The best beaches in Bali for swimming and surfing. All information and reviews from tourists

The island of Bali is famous for its beaches; there are several dozen of them. However, not everything can be considered for swimming. Most of the beaches are in demand among surfers and are absolutely not suitable for water treatments. Therefore, especially for you, I have made a selection of the best beaches on the island, which are relatively calm. Favorable conditions have been created here for relaxation even with small children.

This is one of the most famous beaches in the southern part of the resort. It combines unique nature, warm ocean water and magnificent hotels. Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every year. The name of the beach translates as “two islands”. Nearby are the islands of Peninsula and Nusa Dharma.

Tourism on the beach began to develop only in the 70s of the last century. This idea was achieved through joint efforts local population and foreign investors. The resort began to develop at a rapid pace, deserted areas turned into closed sections of the beach, near which luxury hotels and shopping and entertainment centers began to be built.

Nusa Dua Beach is 3 kilometers long. It is famous for its clean yellow sand and gentle entrance to the ocean. The tourist infrastructure here is well developed, and the water in the ocean is a pleasing azure color. There is a coral reef near the shore, which serves as a barrier from strong waves.

The beach provides excellent conditions for families with children to relax. Hotel staff regularly monitor order on the coastline; a sufficient number of sun loungers and umbrellas are installed. In the central part of the beach there are many themed restaurants where you can taste real culinary masterpieces of national cuisine. However, the prices are a bit high.

To the number best hotels for recreation include:

Geger Beach

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula. Near the shore there is a coral reef that acts as a breakwater. It protects the coast from strong winds, allowing even small children to swim in the ocean. There are sometimes waves, but they gently roll onto the coast and do not bring any discomfort to vacationers.

The entrance to the water is gentle. The sand on the beach is light and consists of large grains of sand. The bottom of the shore is also sandy, there are no stones or shells. High water clarity and a rich underwater world make it possible to surf and explore the local beauty.

There are no large crowds of people on Geger, unlike Nusa Dua. The beach infrastructure is well developed. There are umbrellas and sun loungers along the coast, which can be rented for an additional fee.

Due to the fact that there is a fishing village nearby, boats and vessels are often visible on the horizon. The disadvantages also include a large amount of algae that is carried out from the ocean. Their numbers especially increase during the rainy season.

Most of the hotels are concentrated on the first coastline. Some of the best include:

Nikko Beach

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula, steps away from Geger and Nusa Dua. This is a classic beach in southern Bali. The coastal line is covered with snow-white sand, and the clearest water creates the most favorable conditions for water procedures. To get to the shore, you need to walk along a small cliff, at the top of which there is a parking lot.

Nikko Beach pleases with its picturesque landscapes. From the shore you can admire the views of the volcano, the main beauty of which opens in the morning. Newlyweds often have wedding photo sessions on the beach. The coastline is famous for its cleanliness; there are two piers.

The waves near the shore are almost imperceptible; in addition, the ebb and flow of the tides are imperceptible on Nikko. Local residents advise swimming during high water. There may be undercurrents further from the shore, so it is not recommended to leave your children unattended. There are no hotels on the beach, a good option can be booked in nearby Nusa Dua. Among them:

Padang Padang Beach

Another beach where you can safely go on vacation with children of any age. It is famous for its safe swimming conditions and well-developed infrastructure. The entrance to the ocean is gentle, there are no sharp jumps or drops, which provides peace of mind for parents and opportunities for swimming for children.

The beach became especially popular after the famous film “Eat. Pray. Love”, since it was here that several beautiful episodes from the film were filmed. In this regard, every guest of the island tries to visit the coast.

The beach is also attractive for surfers. Both beginners and experienced athletes come here. Every year Padang Padang hosts the Rip Curl Padang Padang surfing competition.

To get to the shore, you need to walk through a picturesque gorge. The coast consists of light sand, the water in the ocean is azure in color, the entrance to the water is smooth and calm. Waves are observed only in July, but they do not reach the shore.

The beach is small, so sometimes it may seem as if it is crowded. There are no sun loungers, only umbrellas are installed on the shore, which can be rented for 100 thousand rupees per day. Therefore, to sit on the sand, do not forget to grab a mat or towel. Entrance to the beach is paid, the cost is 10,000 rupees per person.

