How to get the most out of the Aeroflot bonus. How to use Aeroflot Bonus points What can you buy with Aeroflot Bonus miles

Today, the air carrier Aeroflot offers travelers various privileges. There is a special program for regular customers - here, with each purchase of an air ticket, the company credits the passenger with miles. When you collect the required number of award points, you can spend the points on any airline service, even book a flight for free. This program has been running since 1999, and today 1,500,000 tourists are already involved. Let’s clarify the rules of the promotion and find out how to pay for a trip with Aeroflot miles.

Airlines award full points on every ticket purchased. The amount of bonuses received is directly determined by the cost of the air ticket, the chosen route and the distance. Each company has its own table, which indicates the amount of accrual, the type of service for which bonus points were received and how to spend the reward. Most carriers total the miles collected over the year and subsequently give the passenger access to new bonus programs and privileges. Here, clients have access to free luggage space, flight class upgrades, and fast .

Airlines determine passenger status using cards of different levels. Moreover, a third party can also use the points collected by the tourist: a friend, colleague or relative. Here you will have to pay only for aviation fuel or not pay for the route at all. The flight will cost you half price or become free - this moment determines the number of points earned and the specific conditions of the flight.

Moreover, there are many options for accumulation. A common method today is to issue a card for payments from a partner bank and receive the collected bonuses monthly. This is a good and fast way, but airlines do not consider such points to be valuable. Accordingly, you will not be able to use reward points to obtain an airline card.

Company employees also name other options for participating in the Aeroflot Bonus program. Mileage accrual is also available when interacting with carrier partners. This list includes hotels, restaurants and car parks. You can spend the collected bonuses here on booking an air ticket or other services offered by the aviation company. In most cases, the carrier's partners provide travelers with a catalog containing goods or services for which they can earn reward points.

Collection rules

The airline's offer allows the passenger to earn a certain number of points for each purchase, and then spend the points on various carrier services. The number of bonus accruals is related to the prices of purchased air tickets, flight distance and other nuances. It is appropriate to check with the carrier who the airlines cooperate with and where you can receive rewards for purchases. In some cases, clients receive bonuses for taking out insurance or subscribing to magazines and books.Passengers use the accumulated miles to buy promotional tickets, hotels give tourists discounts on accommodation, and the class of the booked ticket is upgraded.

In addition, here you will be able to participate in various promotions or count on the privileges of issuing cards for payments from Sberbank of Russia.The project is available to airline clients whose age exceeds 2 years. For children aged two to twelve, the developers offer the Aeroflot Bonus Junior package. Moreover, the accumulation rules here are similar to the standard conditions - after all, the promotion is personalized for all participants. If you travel frequently and plan to participate in the program, you will have to register.

Airline regulations provide for two types of accumulation: specialized and non-qualified. To start collecting points, you will need to buy an air ticket or products from the carrier's partners. Customers exchange qualifying points for a more comfortable class and award tickets. Non-specialized points are promotional accruals that are received for purchasing products from the carrier’s partners and do not provide for increasing the passenger’s prestige.

If you received a plastic card from a partner bank, it provides for the collection of a certain number of bonuses - such functions are determined by the type of financial institution services used. For using the Aeroflot Classic Card, the company counts a mile per unit of currency or for a purchase with a plastic card in the amount of over 50 rubles, which the passenger spends. If you have a gold card, the company estimates similar expenses at one and a half points. There is a separate reward for new clients. Registration of a classic card will bring 500 points to your account, and a gold one – 1000.

Determining the number of bonus points

You can check the status of your active account in the following ways:

  • by mail;
  • on the official website of the carrier;
  • via telephone.

Every year, the carrier sends out letters to customers indicating the number of points they have accumulated. If information is needed now and there is no time to wait for a letter, it is advisable to visit the company’s website. There is no need for additional search or entering special data. To view the status of the account, the passenger enters the Personal Area, where you can study the balance of bonus points.

The online calculator will help you decide how many miles you need for a free Aeroflot flight or the number of bonuses received for purchasing an air ticket. Readers will find a similar option. Please note that this information depends on several factors, including customer status and flight duration.

If you visited the site for the first time, you just need to complete a simple registration. You will need to enter your passport data into the system and leave a contact e-mail. After filling out the form, you will receive an email with the specified link. The traveler just has to go to the required address to confirm his account.

