Abandoned Soviet attractions - cities and villages of Russia. Soviet attractions Soviet-era attraction in the form of a rotating dish

What could be better in childhood than entertainment? In our provincial Soviet town, built around an ore mining complex, such an entertainment place was the only city park of culture and recreation with attractions built in it. He became such for us, Soviet children, for a while summer holidays from May to September. And even if the rides were not the same as in Disneyland, we didn’t know any others, and therefore we were very happy to stand in a long line at the ticket office on a hot afternoon and ride the Whirlwind or Romashka with a breeze. And the most daring older children rode on the Ferris Ring and it was a real childhood!

Some of those Soviet attractions are still functioning in our city. Not to say that they are very successful, but they function. True, the Ferris Ring was dismantled several years ago, yet its operation would already be unsafe. But on the "Daisy", "Engine", "Whirlwind" and "Roller Coaster" you can ride now. My kids still ride them. But they do not experience that drive, as we once did. They just ride and that's it. They have a lot of other things, too much, which gives them equally strong emotions. Therefore, we received many times more impressions from what we had.

For us, it was not just a joy, but a real holiday, when on a weekend, or a holiday, my parents and I came to ride in the park on our city rides. Everyone rode on the carousels - from young to old. For adult men, huge metal “Power Swings” were supplied, which were mechanically swayed using their own strength. Particularly powerful male skiers could even make a “sun”, and more than once.

Also, adults loved such rides as "Whirlwind" and installed later, in the early 90s, "Surprise". At the same time, the Russian Hills were also installed. Those who are more timid rode the Romashka. And on the Ferris Wheel without adults they were allowed only from the age of 12. For the little ones, there were provided "Engine" and "Small Daisy", as well as children's swings - "boats". Avtodrom enjoyed special love with us. The ticket for it cost 30 kopecks. On those cars you could feel like a real professional driver.

A cafe was installed in the amusement park, where you could eat delicious ice cream and drink an unsurpassed milkshake. There was also a shooting range where my dad taught me to shoot at a moving target. One bullet cost everything - exactly as much as it cost to make a phone call.

Ride on the rides for adults, those that are cooler and more extreme, cost 20 kopecks. Carousels for kids cost 15 kopecks. Quite affordable prices for any Soviet citizen.

In general, the park was organized and arranged superbly, tastefully and with love. Shady alleys were created for family walks with benches installed. Everywhere there were fountains and drinking "fountains", in the park there was a stage for the performance of various artists on holidays. And the holidays we had such that this is generally a separate issue.

Probably one of the brightest memories of every Soviet child is a family trip to an amusement park. In the USSR, in almost every city there was such a treasured recreation park, and all the rides for it were produced at one plant in the USSR in the city of Yeysk. Since time immemorial, the plant has produced equipment for amusement parks and recreation throughout the country.

Since 1959, the production of complex attractions began. In place of the obsolete Soviet attractions "Runner", "Rocket Planer", "Mobile Theatres", obsolete since the 1930s, complex new-generation structures are being installed in amusement parks across the country. Already in 1971, these are spatial structures with hydraulic units and electromechanical drives.

Attractions in the USSR served well for many decades, and in the parks until the mid-70s, the structures installed in the early 50s were still in operation.

The famous Soviet attraction "Air Carousel" was first released in Yeysk in 1956, it is the "progenitor" of all more complex carousels. For example, such as everyone's favorite attraction in Gorky Park in Moscow in the 70s-80s - "Swinging Planes" - these are aircraft cockpits for two people, mounted on frame booms and rotating in a circle.

Gradually, the production of attractions in the USSR became more and more diverse. Some models for many years, until the crisis of the 90s, were produced at the plant in Yeysk in large volumes.

In almost every city where large amusement parks were located in the USSR, the Ferris Wheel and the famous Chain Carousel - the famous umbrella and a swing suspended from it on chains - worked.

