Today I want to tell you about my experience of flying with an airline NordWind... We flew with this airline because we bought a tour to the Dominican Republic and there was no choice who to fly. And since booking tickets on our own and the hotel is more expensive than a package tour, we settled on it, although we have not been flying through tour operators for quite some time. We flew from the Pegasus company. Well, let's start from the very beginning, I tried to get through electronic check-in for the flight and was surprised to find that all places (absolutely all) are paid. Prices range from 2,000 to 7,500 per seat, depending on convenience. This is the first time I encountered this, but I decided that paying for the seats where you should be seated for free is absurd. As a result, when they flew there, we were seated with my husband in the same "trump seats" at the emergency exit, where you can stretch your legs. Then many came up and asked how much we paid for them, it turns out that they had to be paid in addition to 7500 rubles, so we are pretty lucky, I thought then, but it was too early to draw conclusions. People started walking around the plane to be seated together, as they were seated at different ends. When we had already arrived in the Dominican Republic and Pegasus was taking us to the hotel by bus, we were immediately offered to book seats on the return plane, of course, not free of charge, arguing that then we can sit at different ends of the plane and it is better to immediately choose seats nearby. In general, NordWind is a whole chain of additional payments for any reason. By the way, back we really flew separately, though one after another. And there was also a problem with the seating of passengers, they were looking for a place among the available ones, since several people were seated in the same seats.

For almost 12 hours of flight, they feed only once, if you want to eat again, then pay money... Of course I understand everything, but it seems to me that they should feed at least 2 times, as other airlines do. Some airlines feed 2 times in 8 hours. And in addition, the amount of food is not calculated at all and there is no supply, for example, on the way back, I ran out of chicken and everyone began to distribute the remaining fish, and this less than half of the plane was managed by the stewards. The food is pretty good, you can eat... For example, I show the diet: fish and rice, 2 buns (though I don’t understand why there are two of them, butter, potato salad, cake.

There is no alcohol on board, not even wine and beer, that is, everything is strict, only juices and water. Moreover, the juices also run out by the end of the flight and two glasses are no longer poured, so that there is enough for everyone.

There were TVs in the cabin, but when we flew there, there were no headphones and probably they just had to be bought. But there is no point in buying, since all films are in English, Chinese and French, and this is in a Russian airline, in general, the logic is not very clear to me. On the way back, the TVs did not work at all, that is, they simply did not turn on.

Baggage.

This airline can carry 20 kg. per person per suitcase. This is the first time I come across such a thing, that is, one suitcase cannot weigh more than 20 kg., Even if you are 10 people with one suitcase. That is, in total you can carry 200 kg, but in a suitcase there is only 20 kg. Quite large penalties for overweight, so the show starts at the airport, who is lucky and how much needs to be transferred. Everyone weighs their suitcases on the scales before dropping off their luggage, it's good that there are empty places where you can weigh them. But you get additional stress, and from all sides there are psychos and cries of people.

The plane itself is quite fresh, the seats are tolerable, you can even get some sleep, though there is little space between the seats and the seats themselves are not very comfortable.

And of course, do not expect any additional bells and whistles in the form of cosmetic cases with toothbrushes, sleep masks and slippers, pillows on chairs, etc. The blankets end instantly and whoever is late is left without a blanket. But in general, the impression of the airline was not very pleasant, all the same, taking money for absolutely everything that is possible and impossible, I consider too much. It's good that the air on the plane is still free, but I won't be surprised that soon this will be fixed too. Therefore, if there is an opportunity to choose another airline, then I advise you to do just that. All the same, I do not want to fly for a long time without food, at different ends of the plane, and even upon departure, I do not want to pay extra for luggage.