A quick way to find out about the availability of bonus points at a financial institution for a promotion is by using your phone. Contact the official representative of the company and give the employee the initials and serial number the participant indicated on the card. Today there is a toll-free line for residents of Russia: 8-800-444-55-55.

How to spend received miles

Let's consider the conditions of the Aeroflot group. Bonus miles: how to spend your savings and whether you can transfer points to other passengers. Today, the program involves purchasing premium air tickets, increasing the comfort of the flight, reserving a hotel, and donating the proceeds to charity. In addition, here you can use offers from partners or pay for travel with miles.

Award tickets

First, let's get down to the question of how to use Aeroflot bonus miles when buying a ticket. Here airlines offer customers to go through the following algorithm:

  1. Call and authorization. The passenger contacts the airline's call center and determines the status of program participant.
  2. Payment. Here you can transfer money using voice dialing and a bank card. To send funds, you will need to follow the operator's prompts.

Bonus miles can be used to purchase an award ticket

In addition, you will have to issue an air ticket at the carrier's office. Such actions are advisable after the passenger receives a secret code, which will be sent by email. Such flights can only be paid for on Aeroflot flights at least 6 hours before the departure of the aircraft.

Improving travel conditions

If you intend to upgrade your flight class, there are two known ways: prior agreement when purchasing air tickets and registration at the counter at the airport. Both options allow you to transfer bonuses to a third party. Moreover, an advance class upgrade is available when purchasing a ticket in both directions and subject to free seats of the required category on board. Here, the cost of upgrading conditions from an economy flight to Business class will be the price of a round-trip premium air ticket. If you upgrade your service to Comfort class, the passenger spends half as many miles.

It is quite popular among passengers to use bonuses to upgrade their flight class.

As for the second method, here the function is available during flight check-in. The passenger will receive the desired seat if there are free seats in the required class and a sufficient number of points to pay.It is noteworthy that registration at the counter will cost half as much as a preliminary reservation. That is, when upgrading the quality of a flight by 2 classes, the client pays 50% of the cost of a premium ticket, and by 1 – 25%. However, when flying with connections, it will be possible to improve conditions only on the first leg of the journey. In addition, here the tourist receives a boarding pass for the class of the purchased air ticket, which is exchanged for the required document after boarding begins.

Alternative use of bonus savings

Today there is an exchange that cooperates with carriers. Here travelers buy and sell accumulated bonuses. Typically, such actions prevent points from being burned. When the accumulated miles are not enough to pay for the desired function, it is advisable to purchase the missing points here.

The missing bonuses can be purchased on the exchange or received as a gift

In addition, you can get points for free. The way the system works here is similar to the functioning of an exchange, but when donating bonus miles, the tourist does not receive income. If you intend to give bonuses, when receiving a bonus certificate, it is enough to draw up paperwork in the name of another person. This procedure is appropriate no later than two days before departure. In addition, passengers have the right to donate points to charity.

It is good to remember that collected miles expire over time. Bonuses are written off after two years of non-use of collected points. Prices for receiving bonuses depend on the cost of the flight, route and traveler status. Fuel surcharges are not included in the carrier point price. Typically, every ruble spent is equal to one mile, but there are exceptions.

Readers will be able to clarify the specific nuances and conditions on the carrier’s official portal. And you can find out about the rules for transporting baggage by this airline.

Since 1999, Aeroflot has launched a program to award passengers bonus miles for every purchase of company air tickets.
The amount of bonus accruals is related to the duration and price of the flight, passenger status, and flight class.
The card status also affects the number of bonuses received - owners elite cards get one and a half times more miles
It is convenient to check the status of your bonus account on the airline website

Bonus projects are organized by many international aviation companies, and Aeroflot did not stand aside. In 1999, the Aeroflot Bonus project was created, within the framework of which a passenger who has purchased a ticket or taken advantage of offers from partner companies receives interest on their account, called miles. Today the number of project participants exceeds 1.5 million. The number of bonuses awarded is determined by the class, duration of the journey, and other factors. The accumulated miles can be used to purchase air tickets, change class, or stay at a partner hotel.

  3. If the distance traveled is less than 500 miles, then the passenger receives a fixed amount of 500 points.
  4. Silver, gold and platinum clients receive additional non-qualifying miles for each flight.
  5. Bonuses are awarded taking into account all route segments - sections of the path from one point to another.
  6. The client can receive bonuses even for trips made 6 months before joining the project. But to do this, at least 3 months before receiving the card, you need to indicate the necessary information in the “Accrue miles” block in your account.