The Soviet attraction for children “Grancing Horses” also comes to mind - horses rotate in a circle on the platform, and at the same time children can use them as traditional rocking chairs, bending back and forth. For visitors of the youngest age, this Soviet attraction was the most favorite and, of course, "Funny Trains". In a coupler, 10-15 wagons traveled along a winding railway route to the ringing of a bell and the sounds of a "real" train. By the way, sometimes sparks flew in all directions at the corners - it frightened and fascinated at the same time.

Probably, in every amusement park with attractions in the USSR, the “Centrifuge” worked - this is a rapidly rotating attraction on which the visitor invariably tested his vestibular apparatus, falling into the power of centrifugal force.

From the 60s to the 70s, many Soviet space-themed rides appeared. One of them is "Saturn": rotating around its axis, the cabin also rose to a height of 4 meters, and then, without stopping the rotation of the cabins, fell sharply down.

The essence of any attraction is to cause delight and thrill, all this brings incredible joy, gives a surge of energy to children and adults, and it is not even known who loves such events more. Rather, it is a joint, active family holiday. Let us recall at least the Soviet attraction "Autodrom", where both children and adults competed on electric cars at the same time.

In the USSR, citizens had very little entertainment. Safe extreme for everyone was present precisely on Soviet attractions.

From the end of the 80s until the beginning of the century, stagnation was observed in the field of domestic production of attractions, the market was captured by foreign suppliers. But since 2001, more and more modern attractions have been produced at the modernized amusement park in Yeysk, and these products are currently included in the 100 best goods in Russia.

Everyone knows the legendary object of the exclusion zone - an amusement park in Pripyat: an overgrown "Autodrom", a rusty "Ferris Wheel". Many, including myself, want to see them live. It turns out that for this it is not necessary to go so far, there are exactly the same attractions in the Ekateringof park in St. Petersburg, but in much better condition and without any radiation. For me, it was also a date with my childhood, I once rode the same rides in the Brest city park, but they still work properly there.

1. I came to the park in the evening, when the white night had just begun to “thicken”.

2. The first “pepelats” peeped out of the foliage - the familiar “Chamomile” to many.

3. Surprisingly, but factory, which produced attractions in the USSR, is still alive and well!

4. "Chamomile" was developed on it in 1968, and in 1974 it was modernized.

5. In technical language, here "during the rotation of the common umbrella, a change in the angle of inclination of the carrier boom occurred."

6. During operation, the drum rose almost to a vertical position (unlike the "Orbit").

7. Riders standing fastened on the rim of the drum.

8. During rotation, the spins were pressed against special plates. As far as I remember, there was an age limit on this attraction from 16 years old.

9. Drum rotation drive.

10. Electric motor.

11. Nearby is the classic Carnival carousel.

12. Toy animals ran in a circle around the axis of the umbrella.

13. Elephants, giraffes, deer, horses, camels...

14. All horse-drawn vehicles are presented here, there are not enough donkeys, but there are plenty of them in the district.

15. This carousel could be restored, it is well preserved.

16. "Young" met in many parks throughout the USSR.

17. A multi-section "steamboat" traveled around the lighthouse. In Brest, unfortunately, "Jung" did not survive.

18. The detail is amazing: there is a chimney, a steering wheel and even a small screw!

19. An analogue of "Jungi" is still produced by the Yeisk plant "Attraction", but is called "Corsair" and looks monstrously .

20. "Sunny" in terms of prevalence did not lag behind "Yungi".

21. This is a "micro ferris wheel" for the little ones. The modern analogue of the attraction - "Treasures of the Sea". But I am fascinated only by the appearance of the old version.

22. In the burned-out warehouse, you can still see a lot of spare parts for attractions.

23. The “Fungus” even has a sign that has not been defaced by vandals.

24. This is another classic carousel.

25. Instead of animals, there are vehicles.

26. Touching "spacecraft".

27. Jet fighter.

28. On the control panel, not only the steering wheel, but even one pointer device.

29. Next carousel - "Bell"

30. The attraction really looks like a flower with ten buds.

31. When landing, it was necessary to fasten the chains to the seats, and when the engine was started, the seats leaned back a little and then swayed smoothly.

