The hotel is located in a purely tourist village with some hotels, taverns and souvenir shops. The nearest beaches are dirty and uncomfortable. The buildings in the hotel are placed at the maximum distance to each other, so there is a very high probability that neighbors will look through your windows. The windows of our room, plus everything, overlooked the neighboring 5-star hotel, where there was animation all day long, and the speakers shouted in our direction, so it was impossible to sleep until 22:30 - the music was thundering. The room is very small, the beds are hard, the springs stuck in all parts of the body. Bed linen was changed once in 10 days, towels twice. The food is monotonous, but quite edible. The hotel is not even worth its little money.

Loved the staff. We checked in quickly, the shower head was out of order. As soon as I turned to the reception, they immediately called the master to me and he not only fixed it in 2 minutes, but also washed the floors after him !!! Everyone is very friendly and always ready to help. The food was good! I took breakfasts / dinners, but you can also order lunch for 10 euros (it will turn out cheaper than eating in a cafe). We are resting in this hotel for the second time. Last year we bought a tour for a week, it wasn’t enough, and by itself it was decided that in Crete this is the only place where we are ready to stay a second time.
In June, we arrived with our family for three whole weeks to see everything for sure. We toured all the caves, all the islands, beaches, cities, visited all the palaces and saw, it seems, ... all the most beautiful places that ordinary tourists hardly manage to get to.
As for the hotel - everything is on top! The food, although not the most varied, is very tasty, home-style.
The staff is helpful, always ready to help, despite the language barrier, only one girl at the reception speaks a little Russian. Every Saturday they organize a Cretan evening (not the same, of course, to which we went to Anopoli, but the fact that it exists is a plus).
The hotel is located in the city center, next to a supermarket, shops, the beach is also close, not the first coastal one, of course, but still close enough. The rooms are cozy, clean, simple but tasteful.
The hotel is wonderful, I advise families in particular, the town is very nice, Crete is simply gorgeous - I recommend it to everyone.

Rested with my mother at the Triton hotel in Malia at the end of July this year. Everything was fine, I liked everything. The hotel is nice, comfortable, clean, very nice women at the reception, they tried to help, even without knowing the Russian language. At first we were settled on the first floor, of course we wanted a higher room with a large window and a balcony, but this was not available. Two days later, oud ... alos to find a room in the building across the street. There, of course, the room is not so new, the furniture is not in perfect condition, but on the third floor there was much more visibility.
The food in the restaurant was delicious, it can be seen that everything had just been prepared. The dishes are different, everything was enough. Ice cream, some desserts, watermelon and melons were available daily. They cleaned it regularly, everything that was needed was provided.
A traditional evening was held every Saturday. Everyone dined and then danced and had fun. The girls from the reception dressed in national Cretan costumes and amused the audience.
There was a maximum of 10 minutes walk to the sea, the weather, of course, was not always ideal, but this could no longer spoil the impressions of Crete and the rest. We came mostly for the sea, so we didn't go anywhere, and there was only a week of time, but I hope to come back one day and visit all the famous places for sure! Not far from Malia, just the cave of Zeus, Heraklion and the famous Spinalonga are located. This hotel I will gladly recommend it to friends, and in general to those who want a homely atmosphere and a relaxing holiday.

Until recently, I hoped that negative reviews ... you are written about Triton by fastidious and capricious vacationers, all this is nonsense and most importantly, because the sea, sun and a positive attitude. Because from a 3-star hotel it is difficult to wait for a five-star output, I was mentally prepared for possible shortcomings. To the fact that Malia is a party place, for the fact that they are worn on ATVs (and they are worn), too, was ready. Well ... haste is only important when catching fleas. If it were a cafe, the third time they would definitely not go. Tourists with children, especially small ones, I draw your attention - there are no cereals, soups, pancakes, purees, etc. Not just few or rare. This is not on the menu. But the cook doesn't care. For optimism, always good mood and friendliness.