And on online trading platforms you need to make purchases by going from the catalog of an Aeroflot partner store.
  4. After paying, wait 2 months. During this time, miles are registered. If after the specified time the bonuses have not appeared on the account, then you must fill out an application requesting the reinstatement of miles and send it to the carrier. Buying Aeroflot miles - honest ways

Naturally, there are many scammers on exchanges.

Many airlines have a cumulative loyalty system, thanks to which you can get a very profitable bonus. This program may be of interest to those whose activities involve frequent flights due to business trips. Essentially, miles are the units by which an air carrier measures customer loyalty.

Such programs are very similar to the savings systems of many large supermarkets, where the client is awarded points (“miles”) for purchasing goods (tickets). In the future, they can be spent on other goods (exchanged for another ticket, or book a hotel, rent a car).

Bonus miles from low-cost airlines come in two types and status ones. The first are the category of bonuses that can be spent on purchasing a ticket or upgrading the class of service. These bonuses have an expiration date after which they expire. They are valid from 20 to 36 months, during which time they must be completely spent. Status miles can also be exchanged for various awards. They influence the status of their owner. The more such “miles” a client has in his account, the more important he becomes. Miles in this category expire after one year.

A little history of the program

This system of receiving profitable benefits originated in the company 15 years ago, in 1999, but Aeroflot is not a pioneer in this bonus program. For the first time, loyal customers of Transaero airlines had the opportunity to enjoy benefits from participating in it 4 years earlier.

In the last decade, there has been rapid development of the bonus program, new relevant opportunities have appeared in it, because of this it was possible to attract 500 thousand clients. The opportunity to participate in it was provided not only to Russian citizens, but also to foreigners who used the services of this airline.

Brief description of the bonus system

The essence of the program to support loyal customers is as follows: for each flight on comfortable aircraft the company will be awarded certain bonuses. After purchasing an Aeroflot airline ticket, miles are credited to the participant's account. Their number depends on a number of the following factors: total flight distance, selected class of service, current program participant status.

Who can participate in this bonus system?

Registration in the Aeroflot Bonus system is a simple procedure; age and citizenship do not matter. Children under 12 years of age must declare their participation in a similar subprogram, Aeroflot Bonus Junior. Apart from the name, it does not have any special differences. Aeroflot's rules on how to spend miles and accumulate them change periodically. In order to have these bonuses, you need to declare your participation in the system.

Rules for participation in the program

Becoming an official Aeroflot Bonus member is very simple. There are 3 convenient ways, you can use any of them:

  • submit the completed application form at the nearest Aeroflot representative office or at an authorized sales point;
  • fill out an online application on the company’s official website;
  • become the owner of any partner card of the program, for example, Sberbank issues miles for the Aeroflot company. How to spend them is described below.

Any of the listed methods requires the presentation of passport data of the future participant, his detailed contact and personal information. After registration, an individual number is issued in the system.

The client becomes a full-fledged participant in the bonus program when more than 2,000 miles are accumulated on the account. Upon reaching this level, a plastic official participant card with an individual number is issued, which also contains the full name. owner. The card is delivered by mail to the specified address. After accumulating the required number of award points, their owner will already know exactly how to spend the miles. Aeroflot Bonus is indeed a very profitable and convenient system.

Types of bonus miles

Now it is very important to understand the questions of how to spend Aeroflot miles and accumulate them, as well as what types there are.

This company has two main types of points:

  • Qualification-type “miles” that are awarded directly for air travel. The client receives these bonuses not only for purchasing tickets for existing Aeroflot flights, but also for purchasing travel documents from partner companies. Each declared partner has its own restrictions and certain rules; every Aeroflot client needs to familiarize themselves with them. How to spend your miles wisely? This question worries every participant. With the help of qualifying type bonuses, you can take a free flight by exchanging them for the desired ticket, or upgrade your class of service or status level in the program itself.
  • Non-qualifying bonus miles, which are awarded for purchasing various goods and using services from partner companies. For this type of incentive, the conditions and procedure for their accrual are constantly changing. How can I spend my accumulated miles? Aeroflot offers only one way for this type of bonus - receiving various benefits during check-in and during the flight. In order to spend premium bonuses, you must first accumulate them over a certain point in time.

