Sochi-Park"

There is a real Disneyland in Imereti Bay! 15 extreme and simply fun attractions will not let thrill-seekers get bored. In the territory entertainment complex— 5 interesting thematic zones. Events dedicated to various festive events are regularly held here. The main advantage of the park: originality combined with entertainment on a European scale. The main “minus” is the long queues for the attractions during the season.

Directly near the entrance to the park there is a 4* Bogatyr hotel, decorated in the style medieval castles. It is convenient to stay here for those for whom visiting Sochi Park is the main goal of a trip to the Black Sea coast. Each hotel guest receives one free ticket.