Personally, I really liked the beach, despite the large number of vacationers and the entrance fee. It has become my favorite place for a beach holiday.

Pandawa Beach

This is one of the youngest beaches, open to tourists for only a few years. It is surrounded on all sides by a canyon, inside of which a road to the coast has been cut. You can get to the shore either by car or by bike. Located at the entrances observation deck, which offers amazing views of the entire Pandawa Beach.

The coastal strip is formed by light yellowish sand. There are not many plants, and those that exist are concentrated in oases.

The water here is clean and has a turquoise tint. The bottom is clearly visible even at depth, which creates favorable conditions for snorkeling. Along the shore, the bottom is covered with coarse sand, a little further there are small stones, algae and corals. There are strong ebbs and flows here. During high tide, the water can rise up to 1.5 meters.

The infrastructure is well developed. Umbrellas and sun loungers are installed (if desired, you can always sit right on the sand), there are bio-toilets and showers. A little further from the coast there are cafes offering both national and European cuisine.

There are no hotels on the beach itself; they are located 15-20 minutes drive from the coast. Among them:

Sanur Beach

The beach is located southeast of Denpasar and has a length of 5 kilometers. It is quite quiet, which is why retirees and couples with children come here. It was from here that the development of the tourism industry in Bali as a whole began.

Not far from the coast there is a coral reef and several breakwaters. Due to this, a water area is created that is reliably protected from strong waves. The sand along the shore is of artificial origin. It was specially brought here for tourist purposes.

The entrance to the ocean is gentle and there are noticeable ebbs and flows. The water is light green, with algae found in it a little further from the shore. Therefore, swimming is not very comfortable for an adult.

There are no hotels with private beaches in Sanur; all of them are public. The infrastructure includes sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, changing rooms and showers. There are many restaurants and cafes along the shore. The number of visitors increases in the late afternoon when tourists come here to enjoy a romantic dinner.

Popular hotels include the following:

  • The Alantara Sanur;

Bias Tugal Beach

You can often hear that the beach is called secret. It got its name due to the fact that it is surrounded on all sides by rocks. If you look from above, you will have a view of the harbor and the cliffs, and if you don’t know that there is a coastal strip there, then driving through the beach will not be difficult.

It's incredible here beautiful nature. Tropical vegetation reveals itself in all its glory against the backdrop of the turquoise ocean. Due to the fact that transport cannot drive up to the shore itself, silence and tranquility reign here. The infrastructure on the beach is poorly developed. There is a small shelter for vacationers, there are several cafes with light snacks and refreshments, and a toilet. But you have to pay 5,000 rupees for it.

The ocean at the beach is generally calm and safe for swimming. But sometimes big waves rise, water floods almost the entire beach area and swimming and sunbathing becomes difficult.

There are no hotels on the beach, the closest ones are located a 15-20 minute walk from it:

  • Villa Manouria-Marcel;
  • Villa Suari;

We got to know the best beaches for swimming in Bali. Most of them have well-developed infrastructure and attract travelers of all ages.

Bali is not called a tourist paradise for nothing. Indian Ocean created dozens of amazing beaches here, stunning in their beauty. The uniqueness of the island lies in the fact that it is universal; any tourist can find a suitable place for themselves. To decide which beach is best to relax on in Bali, you need to immediately decide on your vacation plans. For example, the most picturesque diving spots are located in the eastern part of the island. But surfers will be delighted with the west coast with its huge waves and deserted beaches.

The Bukit Peninsula is especially popular among visitors. These are places of amazing scenery, white sand and great surfing. This is where the most beautiful beaches in Bali are located. You can read more about this wonderful island from a tourist point of view on the website spiritrelax.ru.

It is located just 30 kilometers from the city of Kuta, but it seems like a fragment of another world. Tourists here are greeted by white-golden sand, an azure sea, which is never calm even in calm weather, and distance from the noise of cities. It is not very suitable for swimming with children due to the constant waves, but for surfers it is real paradise. The wavelength here reaches 3 hundred meters, and this is the largest in the world. The beach is surrounded by palm trees, mango trees, fragrant flowers and orchids of various types. All this creates a completely enchanting view.