Saving methods

The main ways to earn the coveted “miles”:

  • You must travel on the same airline or through its partners. This is the easiest way to save, it is optimal for those who often move due to business trips or visit relatives. This method is also relevant for fans of a particular country for vacation. For such tourists, you can choose the most optimal bonus program, which allows you to significantly save money without changing your plans.
  • Purchasing goods and services from the main partners of the program (payment for hotels, car rental, restaurant meals). It is much more profitable for them to rent a car or stay in a comfortable hotel from the list presented. Additional “miles” are assigned to the card for purchased services.
  • Use of special bank cards. Many large banking organizations offer favorable debit or credit cards, which help you fly profitably. When making purchases, a certain percentage of the amount spent is credited to the client's personal mileage account. For example, for every dollar or euro spent, 1 “mile” is added to the account. These “miles” are bonus ones, they can be exchanged and spent, but they do not affect status upgrades.

Additional sources of accumulation

To reward their customers, many companies add additional “miles” to them in the following cases:

  • upon initial entry into the program, welcome miles are awarded;
  • Holiday miles are issued to reward loyal customers on their birthday;
  • you can earn “miles” for activity on social networks - for writing reviews, participating in various competitions, games or quizzes from the airline;
  • additional “miles” are issued for subscribing to the company’s newsletter;
  • "miles" purchased on the airline's website or from other bonus card holders.

Many customers accumulate miles in hopes of receiving a specific benefit. Aeroflot also has a similar program to support its loyal customers. With the help of bonuses, it is possible to get real benefits for those who fly frequently. When accumulating bonuses, many people have a question about what they can spend Aeroflot miles on. Let's try to answer it.

Where to use bonuses?

These “miles” are awarded by Aeroflot for regular flights, their value depends on the distance the client has traveled by air, as well as on the class of service. Each participant in the bonus program is given a certain status, which also affects the amount of bonus miles. The terms of the program are subject to frequent changes; for a more accurate calculation of possible savings, Aeroflot offers a miles calculator.

You can spend bonuses at your own discretion. It is also possible to accumulate them when making purchases, when payments are made using a card from a partner bank. Many of the country's leading financial institutions have actively joined this program. Sberbank also offers a special “Airport Bonus”. Bonuses are awarded for opening new card, every dollar spent adds one bonus mile to the card.

Everyone can take advantage of all the benefits of cooperation with Aeroflot. All bonus card holders also need to know how to spend “miles” from Sberbank. Bonus units are spent in the standard way: on a free flight with this airline or its official partners, on the next increase in client status, on hotel bookings or car rentals. Moreover, these conditions apply almost throughout the world. Now another direction has become popular. How to spend Aeroflot miles for the benefit of others? With their help, you can participate in a special charity program, helping those in need.

What are qualifying bonuses used for?

The qualifying miles accumulated on the account must be spent in one of the proposed ways, otherwise the client risks losing all the benefits from their use. What can you spend Aeroflot miles on:

  • Become the owner of an award ticket on an existing flight of one of the partner companies that is part of the SkyTeam group. All commission fees are paid by the passenger himself.
  • Upgrade your current service class if you wish. By purchasing an economy class discount ticket, you have the opportunity to use all the business class privileges when paying with bonus miles.
  • Pay bills from partner companies.

This is the main thing that those who have an Aeroflot cumulative bonus card need to know. We have discussed in detail how to spend miles and what they are needed for.

Privileged statuses for program participants

The client receives full rights to participate in the program at the time of initial accumulation of 2,000 bonus miles. After fulfilling this condition, he is issued a basic participant card. There are 2 more privileged status- silver and gold. They are called SkyTeam Elite and SkyTeam Elite Plus.

To receive a SkyTeam Elite silver card, a client must accumulate 25 thousand miles in a calendar year, and to achieve gold status - 50 thousand miles. When a client reaches a new level, his card is automatically replaced with an individual card of the appropriate design and color. Such programs are beneficial to those customers who fly regularly throughout the year. For those who travel by plane occasionally, accumulating the required points will not be easy. When signing up for an airline program, it is important to know where to spend your bonuses. Aeroflot offers to use miles in different ways.

Possibility of buying and selling premium bonuses

Of course, in the literal sense, bonuses cannot be sold or purchased. But there are times when a client has accumulated the required number of “miles” to purchase a ticket, but for some reason he cannot sell them. In this case, you should negotiate with another person so that the ticket does not disappear. This way you can use your accumulated points. This is another option available to Aeroflot customers.