32. Flower core.

33. An enlarged version of the "Bell", but with a change in the plane of rotation is called "Orbit".

34. This is the only attraction still fenced and locked.

35. To take a picture of the remote control, I had to put the camera through the bars, and after removing the lens, since the whole device did not pass between the bars.

36. The swings in Yekateringof are much better preserved than those in Pripyat .

37. Although visitors to the park often swing on them.

38. Complex swings are not complete: there are no cabins for skiers.

39. Near the "Autodrom" - forgotten tracks with markings.

40. And here is the Autodrom itself, just like in Pripyat.

41. And the cars are exactly the same, also scattered around the site.

42. Thin profile rubber.

43.

44. During the last painting, the symbols of various brands were applied to the cars, for example, "Audi".

45. Or, Buick.

46. Now there are no children here, nettle grows right on the site ...

47.

48. The latest attraction - "Funny Slides", replicated in parks throughout the country.

49. Monorail system.

50. Remote in the mechanic's booth.

51. Peeling paint, moss on metal parts - the picture is not inferior to Pripyat.

52. The inside of one of the cars, where the engine was and there was a drive wheel.

53. Vacationers in the park often come here, take pictures in armchairs...

54. I was interested in the details of the mechanism, I went inside the circle.

55. This is how the “spokes” are attached to the main axis of rotation.

56. Switchboard in the central cap.

57. Way.

58. The surrounding decay evoked sadness, because everything could still work...

59. On this note, I left the Leningrad "Pripyat".

Outdated attractions fascinate with their specific beauty. They are filled with their own special energy. Looking at them, one can imagine how once adults and children rested on them. How they brought joy and good mood to people.

Now the Soviet-era attractions in the Zagorodny Park are in a very deplorable state. Almost abandoned. Rusted, with peeling paint, in some places overgrown with grass and bushes. A small and partial cosmetic repair only emphasizes their deplorable state. I don’t know if they can be called abandoned, but they are clearly not used for their intended purpose. All rides are "classic", such can be found in the parks of almost any city.

1. Autodrom

"Cars", "cars", "electric cars" - whatever they were called. One of my favorite childhood rides. Many probably loved to ride small electric cars and feel the adrenaline rush from collisions with a nearby electric car.

The canopy on the site was dismantled long ago.

It looks like the fence was painted not so long ago.

2. Swing-boats.
Attraction for the entertainment of adults and children. Both had to use it.

If you tried hard, you could swing a little above the horizontal plane. Feelings are simply unforgettable.

Brake - a long bar that rose from below when the caretaker pressed the lever and the swing rubbed against it and gradually stopped.

A stretched cable - so that they would not use the swing.

The only attraction with a warning sign.

3. "Cabin boy"

A small boat that can ride the kids as if on real sea waves.

Mine last flight around the lighthouse "boat" made a long time ago.

4. "Orbita" light version. If memory serves, it was called - "Bell"

Carousel for children from 3 to 8 years old.

When landing, it was necessary to fasten the chains to the chairs. When moving, the seats deviated slightly back and swayed smoothly.

5. "Orbit"

For adults and children from 10 years old. It was especially cool to ride on such a carousel - the rotation is accompanied by a simultaneous rise and fall. This movement is provided by an arrow that changes the angle of inclination up to 45 degrees.

We sit down in armchairs, lower the protective hoop, the carousel disc spins, everything cracks and creaks. Go.)

6. "Surprise"

Kind of a centrifuge. It was possible to use children from 16 years old, adults up to 50.

For proper operation, it was important that the visitors were evenly distributed around the circle.

The angle of maximum lifting of the boom is 65 degrees.