No. 3. Padang-Padang

Bali's white sand beaches are best advertised by Padang Padang. The soft, shiny sand is the reason for one of the charming features of this place: there are absolutely no sun loungers. Padang Padang is especially popular among tourists with children, since the descent into the water is very smooth and there are almost no waves, so the shallow waters are great for kids.

Another feature of the beach is its interesting location. Despite the soft surf, rocks rise out of the water very close, the steep waves near which are favored by surfers. There is an excellent view from the shore, and sometimes competitions in this sport are even held here. A few years ago, scenes for the movie “Eat, Pray, Love” were filmed on the beach, after which tourists first learned about this paradise.

There are all possibilities for a beach holiday: from sun loungers and cafes to parking for native boats - kayaks, which can be rented for a small fee. One of the best beaches in Bali for swimming with children. The quiet shallow waters are protected from the sea by a coral reef, and there are never large waves here. But there is a developed infrastructure and a wide strip of soft white sand.

Geger has an interesting feature: it is one of the few beaches where topless sunbathing is allowed.

No. 7. Balangan

The beach is famous for its absolutely enchanting, seemingly alien, landscape. The coast here is covered with volcanic rock and unusually shaped depressions in the ground. This place has long been chosen by surfing enthusiasts. But you shouldn’t swim here because of the uneven, treacherous bottom. It is much more pleasant to sunbathe on a sun lounger or relax in one of the small cafes.

No. 8. Kuta

This is not the best place for swimming, but its popularity is still enormous. Kuta is simply made for stunning surfing and a night out in numerous clubs and bars. The nightlife here is no less vibrant than the daytime. The main disadvantage tourists rightly call traffic jams, in which you can stand for more than one hour.

No. 9. Sanur

Another quiet corner for a family holiday. The long strip of golden beach is protected by a coral reef, so the surf here is very soft and suitable for swimming even with very young children. The bottom drops very slowly, and at low tide the water opens up a wide strip of bottom. On which, if you are lucky, you can find underwater inhabitants who did not have time to escape. There are also a few nightclubs and cafes, but there are very few of them.

No. 10. Amed

A stunning combination of quiet azure waves and black volcanic sand. Divers consider this place to be the best scuba diving spot in Bali. The coral reefs here start right next to the shore; you don’t even need to take a boat to see them. And a little deeper at the bottom lies an ancient sunken ship - the special pride of the beach. However, this calm, picturesque bay is also ideal for a holiday with children.

A paradise holiday on the islands is almost always associated with snow-white beaches and azure seas. The island of Bali is no exception. Hundreds of tourists come here every year to spend their vacation by the ocean. A significant part of Bali's beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to high waves and strong currents, but there are some whose beauty is breathtaking, and swimming in them is a pleasure.

It is one of the best beaches in Bali. Located in picturesque bay, it provides excellent conditions for comfortable rest. The length of the coastline is about 5 kilometers. The sand on the shore is white and soft, walking on it is a pleasure. The beach is wide enough to accommodate a large number of tourists.

Thanks to its shallow depth and smooth entry into the ocean, Jimbaran Beach is perfect for families, including those with small children. The bottom is sandy, so you don’t have to worry about getting hurt when entering the water. Another advantage is cleanliness; they carefully monitor order here.

Within Jimbaran, the infrastructure is well developed. For accommodation only modern hotels. Meals are provided in cafes and restaurants, most of which are located near the shore. The basis of the diet is seafood dishes. Local fishermen supply fresh catch every day, so there is no doubt about the quality of the products.

Dreamland Beach

Dreamland Beach is especially popular among tourists. The light-colored sand, pleasant to the touch, allows you to enjoy evening walks along the coast. There is good infrastructure here, which is developing rapidly. For the convenience of tourists, there are umbrellas and sun loungers, which can be rented for a fee.

There are a sufficient number of cafes and restaurants on the beach, where you can try different cuisines from the world. Because of big waves The beach is not suitable for swimming. Mostly those who live by surfing relax here. The hotel stock is represented by a large hotel, several villas and bungalows.

Padang Padang Beach

It is located in the southwestern part of Bukit. The beach is located next to the rocks. This unique place, here you can swim in the ocean and ride a surfboard at the same time. The length of the beach is no more than 100 m. To get to the beach, you need to go down the cliff.