How to spend “miles” if the trip is cancelled? Look for someone to sell a ticket to. In this case, points do not expire, but appear in the form of a cash equivalent. But there is one more nuance: in order to avoid fraud, it is advisable to carry out all operations in special sales centers of the air carrier.

Procedure for donating award miles from Aeroflot

How to spend miles? You can give them to your loved ones and relatives. The entire procedure follows the scheme described above, only the owner does not receive any remuneration, and the ticket is issued free of charge. The ticket goes to the recipient. You will also need the personal passport information of the person to whom the award ticket is addressed. You also need to present the card and provide all the data of the donor. There is one limitation: the client can donate his accumulated points no more than 10 times a year. This is perhaps the most recent answer to the question of where to spend bonuses. Aeroflot distributes miles to its most active and loyal customers.

Friends invited me to Barcelona for a Metallica concert.

We have already bought and booked everything ourselves. We are happy with how we saved on tickets: we fly with Aeroflot Bonus miles. I've been in the program for ten years now, so I don't skip the details.

Grigory Yaroshenko

counts miles

For nothing, the friend beams, only 30,000 miles and fees.

A check on the Aeroflot website confirms my doubts: this is the case when it is better to buy with money. I'll tell you why.

What are Aeroflot Bonus miles?

Miles are the units by which the airline measures passenger loyalty. The same scheme applies here as in stores: you buy goods, receive bonuses, and spend them on other goods. In this case, you buy tickets, get miles, and spend them on other tickets, hotels or car rentals.

The Aeroflot Bonus program encourages the loyalty of frequent flyers by awarding miles for using the company's services. They don't have an official cash value, but you can calculate the price when you use them because you'll be exchanging a certain number of miles for a service with a certain value. And just like when exchanging currency, you can return your accumulated bonus miles at a favorable or unfavorable rate.

The more often you fly, the more bonuses you receive and the higher your status. The program has three elite levels: silver, gold and platinum. Members of these elite levels can receive additional miles for each flight on an Aeroflot or program partner airline.

What are miles awarded for?

Loyalty program "Aeroflot Bonus" offers two ways to accumulate miles: fly Aeroflot flights and use the services of partners.

These miles are called qualifying miles. To switch from basic level for the next one, silver, you need to collect 25,000 qualifying miles in a year or fly somewhere with Aeroflot 25 times.

Miles in the Aeroflot Bonus program are awarded for flights on regular flights of Aeroflot or airlines that have become partners of the program. When purchasing tickets, you need to pay attention to the tariffs: not all tariffs are included in the accrual of miles.

Miles in the program are given based on the distance in miles between the airports of departure and arrival and the fare indicated on the ticket. Miles are earned only for completed flights.

Miles are awarded for each leg of the journey. Such segments are called flight segments. If you fly on a flight Moscow - Istanbul - Delhi, you will have two flight segments. If on any of these segments of the journey you purchased a ticket at a fare that does not contribute to the accrual of miles, you will not be credited with miles for that flight segment.

For flights less than 500 miles, the member's account will be credited with 500 miles. If you flew on a partner airline, miles may be calculated differently.

This is the case when the agreement between Aeroflot and the partner requires a different payment procedure. You can find out how miles will be credited in this case in the “Partners” section.

If you have already flown on regular Aeroflot flights and only later registered in the loyalty program, you will be credited with qualifying miles for all flights that occurred within 6 months before the date of registration in the program, if tickets were purchased at fares that participate in the accrual of miles. "Aeroflot Bonus" To take these flights into account in the program, enter data about them in your personal account in the “Accrue miles” section or send to flight documentation - a copy of the itinerary receipt and originals or copies boarding passes

. You have 3 months to do this from the date of registration in the program. If there is a forced transfer from one Aeroflot flight to another or to a partner airline flight and new route

will differ from the original one, miles will be credited to you based on the actual flight. If the flight is canceled and you are transferred to another airline that is not part of the program, you will not be credited with miles. Miles for purchasing goods or services from program partners.

If your work does not involve business travel and you can go on vacation a couple of times a year, it is more interesting to accumulate non-qualifying miles. They are received by using the goods and services of program partners: hotels, car rental services, restaurants, banks. These miles can only be used on an award ticket and do not count toward elite level qualification.