5. Personnel.
The cook, the security guard, the cleaning ladies are the people who made me sympathetic.
Vaunted in many reviews, Nikos probably liked those tourists who were just trying to make friends with him. You know, this is when the one on whom you are dependent, you must definitely write it down as a friend, and then you begin to believe in his exclusivity. Well, he did not cause me any positive emotions. Well, it costs itself in the morning, afternoon and evening with a frown, with this look and meets and sees off guests. If someone comes up to take care of (and take pictures, as without it))) - will play this game. Just being friendly is not about him. And he did not even try to solve the problem, because the problem is in the management of the hotel itself, and this cannot be solved. And the lady manager is the same. For them, it's just business, no one is trying to raise the hotel's reputation.

6. Remoteness from the sea and, in principle, logistics. Walk to the beach for 10 minutes, depending on the pace and the chosen beach. Absolutely not bothered, especially in the morning. The sea is wonderful. Beach - sand, volcanic outgrowths and limestone are found on wild beaches. Sun loungers are paid everywhere, they belong either to hotels or coastal bars, but the beaches themselves are municipal, so you can safely fall wherever you want, despite the formidable scourge battles that require bribes. This is their job). We paid. The first day was trial and free, I wandered along the beach until I chose the beach I like - Dolphin Beach Bar. A day 2 sun loungers + umbrella + toilet + shower + any toys / mattresses for children + service on the beach + wi fi costs 6 euros, for 7 days - 25. Of course I paid for the wholesale. A nice Russian-speaking guy Alexander, who works in the bar itself, will help, tell and show. In the bar itself, everything is like everywhere else: 3 coffee, 5 cocktail, food 7-10 + - Because. I was on the beach already at 8 am and was alone until 10 practically, it could not but rejoice. The people creep out to fry by 11 in the bulk. When leaving, they left towels, and no one shaded on the sun loungers. There is no theft. The wind and, accordingly, the wave (sometimes a large one) was present for 7 days out of 12. I did not see the rescuers, perhaps this functionality is performed by the guys from the water entertainment center.
Much has been written about Malia, I will not repeat myself. To all the available pluses, I will add that when traveling through travel agencies along the east coast, you are the last to be picked up and the first to disembark from the bus, saving time of the order of 2-2, 5 hours, and a bunch of cafes-shops within walking distance from the hotel.

7. Actually, for the sake of which everything was started. Never, under any circumstances, choose this hotel if you usually sleep at night. And sleep in silence. I was glad that I went without a husband and eldest son, because obviously they would have spent their rest at the police station. Well, I am with them. Each of us can be aggressive, each can be brought to the boiling point. But what if this desire does not leave throughout the rest? If for 12 nights you slept in fits and starts for three hours a night, and the rest of the time you ran around the floors asking to calm down, called the security, smoked nervously and cried from impotence, that this hell does not end? There were moments when I realized that I could hit a person. And sometimes kill. How did the hotel solve the problem, you ask? No way. The first time they sympathized and promised to build everyone, then they promised to relocate me, then them ... (4 rooms are inadequate and everything is next to mine). And then they stopped understanding both Russian and English and Google translator with translation into Greek. The only person who understands the situation is the night guard Philip. Thank him very much for sincerely trying to solve this problem.
80% of the hotel contingent is young people from foggy albion and neighboring countries. I claim that this is an inadequate, stoned, drunken redneck. At least on vacation. They come by buses, settle them nearby. And the whole night orgy lasts with a break for going to the club. Sometimes they walk back and forth from the club to the room all night with the appropriate entourage - screams, screams, showdowns, breaking doors and collective use of alcohol and balls of fun (look in the net, that is still rubbish, by the way, has already crawled to us). There is nothing more to comment on. No kitchen and free swill, no cost, no manager with a fake smile will cover the fact that there is no rest on vacation and the hotel's disregard for its guests.