Padang Padang Beach is popular with filmmakers and photographers. Video clips were filmed here, as well as the famous film “Eat. Pray. Love." Therefore, the beach has become the most popular in Bali.

The first surfers appeared here long before Padang Padang was developed by tourists. In 2004, an international surfing competition was held here. A special type of wave called a “pipe” forms not far from the shore.

Bingin Beach

A small beach located almost in the southernmost part of Bali. It is not difficult to get to it from both Kuta and Denpasar. The beach is covered with light sand, onto which turquoise waves gently roll. Bingin is a great place for sunsets. Every evening hundreds of tourists come here to enjoy the most beautiful spectacle.

If you decide to swim here, it is better to come during high tide, then the waves are not so high, this allows you to swim at least a little from the shore. If there are no red flags installed near the shore, then you can swim even at low tide, but you need to be careful, as there may be a large number of stones in the water.

Many surfers come to the beach. There are a variety of accommodation options available. Cheaper accommodation is located down the beach.

Melasti Beach

Although this beach is little known, this does not prevent it from being one of the most beautiful on the island. It is located in the south of Bali and is considered good place for family holidays. In addition, lovers and elderly people come here. Thanks to the beautiful scenery, the beach is often visited by newlyweds to do a photo shoot.

Melasti Beach is unofficially divided into three parts. Thanks to the wide coastline, a fairly large number of tourists can settle here, and most importantly, each of them will feel as comfortable as possible.

There is one interesting attraction on the beach - the Kori Agung Gate. Due to the high waves, the beach is not suitable for swimming, but the water in the ocean is very clean. Most vacationers gather on the beach in the afternoon, so if you want a more secluded holiday, come here in the morning. The length of the coastline is about 1 kilometer, the coast is surrounded on all sides by rocks, which gives it some kind of peculiarity.

Pandawa Beach

This is another beautiful white sand beach in the southern part of Bali. Pandava is quite equipped, with sun loungers and umbrellas along the coastline. The coastal line is wide, but not the entire beach area can be used for swimming. In some places there are red flags that symbolize the prohibition of water procedures.

On the left side of Pandawa beach there is a cozy gazebo that can be used for beautiful photo sessions and friendly conversations, while simultaneously admiring the views of the ocean. There are not many tourists on the beach, which allows you to enjoy a more secluded pastime. It is best to come to the coast during low tide, this will allow you to fully enjoy water procedures, since the waves during this period become minimal.

Tourist infrastructure located on the right. There are several cafes and shops there, and you can also rent a kayak there. Another advantage of Pandavas is the relatively low cost of food in the cafe, but you need to be prepared for the fact that the basis of the menu is national dishes.

Nikko Beach

The beach is located not far from Nusa Dua, despite this, not everyone has heard of it. There is a 5-star hotel of the same name located on it. On Nikko there are almost never ebbs and flows, which allows both adults and children to swim here. The infrastructure is poorly developed, since a small number of tourists vacation on the coast.

But if you decide to spend the day in this paradise, rest assured that you will be provided with everything you need for your comfort. There are umbrellas and sun loungers for tourists, there are several cafes and shops, massage services are provided, and there is also a surf school. The shore is covered with white sand, the water in the ocean is clean.

Geger Beach

This is another great beach located near Nusa Dua. There is a coral reef not far from the coast, thanks to which the ocean remains quiet and calm at almost any time of the year. Due to the fact that Geger Beach faces east, there is always a light sea breeze blowing here, and the ocean water is slightly warmer than in other similar parts of Bali. The entrance to the water is smooth, the bottom is shallow, you can come here with children without fear. For the convenience of tourists, sun loungers are installed.

Along the shore there is a strip of cafes and restaurants serving local and international cuisine. Unlike other beaches on the island, topless sunbathing is allowed on Gegera. The tourist infrastructure is developed at a high level, but it is not located along the entire coastline. But if you wish, you can always find a cozy cafe.

Nusa Dua Beach

It is the most prestigious beach in Bali. It has a length of about 3 kilometers, within which the best 5-star hotels of the island are concentrated. The coastline is formed by light sand; cleanliness is carefully monitored here, and even in the low season the coast remains clean.

Nusa Dua Beach has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. First-class restaurants open their doors here, where you can try dishes from different nations of the world. You will never see annoying traders on the beach; any type of trade in this region is punishable by law.