Miles for partner products are awarded to the member upon registration in the program. Goods and services purchased before registration are not included in the mileage collection. Not all partner products offer miles. You can find out what's included and what's not directly from the retailer.

The miles will automatically be credited to your account - this takes up to 60 days from the date of payment for the partner’s product or service, if you presented your program member card when paying. Moreover, this must be done before the check is generated for you. It is not possible to restore miles after payment has been made. "Aeroflot Bonus" application for miles reinstatement and a copy of the document confirming receipt of the service. You have one year from the date the partner provided the service. An exception is if the terms of cooperation between Aeroflot and this company require a different period.

Miles for hotel bookings. One of Aeroflot’s partners is the hotel booking service Booking.com. You can earn miles for booking hotels on this site. Please note: they will only be credited when you switch to Booking.com from the Aeroflot website. Miles are credited automatically no later than 60 days after the end of your stay at the hotel.

Please provide your program membership number when booking "Aeroflot Bonus". If you forget or enter the wrong one, you can update your details when confirming your booking.

If you are booking a room for several program participants "Aeroflot Bonus", miles will be credited to only one person.

In what cases are miles not awarded?

If you purchase something with miles, new miles will not be awarded at the same time for the purchase. Either accrual or write-off, but not both.

Miles are not awarded for lost, unused or expired tickets. Also, miles are not credited for award tickets, free tickets, air tickets to charter flights, air tickets paid at special rates.

It’s easier not to figure out what type of fare you have, but to determine before purchasing whether they will give you miles for your ticket. To do this, on the Aeroflot website, enter the city of departure and city of arrival and click “Find”.

How to check your miles

You can view the number of miles in your personal account on the airline’s website or call the Aeroflot call center.

Do miles have a price?

Miles are free. This is a loyalty reward. On the other hand, you can use them to pay for tickets. Miles become a means of payment between the passenger and the airline, a surrogate currency. Like any currency, miles have a rate. It may or may not be very profitable.

When you sell currency, for example euros, after a trip to Spain, you carefully choose an exchanger. It is not profitable to change for 68 rubles if on the next street they accept for 70. It’s the same with miles: when you buy an award ticket, you sell miles to Aeroflot. To sell a mile for more, you need to know how to value it.

How to calculate the price of a mile

For my friends, each ticket cost 30,000 miles and 5,880 rubles in fees:

By choosing the usual payment method, you can fly to Barcelona on the same dates and in the same economy class for 14,465 rubles:

If you subtract the amount of fees from the total cost of the ticket, and then divide the result by the mileage rate, you get the mileage rate:

(14 465 − 5880) / 30 000 = 0,286

Friends sold 30,000 miles at 28.6 kopecks per mile. Is it expensive or not very expensive?

To understand, I’ll compare it with another flight. A ticket to Havana costs 46,816 RUR:

And here are the conditions for an award ticket in the same direction:

70,000 miles in exchange for 33,796 rubles. This option is better - now a mile costs 48 kopecks.

To make full use of the Aeroflot Bonus, you need to get into the habit of counting miles and their value. It will help you not only sell miles more expensively, but also accumulate them faster.

How to earn miles if you rarely fly

The easiest way to earn miles is by using the services of program partners. The list includes dozens of companies, from Sberbank to the Moskhoztorg store. There is only one principle: when you spend money, you get miles as a bonus.

For example, every 30 rubles left at any of the Novikov Group restaurants brings one mile to your account. And ordering food through the Delivery Club service costs the same mile for every 23 rubles. A condition applies to Internet services: you need to go to the partner’s website from the Aeroflot Bonus program page.

Aeroflot Bonus and partner banks

The easiest way to earn miles is by using a card from a partner bank. Many banks offer joint programs: credit and debit cards. You pay for your usual expenses and receive miles in return. For a certain amount spent on the card during a month or another period established by the bank, you will be credited with a certain number of miles.

Partners change, and it is better to keep an eye on this. When a new bank appears in the program, its cards usually earn more miles than the cards of banks that are veterans of the program.

Typically, mileage cards have several statuses. The higher the status, the more miles it generates. A mid-tier card gives you more miles than a regular card, and a premium card gives you even more.

You can save on the cost of cards. Banks regularly hold promotions, you just need to ask. It’s like a discount: you won’t get it unless you ask. A platinum credit card brought me 60,000 Aeroflot miles last year. The grace period ended and I closed it without losses.