7. "Funny slides"

"Merry Slides" is a family attraction for all ages. Reminiscent of a roller coaster, but with much less extreme.

monorail system.

Bushes are already sprouting on the site.

8. "View Wheel"

"Ferris Wheel" appeared in the park in the late 80s, early 90s. Its height is about 25-27 meters.

Now it is in a deplorable state.

Some of the booths are without a roof, some are missing seats. seat generally terrible.

It is surprising that the plant that produced these rides in the USSR is still working.

In the USSR, until 1959, the production of attractions was carried out by cooperative industrial artels and small semi-handicraft
workshops.
Everything changed on May 9, 1959, when by order of the Office of Local Industry Krasnodar Territory on the basis of small semi-handicraft enterprises of the city industrial complex and the cooperative fishing artels "Metalist" and "Red Smith", it was decided to establish the first in the USSR Yeysk mechanical plant "Attraction"
. Despite the primitive base and the small number of workers for such a plant - a little more than three hundred people - production was established here in an extremely short time, and a year later Attraction was given the status of an enterprise of allied significance.

"Yeisk Mechanical Plant" Attraction "- in the Soviet period it was a monopoly in the country for the production of park attractions, the plant's products could be seen in every city park in the Soviet Union. The plant reached its peak capacity in the late 80s, 1500 attractions were produced per year, more than 1000 people." (c) http://soviet-plants.rf/srednee-mashinostroenie/yeisk_mechaincal_plant.html
As of 2009, the enterprise produced more than 55 thousand attractions!!!.

OJSC Attraction (former Yeysk plant Attraction) August 2013

This summer we saw a report that the Open Joint Stock Company "Attraction" (Yeisk Mechanical Plant) is in a difficult position.
online:
"Current situation:
The plant is in a difficult position, the production area is largely sold out. A significant part of the already relatively small revenue is income from tenants. The team has significantly shrunk even in comparison with the pre-crisis year of 2007. The volume of output is not comparable with the Soviet one, it has fallen dozens of times." http://soviet-factories.rf/countries_of_former_ussr/-2.html
This is very, very sorry! Many people love and remember these wonderful attractions, which meet a high degree of safety, are familiar from childhood and are unlike foreign ones.

At the same time, OJSC "Attraction" did not stop and continues to release products
Delovaya Gazeta: "April 11, 2013 Yeysk OAO "Attraction" launched the production of new types of products - children's play complexes, towns and playgrounds, as well as outdoor sports equipment and simulators" http://www.dg-yug.ru/a/2013/ 04/11/Na_Kubani_vipustili_novie

It was at the Yeisk plant "Attraction" that they developed and put into mass production wonderful attractions that are not inferior in complexity and equipment to the world ones.

From the official site:
"The event that took place in the city of Yeisk on May 9, 1959, went unnoticed by the central media, however, this does not at all beg for its significance throughout the country, because it was they who laid the foundation for the development and formation of the then Soviet entertainment industry.
On this day, the Yeysk mechanical plant "Attraction" was founded - the first and - today - one of the leading manufacturers of park attractions in Russia ....
... The position of the monopolist obliged "Attraction" to do a lot: the development and expansion of production capacities, the increase in output, the constant development of more and more complex models of entertainment equipment, the selection and education of highly professional personnel, the creation of its own infrastructure are becoming the main strategic directions of activity of the team and the management of the enterprise. The plant is building not only new workshops, but also residential buildings, its own recreation center on the shore Sea of Azov, a kindergarten "Kolokolchik" for 280 children, a wonderful House of Sports...
By the end of the 80s, more than a thousand people were already working at the enterprise, and the production of attractions of varying complexity reaches one and a half thousand products per year ... "

"The history of the development of the release of Soviet attractions of the Yeysk plant "Attraction."

1959 - the design of the "Air Carousel" is being developed, which is considered one of the very first attractions. Based on this model, a number of other, more complex carousels have been created.

