Madrid Tourist Bus Rates

The ticket can be used on both routes.

When buying tickets on the site madrid.city-tour.com there is a system of discounts. They can also be purchased at the main ticketing point on Felipe IV, between the Prado Museum and the Ritz, and on the buses themselves.

When buying a ticket, you will be given headphones for listening to an audio guide, a map of two routes and a book with discount coupons for other tourist attractions.

To find tourist bus stops on the streets of Madrid, you need to look for special poles in red or blue with the designation of this type of transport and routes. Some of the stops are combined with public transport stops, where you can also find all the information about the bus route.

The easiest way to get acquainted with the sights of Madrid is the Madrid City Tour, or in other words Bus Turistic - a system of tourist buses running around the city. This type of transport is available in many large European cities - I first met on the example of Madrid (and, accordingly, I will talk about the Madrid version of the bass tourist).
UPD: I was told that Madrid City Tour and Bus Turistic are two different operators. In Madrid, there is only City Tour, therefore, upon request, Bus Turistic only issues it. Actually, that's why I call them now and then - they are synonyms. But let's say in Barcelona - they are different things. We must also go there and look =)

Madrid City Tour - outwardly very noticeable red double-decker buses. Run on the historic center usually with many stops. At first, you freak out when such a colossus starts to drive towards you on a narrow street (in one of the squares I ran away from such a thing - for while photographing the buildings I did not notice how the bus drove around the corner), but you quickly get used to it and stop being surprised.

You can buy a one-day ticket - 20 euros or a two-day ticket for 25. If you have a ticket, you can get on and off the bus at any stop (each stop is indicated on the map). Thus, you can not only go to survey the surroundings, but also use it as a transport to get from one point to another:

The buses are double-decker - there are places for disabled people and all kinds of wheelchairs on the first floors, but I preferred to ride on the second floor. Each seat is equipped with an audio guide in 16 languages - you choose which one you need and you go and enjoy (Russian was numbered 7). By the way, the guide's stories are interspersed with quite pleasant jazz music - at least it made me wildly happy.

Actually, the standard set of the ticket includes a map, headphones and various other discount coupons in all kinds of shops and eateries.

On the top floor it is also very convenient that you can open the windows (which I constantly used to take some pictures straight from the window), also the roof of each bus leans back, but since it was in winter and sometimes it rained, the roofs were mostly closed :

A rare exception is the open top. The day was really warm and sunny:

Well, and, accordingly, a lot of filming leaning out of the window. Although, of course, there are such narrow streets there - it is worth doing this very carefully (often buses, and any transport go practically in grinding with walls):

Madrid has two tourist routes- there are several points of intersection to change from one to the second. The end of the first is next to the Prado Museum and the Ritz Hotel, the end of the second is next to Neptune Square:

In addition to the main routes, there are also extended paths: some buses report that the bus follows an extended path (they are also indicated on the map with a punch line). For example, the first route, on its extended version, enters the embankment of the Manzanares River and even crosses it in one place along the bridge. The second route does not turn off near the Santiago Bernabeo stadium, but goes further directly in the AZCA area to the Plaza of Castilla and the Gates of Europe - the place where I never reached (((
In general, it can be said that Route 1 is "old Madrid", Route 2 is "Madrid modern". Accordingly, the first is more interesting for detailed study.

Usually I advise people to use Bass Turistik for a quick exploration of the city, they say, "there is not much time - and you can see everything quickly." I believe that it is necessary to use this type of transport without fail: first of all we drove through the entire center in this way, studied what was where, and then we already mapped out the routes where to go, what to see, etc. And it just helps to navigate better. The useful thing is shorter.
