Australia is an incredible country with something new for everyone. If you love animals, then first of all visit the East Coast, if you prefer landscape, then follow to the West of Australia. Australia has many excellent cities, I personally liked Sydney, Melbourne, Perth (even though Canberra is the capital of Australia, there are not many places worth seeing there). When visiting Australia, it is best to rent a car. It may be expensive, but it will allow you to see much more, and not depend on standard tourist routes, but choose for yourself what is worth visiting. The main cities on the continent are a must-see, but in the article I present 10 others best places in the countries that in my opinion should be visited in Australia.
1 Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia after Tasmania and Melville Island. To get to Kangaroo Island you need to take the ferry from Adelaide. Many tourists prefer to visit Phillip Island rather than go to Kangaroo Island. Having visited both islands, I can say that I found the island more interesting. True, the weather was cool that day, and I didn’t take a jacket with me, which I very much regretted. So, when you go to the island, it is better to take something warm with you. Kangaroo Island is home to white wallabies, which I was lucky enough to see, sea lions and small blue penguins that emerge at sunset to forage for food. I really liked that there are few tourists on the island and you can calmly enjoy observing nature and animals. I am also delighted with the excursion conducted local resident islands.
Fraser Island has a fantastic location. It is the world's largest sand island, spreading over 1840 km2. It is not right that some tourists try to choose between a trip to Fraser Island and a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. If you have the opportunity, visit both - you won't be disappointed. Most tours start on the mainland in Hervey Bay, where you can book a tour, pick up your vehicle and take the ferry to Fraser Island. You just need to buy food and drinks before departure. You can spend two to three days on the Island exploring everything interesting places. Don't miss the famous "Champagne Pool" (champagne pool), where you can lie down, and the "River Mojeto", where you can take exceptional photos. Just beware of dingoes. They run around camping areas at night in search of food and are not afraid to approach people.
3 Great Barrier Reef
No trip to Australia would be complete without visiting. The world-famous reef is located near Queensland and is the world's largest coral reef, spanning 2,600 km and containing more than 900 islands. Most famous island It's called Trinity Day. If one of your friends has already visited East Coast Australia, then you have probably already seen a postcard with a picture of this island. I would recommend visiting these islands by boat, ideal over a few days to see as much as possible. You can also scuba dive and enjoy the incredible cuisine that is often served on the boats. There are many types of tours on sale that take tourists to the coastal town of Airlie Beach, and you can always choose the right price option for you. The Great Barrier Reef has all sorts of incredible fish including clownfish, red bass, redthroat emperor, tiger shark and yellowface angelfish, and don't forget the beautiful colored corals too. Just be careful not to touch the coral - it hurts!
4 Kakadu National Park
Kakadu National Park is located in the Northern Territory and covers an area of 4,894,000 acres. Here you will also get to know the alligator river that flows through the park. Of course, you can go to Kakadu on your own, but I would recommend taking a tour. The tours will give you the opportunity to meet local Aboriginal people who have chosen to stay in their ancestral homes instead of moving to the cities. I enjoyed an evening walk to Twins Falls, where you had to swim 200 m to reach the falls, but I heard that you can also get there on foot. Please note that you should not plan your trip during the rainy season as large parts of the park are closed and the crocodiles come out of the water to play! and this is unsafe! Before traveling to Australia, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the information about the dangers. 
The Red Center consists of three locations: the orange-red rock of Uluru Rock, the Kata Juta mountain range, and Kings Canyon. When visiting Uluru Rock, you can choose 2 options: walk around it, or climb it. Many tourists prefer to climb the rock, but the aborigines warn that this is not worth doing, since Uluru is one of their spiritual monuments. Walking around the rock I saw that the ancient paintings date back 10,000 years, it is a fantastic walk, but for me it turned out to be quite tiring. It seemed to me that Kata-Juta was a more impressive mountain. Kata Juta is located 25 km from Uluru, has 36 sandstone domes, and covers an area of almost 22 km². Here you can go on an 8 km walk through the boulders; I liked the walk because it gives me a feeling of peace, because when you slowly walk around mountain range, a light breeze blows across your face.
The final part of the trilogy is Kings Canyon, which has a height of 300 meters. Like the other two mountains - this incredible place, and there are two walk options to choose from. The first is 2 km long, which runs at the base of the gorge. But, if you want to see Kings Canyon in its entirety, you should still choose a route that completely covers the entire canyon.
Purnululu National Park is located in Western Australia. Unfortunately, due to its location, this part of the country is rarely visited by tourists. No wonder, Western Australia is my favorite part of Australia. It is very beautiful here and you will rarely meet other travelers. When you visit Purnulul National Park, the first place to visit is Bungle Bungle. Bungle Bungle is a tiger-striped sandstone rock. This is something incredible! You can walk around the Bungle Bungle or view it from a helicopter. A helicopter flight is expensive (at least for me), but I still looked at the view from above, and I didn’t regret it, since the impressions I got were worth it.
7 Port Broome
The port and town of Broome in Western Australia is not as famous as Purnululu National Park. However, if you're interested in exploring Australia's pearly capital, be sure to plan a trip to Broome. This is the place where the most pearls are mined, where one in 10 pearls is found. best beaches Australia. Broome is the most relaxing place I've ever been to. Here it feels like time is disappearing. I planned to stay in Broome for a couple of days, but ended up staying for a week. And my brother, whom I advised to stay in Broome for a week, stayed for 2 weeks. It's interesting to watch a movie in the evening open air and then sit at the bar. This is a special place! Be sure to visit! You will not regret it!
In the Barossa Valley I fell in love with. The Barossa Valley is Australia's most famous wine region, producing famous brands such as Penfolds, Orlando Wines, Wolf Blass and Yalamba. I enjoyed the sightseeing tour of the Valley and visits to wineries. If possible, then you should not drive a car yourself to enjoy the taste of wine, without worrying about how you get behind the wheel after that. During the tour, I visited 5 wineries, where I had the opportunity to taste different types of wine, and enjoy three types of lunch, including kangaroo, crocodile and white sea bass. True, I didn’t eat kangaroo meat, I feel sorry for such a wonderful animal, but I tried crocodile and perch. It was delicious. I also advise you to try it!
Byron's Bay is a coastal area in New South Wales. After visiting Sydney and Brisbane, you'll immediately notice that Byron Bay provides a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Byron's Bay is full of artists, giving the trip a creative, bohemian feel. Bay - a good place to relax and buy unusual gifts for family and friends. There are many pools in the bay, even near the beach, and you can relax, enjoying the peace and swimming in the warm water.
The Great Ocean Road stretches along the southeast coast of Australia in the state of Victoria between Torquay and Warrnambool and is 243 km long. During the trip, tourists enjoy amazing scenery from special observation points. I really liked the rocks jutting out from the ocean called “The Twelve Apostles.” This is a very photogenic place, especially at sunset and sunrise. I enjoyed the views of nature all day long to see all the sights in detail, and I recommend it to you too. There are various options for day tours, but I think it's better to travel on your own to stop where you like, not where the guide recommends.