1959 Air carousel
"Air k. - a carousel, the seats of which are suspended on chains or metal rods to a rotating structure" Encyclopedic Dictionary

found on the web

In the photographs, the carousel came out unpresentable, but it was under the dome, a brightly colored attraction, dearly loved by young children and middle school hooligans ..
On May 9, a brass band plays on the dance floor and elderly couples dance to the sounds of a waltz, and you fly on carousels and blue skies, and your parents wave your hand - it was a little happiness from childhood.

Now, as far as we know, there is only one modern version of the air carousel left in the parks and it looks like this:
The base tower extends telescopically, and the umbrella with hanging double-row seats changes the angle of inclination.

If not for the tasteless combination of dirty pink-violet-yellow shades - quite a nice attraction =)))

Sokolniki Park 2013

in the Almaty park a slightly different option (source unknown)

1959 Designed the first lift-and-spin attraction called "Swing Planes".
The legendary attraction consisted of two two-seater aircraft mounted on booms. Due to the thrust force, the aircraft rotated in a circle around the column. And not only rotated, but also changed height.
It was a breathtaking ride, children under 14 were not allowed

Many never managed to fly on these planes - by the 80s, these attractions had practically disappeared everywhere.

Jacques Dupaquier Attraction "Turning planes" in the state farm "Krasnoe" in the village of Vodyanaya Balka, Krasnodar Territory, 1964

Turning aircraft in Pavlovsk, 1980

1959 The legendary swing "Dead loop" or "Nesterov's loop" was developed rotating around a horizontal axis.
It is on them in the film "I'm walking around Moscow" that the heroine of actress Galina Polskikh - Alena, asks a crook to ride in order to detain him until the police arrive

A counterweight is attached to one end of the axle, and a two-seat aircraft is attached to the other. A motor is installed in the nose of the aircraft, which accelerates the propeller and the aircraft begins to rotate around the horizontal axis.

Leningrad Seaside Park, 1968

Izmailovsky park 1962

Until the 80s, these attractions also practically did not reach. Either there were not enough parts for depreciation, or the attraction was recognized as not safe enough.

1959 - Designed "View Wheel"- the first production model mastered by the Soviet industry.

Eagle 1966 Panoramic wheel

1960 - the "Children's" carousel was developed designed specifically for preschool children.
This is everyone's favorite carousel with horses, elephants, lions and other animals.
Leningrad, TsPKiO

There was nothing left of our beloved carousel, which was covered with a heavy tarpaulin in the park for the winter, even the concrete platform went into the ground. For a long time we looked for its analogue in the parks of different cities, and did not find it.
But this year in famous park Ivan Poddubny in Yeysk, this carousel was suddenly found! Children's carousel "Carnival"
Of course, this is a later version - in our time, the animals were plywood-wooden, or maybe from pressed sawdust, but that's all - even a bench in the center! former.

g eagle carousel carnival

This carousel appears in cartoons (for example, mf "Carousel Lion"), films and children's books.

1960 The "Wheel of Meetings" project was put into operation, which moves along two intersecting paths.
I can't even imagine what it is

1960 The chain carousel was designed.
It is made in the form of an openwork umbrella with a diameter of 8 meters, to which 20 single seats are suspended on chains.

A. Grinberg Sokolniki 1964, Czechoslovak Exhibition

Later - the famous and popular still favorite attraction "Whirlwind"

carousel "Whirlwind" in the famous park of Ivan Poddubny, Yeysk 2013

1962 - the first mobile carousel for school-age children was produced.

such a carousel has been preserved in Yekaterinburg, PARK OF CULTURE AND RECREATION IM. V.V. MAYAKOVSKY. If someone takes a picture and shares - we will be glad! =))

1962 The Spiral attraction was developed(complex rotation carousel). This attraction is a metal structure with which you can move along the turns of the ascending and descending spiral in a complex movement.

Perhaps this is an analogue of the attraction "Turbo" ???