Bias Tugal Beach

If you are a true romantic and want to enjoy the Balinese sunrise, then this beach is what you need. It is located in the southeast of the island. This beach is a great place for diving and snorkeling. There are almost never high waves here, and the underwater world amazes with its beauty and diversity.

The beach has a calm, relaxing atmosphere, and all because there are never too many tourists in these places. Within Bias Tugal Beach there are several cozy hotels, which allows you to stay in these places for several days.

White sand beaches on the map

On this map I marked all the beaches that I talked about in this article.

We got to know the best beaches in Bali with light-colored sand. Some of them are suitable for swimming, while others are suitable for surfing. Everyone will find the perfect beach for themselves.

99% of tourists come to Bali for an unforgettable experience beach holiday. And the famous sunsets are an absolutely stunning sight. Photos from the island of Bali are reminiscent of advertising brochures, it’s so exotically beautiful here. The beaches of the island are especially good because each of them is different from the others and has features unique to it, so that any vacationer will find “his” corner of paradise on the ocean.

Most of the beaches are concentrated in the south of the island: Kuta, Benoa, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Sanur and Uluwatu. In the northwest is Lovina. Among the new products is the not yet very popular, but excellent Amed beach in the east.

A feature of the beaches in Bali that surprises tourists who are not accustomed to relaxing on the ocean are the ebbs and flows associated with the influence of the Moon on the world's oceans. During high tide, the water level rises, bringing algae, debris and wildlife from the ocean. At low tide, the water recedes, leaving a wide sandbank where you can collect a variety of shells, starfish and corals.

But due to low tides, sometimes it is impossible to swim on some beaches during the day. The opportunity to enjoy the ocean is provided by nature only before 9 am and after four o'clock in the afternoon. The difficulty also lies in the fact that it is almost impossible to predict exact time high or low tides, although the approximate schedule in Bali must be drawn up a month in advance.

Therefore, choosing suitable beach, this feature must be taken into account. It can be immediately noted that the ebb and flow of the tides are little noticeable on the beaches of Nusa Dua and Jimbaran.

The best beaches in Bali for swimming

Let's take a closer look at the most popular beaches to understand which of them can be considered the best of the best. Although it is worth noting that in the photo all the beaches of Bali look fantastically beautiful.

  • Kuta is the most popular beach, excellent infrastructure. However, an excessive number of tourists and fairly high waves are unlikely to allow you to fully enjoy your beach holiday. Kuta Beach also has a rather dirty beach compared to Nusa Dua Beach.

  • Jimbaran, located in the southwest of Bali and adjacent to Nusa Dua on the map, is one of the calmest places; the tides here are insignificant, so you can swim calmly, and small waves will delight novice surfers. For example, the tide usually starts after four o'clock in the afternoon, so you can enjoy sunbathing and swimming until then. The beach is ideal for a quiet family holiday with children. Jimbaran is also distinguished by very fine, soft golden sand and relatively pure water. Although in fairness it is worth noting that due to small waves the coastal area is characterized by muddy water.

  • Sanur, like Kuta, is considered one of the best beaches, and in this case it is true. In the photo it looks like a picture: the sea is the calmest on the entire coast, the sand is snow-white, the water is clear, like a diamond. Paradise, and nothing more! There are coral reefs on the shore that are visible at low tide. Thanks to the variety of living creatures among the corals, diving here will bring real pleasure. However, this beach, ideal for families with children, is quite an expensive pleasure; prices here are slightly higher than at other resorts.

  • Nusa Dua - popular luxury resort, where many tourists come, unfortunately, it is unlikely to please with the transparency and cleanliness of the coastal waters; due to low tides, you can’t buy here until 3-4 o’clock in the afternoon. Although the sand is amazing, it's true.

  • Benoa, located a 10-minute drive from Nusa Dua, is a young and already very popular beach on the island. Wonderful exotic nature, white sand and water as clear as a tear quickly gained him popularity. But even here there are very noticeable ebbs and flows. However, in addition to swimming, on Benoa you can enjoy sea fishing, diving, boating, and paragliding. By the way, the sand here is healing, so Benoa is also the heart of thalassotherapy.