What to do if banks do not offer interesting conditions. First, remember that a mile has a price - let’s determine it around 38 kopecks based on the results of the two examples given. Then estimate the monthly expenses that you are willing to pay by card. Finally, compare how many miles the card will accumulate in a year.

How many miles will I accumulate in a year if I spend 140,000 rubles per month?

Premium

The average card will earn 14,000 more miles than the base card. At our rate, this is 5,320 rubles, which covers the cost of annual card maintenance. It makes sense to take it. But the premium one falls short: you need to spend more or choose another card.

How long do miles last?

The validity period of miles depends on the terms of the loyalty program. For example, ALL Airlines miles last 5 years, and Aeroflot miles expire if you don’t fly for money at least once every 2 years.

In order not to lose the miles you have received, find out how long they will remain valid and what needs to be done to prevent them from expiring.

When and how to spend

The program is designed in such a way that the cost of a mile depends on the amount you spend on the flight. The higher the ticket price, the more expensive miles you can sell to Aeroflot. This was the case in the example above with Barcelona and Havana.

The most high price per mile will be when upgrading from economy to business. You will have to buy premium economy - this does not work with lower fares - and spend the same number of miles as you need for an award ticket. But the cost of a mile will be more than one ruble - you will be able to save a lot on a business class flight. But you need to understand that you are paying extra for comfort, and not for additional kilometers in the sky.

If you are not ready to spend money on premium economy, you need to catch special offers. Interesting options for a vacation or short trip can be found in the Light Award promotion, when the mileage cost of flights is reduced by a quarter. The promotion takes place several times a year and includes popular destinations. The airline's newsletter notifies you of the start of Light Award.

The cheapest miles are priced in the Aeroflot Bonus online store. There you can buy a suitcase, a tenth iPhone or a movie. Before you think about buying, remember our lessons in mileage arithmetic. Calculate where it is more profitable to buy.

How to transfer miles to another person

The Aeroflot Bonus program has a Miles Transfer service. With it, you can transfer your miles to another person. A prerequisite is that the account of the participant who is transferring bonus miles has at least one Aeroflot flight in the last 24 months for which miles were given. To transfer miles you must be registered in the program "Aeroflot Bonus" no less than 90 days before the miles transfer date.

You can transfer no more than 50,000 miles per calendar year and no more than 5,000 miles per transaction. The number of miles transferred must be a multiple of 500.

The recipient will be able to accept a maximum of 50,000 miles from one or different people. This amount must be within 10 transactions within one calendar year.

Bonus miles transferred will be non-qualifying for the recipient and will not affect promotion to an elite tier or retention in the elite tier of the program.

Aeroflot charges a commission for transferring miles. You will see it in the member’s personal account in the “Spend miles” section when making a transfer. This is a fixed amount - 600 rubles for each transaction. Payment is made in rubles.

Elite members are allowed to transfer miles with a mileage fee of 20% of the number of miles transferred. The following limits apply to transfers with a commission in miles:

  • Silver members can transfer no more than 10,000 miles per calendar year;
  • Gold level members - no more than 20,000 miles per calendar year;
  • Platinum members - no more than 30,000 miles per calendar year. For other transfers the commission will be in rubles.

You cannot cancel a completed transfer of miles: you will not be able to return bonus miles and commissions transferred from your account.

Is it possible to buy or sell Aeroflot miles?

Aeroflot prohibits the sale of bonus miles, including by transferring them for a fee. If they find out that someone has sold or bought miles, Aeroflot has the right to cancel the accumulated miles, cancel or block the account for any period, and cancel the elite level of the seller and buyer. Expenses will not be reimbursed.

Remember

  1. You don't have to be an avid traveler to fly for miles.
  2. Paying with miles means paying with money.
  3. With a bank card, you can actually fly with miles once a year. When choosing a card, it is useful to count the miles and their value.
  4. It is wise to plan your vacation with Light Award in mind.
  5. Aeroflot Bonus is not the best place to buy a tenth iPhone.

Due to the crisis, it has become more difficult to accumulate bonus miles for an award flight - banks have increased their cost, and airlines have increased the taxes and fees required to purchase a ticket. In addition, if there is no income to the bonus account for several years, the accumulated miles “burn out.” Not everyone knows that even a small number of miles can be spent.