  • Lovina is a resort in north-west Bali suitable for relaxing holiday and characterized by black sand. Due to the small waves, surfers have nothing to do here. But here there are healing hot sulfur springs Banjar - you can combine business with pleasure, and you quickly get used to the specific smell.

  • Amed - a little rocky beach with black sand of volcanic origin in northeast Bali. It is not crowded and Amed itself is not very popular, but the stunningly beautiful nature, extraordinary sand and surprisingly sunny weather make this beach a great place for a family holiday.

The best beaches in Bali for surfing

  • The top beaches on the island of Bali suitable for surfing rightfully belong to Kuta. Lack of coral reefs and huge waves- what else do surfers need? It is also the entertainment center of the island, very loved by visiting young people.
  • Legian, although considered part of Kuta, is not so crowded. This beach is better for surfing than swimming. Although the ocean here is also not entirely calm, this does not prevent many tourists from enjoying the water. The sand on Legiana beach is not snow-white, but greyish, but also extremely pleasant to the touch.
  • Uluwatu is a young resort, a chic place for surfing: amazing nature, clean beaches with warm sand and huge waves. Although, according to some tourists, this beach is also suitable for a family holiday.
  • Jimbaran, described above, is suitable for beginner surfers due to its small waves.

The best beaches in Bali – perfect place for relaxation, meditation, relaxing holidays and extreme entertainment. Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world go to one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia to spend their holidays here. The beaches of Bali are pure sand or snow-white pebbles, picturesque landscapes, high cliffs and an amazingly beautiful ocean, the color of the water in which is amazing in the number of shades. Many of the island's beaches are unsuitable for swimming due to high waves and rip currents that can sweep swimmers out into the ocean, but there are also beautiful beaches where the sea is relatively calm and comfortable.

White Sand

The beach got its name thanks to white sand, which was brought here specifically to improve the territory and attract travelers. Over time, the sand was washed away and currently the shore has a more grayish tint, and sometimes there are completely black areas.

White Sand cannot be called an equipped beach, although sun loungers and umbrellas are installed on its territory. Rather, it is wild, and no one particularly monitors the cleanliness of the coastline. In different parts of the coastline you can see algae washed ashore by the waves, as well as cacti lying on the ground, falling from a steep cliff.

On the right side of White Sand there is a coral reef that attracts lovers of scuba diving and watching underwater world. The sea is calmer than on other beaches, but there are still waves. You can have lunch or just a snack in several cafes right on the beach, which belong to the residents of Candidasa. There is a highway leading from Sanur to the beach, from which, turning towards Candidasa, you will have to drive several kilometers off-road.

“Fabulous beach! Very beautiful coast! The sand is not white, but it is still more pleasant to relax here than on other beaches in Bali. Local residents are very sociable and try to play with the children of vacationers. Everything in the cafe is very expensive.”

Jemeluk Bay

The beach is located next to the village of the same name in a picturesque bay. This is one of the best places for diving in Bali. There are many coral reefs here that attract scuba divers with their beauty and unusualness.

The entire Jemeluk Bay beach is covered with small white pebbles. Its territory is not too large, but allows you to comfortably sleep on a sunbed or mattress, which are rented by local residents. The ocean in this part of the coast is quite quiet. Strong waves are quite rare.

Near the beach there are the necessary tourist and resort infrastructure: rental equipment for water activities, hotels, cafes, shops, car parking. Due to the fact that the sea in this place is calm and there are almost no significant low tides, the coastline is not littered with algae and other debris. The calm water is very clear, and swimming in it is a pleasure.

“We really enjoyed relaxing on this beach. The pebbles are small, you can walk without shoes, there were no strong waves, the sea was calm and clean. Standing in the water, you can see your feet and the bottom. Excellent service in cafes located nearby. We tried all sorts of seafood delicacies. I recommend this small but very cozy beach.”

Dreamland

Local residents say that once upon a time a traveler from Italy, a professional surfer, vacationed on this beach. He was so amazed by the tall emerald-colored waves approaching the sandy shore that he decided to call it “Dreamland.”

Dreamland is a fairly popular beach among tourists. Pleasant sand for walking and a rapidly developing infrastructure allow you to relax comfortably while enjoying the picturesque view of the ocean. The beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas that can be rented. Near the beach and on its territory, vacationers can eat in a cafe and restaurant, and order drinks in several bars.

It is quite rare to see people swimming here. The wave is too high to be in the water safely. But the beach traditionally attracts surfers. There is a large hotel near Dreamland where you can stay, as well as several bungalows and villas for rent. You can get to the beach by highway following the signs from the city of Kuta.
The journey will take about half an hour.

“A great beach to spend time in nature, sunbathe and relax. The sun loungers are comfortable, the umbrellas are large. Swimming here is incredibly difficult, as the wave covers you headlong. They say that during low tides the sea is calmer, but we were unable to catch this phenomenon.”

Green Bowl

An incredibly beautiful beach of dark golden sand on the Bukit Peninsula. The narrow coastal strip is located under a high cliff, and several hundred steep steps lead to the beach. This beach is considered very dangerous for swimming. It's all about the break wave, which often occurs in the coastal zone of the ocean. Its peculiarity is that a person is drawn into a wide channel by a strong current and can be carried into the open ocean.

Green Bowl - wild beach, not without some resort charms, which are located on the top of the cliff. Here tourists are greeted by enterprising Balinese people selling souvenirs and selling various drinks and food. This beach is preferred by those who like to relax away from civilization, as well as by surfers who use the rip current to get on the line up.

During high tide, the shore is completely covered by ocean waters and you cannot rest here at this time. But the golden sand dries quickly at low tide and is again ready to welcome tourists. The best way to get to the beach is by car or even by bike. From Kuta the journey by road will take 35–40 minutes.

“We came to this beach out of curiosity. We were told that there are monkeys walking around here, there are a lot of surfers and the ocean is incredibly beautiful. The information was confirmed. While we were going down the cliff along a huge number of steps, we saw enough wild monkeys. There are, however, a lot of surfers. You can only admire the ocean; swimming here is impossible because of the high waves, and even prohibited.”

Bias Tegul

Bias Tegul Beach is located near Padangbai Port. To find it you need to go through a small forest grove. The secluded beach is perfect for swimming and relaxing. It is also called secret because of its location hidden from human eyes.

The shore is covered with soft, pleasant-to-touch sand. Despite the proximity to the port, where ships constantly arrive, the water here is crystal clear. Every now and then a snow-white line of foam, created by a soft wave, slowly rolls up to the shore.

There are several warungs on the beach - thatched cafes where locals cook and sell food. The beach has an interesting feature. The rocks located on the shore have small caves into which water regularly flows. Squeezed out by the accumulated air, it crumbles into a fountain of spray, rising several meters in height - an incredible sight.

Even during the peak season there are not many tourists here. The beach is quite difficult to find, making your way from the port along a narrow mountain path.

“Great beach with fine light sand and very beautiful scenery. Surrounded by mountains, it seems to be hiding from prying eyes so that tourists do not find it and disturb such beauty. The water here seemed a little colder than on other beaches, but once we got used to it, we splashed around a lot!”

Kuta

One of the best beaches in Kuta. It is famous for its long coastline of golden sand. There are always a lot of tourists relaxing here who want to soak up the hot Indonesian sun and enjoy the clean, warm water.

Kuta Beach stretches along the coast for 8 km. Its strip is wide enough to accommodate many sun loungers with umbrellas, which are arranged in several rows. The excellent infrastructure attracts not only foreigners holidaying in Kuta, but also its residents.

You can surf on the beach. Experienced instructors teach the art of controlling a board on the waves. For a small fee you can go to a massage parlor, of which there are several dozen on the beach, or order drinks in bars.

The city embankment runs along the shore - favorite place walks of tourists. There is everything that vacationers might need - cafes, restaurants, shops, souvenir shops. Kuta Beach is famous for its magnificent sunsets, which tourists especially come to see.

“We were on holiday in Kuta and visited this beach several times. It is very large, but there are a lot of tourists, so to find a free sunbed, you need to arrive early. The traders are very annoying, they don’t care that you lie and sunbathe with your eyes closed, they bother you and offer their products. But the beach itself is very beautiful, clean and comfortable.”

Mengiat

The beach is located on south coast islands of Bali. A wide strip of sand stretching along the coast attracts many tourists. You can come here from Kuta by bus or by renting a car or bike.

Mengiat is a clean, equipped beach with excellent infrastructure. Despite its popularity among foreign holidaymakers, it is not as crowded as the beaches of Kuta. You can always find a free sunbed and sit on it by paying a small rent.

The sea on this beach is calm and comfortable for swimming throughout the high tourist season. It is protected from strong waves by a large number of coral reefs. From the shore, the sea has an unusually beautiful color - a mixture of azure and emerald. Rubbish and algae are carefully removed by staff. At Mengiat you can engage in active water activities, have lunch or a light snack in a cafe, and use the services of massage parlors.

“A wonderful place to relax peacefully on the shore, sunbathe and swim without experiencing discomfort. The sea is very beautiful, the entrance is not too steep, and in some parts of the beach it is quite flat, which allows children to splash around.”

Jimbaran Beach

One of the best beaches in southern Bali. It is located in a beautiful bay with picturesque views, modern hotels and villas. A fairly wide coastline allows a large number of tourists and vacationers to stay comfortably. The length of the beach is more than 5 km.

The entrance to the sea along the entire beach is very gentle, and the depth near the shore is shallow, which allows not only adults, but also children to enjoy water activities. The bottom is very clean and sandy. Cleanliness and order on the beach itself are carefully monitored. There is no garbage here.

Jimbaran Beach and its holidaymakers are served by several restaurants and cafes located on the shore. You can sit in the shade of the awnings or order food directly to your sun lounger. Mostly seafood dishes are prepared here, which are delivered to restaurants by fishermen. Early in the morning you can see them returning with their catch. Lovers sea trips can use the services of local residents, who will arrange an excursion on the flat surface of the sea on their own boats.

“Great place for a family holiday. We stayed in a hotel next to the beach and enjoyed this beauty every day. The sea is calm, clean, the beach is spacious and equipped. Admission for hotel guests was free. I liked that if you wish, they will immediately bring you drinks or food from local cafes.”

Balangan

The beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula near the town of Jimbaran. It is a narrow strip of sand along the coast 700 meters long. In the northern part of the beach, a high cliff extends into the ocean, where wedding photo sessions often take place. Balangan is a popular surf slot.

Even during peak season there are not too many vacationers on the beach. Mostly local hotel guests sunbathe here, less often visitors. Along the coast you can see many warungs where seafood is prepared. Having climbed the mountain along stone steps, vacationers find themselves in a picturesque area where there are several hotels and villas.

Swimming in Balangan is not very convenient due to the high waves. On rare days when the water is calmer, tourists splash around the shore, but such entertainment is considered quite dangerous, especially since there are no lifeguards on the beach. The most comfortable place for swimming is Northern part beach by the cliff. The sand on the coastline is fine and clean. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for the convenience of vacationers.

“Take your time on the road and be sure to visit this beach. Even while descending from the mountain, you can examine the entire coastline - long, with yellow sand, it arches, as if hugging the ocean. There are many inexpensive warungs on the beach where you can have a hearty lunch. Swimming is difficult, but it’s very interesting to watch the surfers.”

Padangbai Beach

A small cozy beach surrounded by rocks with lush green vegetation. The entire coastline is snow-white clean sand. Padangbai Beach is rightfully considered one of the best beaches in Bali, where it is pleasant to relax and spend time. In addition, this is a popular surf slot for both experienced surfers and beginners.

On the coastline there are several warungs where they prepare and sell dishes made from fresh seafood caught in the ocean in the morning. You can also order drinks here. Rescuers are closely watching the vacationers.

The water in the ocean is often calm, with long waves slowly rolling onto the shore. It is better to swim on the left side of the bank. There are no umbrellas or sun loungers on the beach. Vacationers sit right on the sand, on the rugs and towels they brought with them.

Padangbai Beach is famous for the fact that several episodes of the famous film “Pray More Love” with Julia Roberts were filmed there. After the release of the movie, Padangbai Beach became even more popular. To those who don't love large quantity people on the beach, it is best to come here in the morning and before lunch.

“The water is warm, the waves are low, the sand is fine and pleasant. A wonderful beach in a cozy cove with a beautiful landscape. It’s not always possible to swim, but we managed to thoroughly enjoy the clear water of an unusually beautiful color. Only pleasant impressions!”

Bali welcomes tourists all year round. There are no four seasons familiar to Europeans here. In the winter months the weather is as comfortable as in the summer months, but this is the rainy season.