From 20 to 27 July, I rested at the Triton Malia Hotel. I entrusted the organization of the rest to a tourist operator, since I did not want to waste time myself looking for hotels, routes, etc.
The flight went well, representatives of the company met me at the airport, escorted me to the bus, we waited for more tourists and headed to our hotels. At the hotel itself I was met by the hotel ... ny guide and I, filling in the registration card, went to the room.
The room was given a standard one, as ordered: the room is spacious and the bathroom is also normal, not a hole in the floor with a curtain.
The atmosphere in the room is cozy and homely. Since I arrived for lunch, I went straight to the restaurant. The type of food I had was HB, which means that lunch is not included in the price. Therefore, for an additional fee (10 euros) I was able to have a good meal, and this price also includes any 2 drinks to choose from: coffee, tea, juices, cola, sprite, beer, wine.
The restaurant itself is bright and clean, the waiters wear a black bottom, white top, the staff is very polite, the range of food is not large, but everything is very tasty.
Then I went to inspect the territory. It turned out to be small: residential buildings, a pool and a pool bar and near the reception. You can take drinks at the bar, but whoever has a food system like mine (HB) can buy drinks for money (1 euro).
Then I headed to the beach. It is across the street, a 3-minute walk. Sandy beach, good entry into the sea. The sea itself is warm. In the following days, I went to the sea twice or three times.
Wi-Fi in the hotel is paid: 2 euros per day, 10 euros per week. Since I came to rest, I considered it necessary to pay for the Internet every day in order to contact my family from time to time.
And so, thanks to the hotel guide, my vacation was well planned: besides the sea and the beach, I also saw the sights of Crete. The choice fell on a visit to the Palace of Knossos and Heraklion, the island of Spinolonga and it would be a sin, having arrived in Greece, not to go on a pilgrimage, so I also went on a pilgrimage to Heraklion. I couldn't even imagine that Crete is so beautiful. The organization of excursions is good, the guides are professional. And, by the way, I didn't waste the days when you can swim in the sea: in the morning I swam, had breakfast, went on an excursion, where I dined, in the evening again to the sea and dinner.
As for the hotel, the rooms were cleaned daily, sheets and towels were changed every day.
And yet, I think that everyone should know about it! The owner is always present at the hotel. It can be located at the reception, in the restaurant. Furniture and plumbing are outdated, but well maintained and clean. Disappointing a lot paid services however, this is normal practice in Greece.

There are almost no Russian-speaking staff, but many try to communicate with Russians. For tourists, a minimum knowledge of English is desirable.

I have long come to the conclusion that a 3 * hotel is enough for a seaside holiday, they are more comfortable, more compact, without queues and crowds in the restaurant, with always free sun loungers, and even decently cheaper 4 * and 5 *. Therefore, choosing a tour to Greece, the choice fell on the TRITON Malia 3 * hotel (not to be confused with Triton Garden). We rested from May 21 to May 31.
Let's start in order. Tour operator - Anex tour, flew to the island with the new airline Azurair. The woman sitting next to us at the airport terribly frightened us that there would definitely be a wreck, wooden benches), but her expectations were not met, there was an excellent Boeing 767-300 with leather seats, an excellent tasty breakfast and cute stewardesses.
We got from Heraklion to Malia literally in 45 minutes, with stops and disembarkation of tourists, they were at the hotel at 10.00, despite the fact that the check-in at the hotel was supposed to take place after 14.00, we were immediately settled and fed with breakfast (which for other tourists has already ended) ... The polite and pleasant staff accompanied us at all stages of the service.
We got the number across the street from the main building, an ordinary number, before restoration. At first they wanted to change it, since it seemed that it was far from the main life of the hotel, but then they saw only advantages in this. Since there is peace and quiet. Cleaning every day, change of towels and linen every 2-3 days.
Later, having met a bunch of guys from other countries and cities, we learned that they were changing the rooms to more updated and modern ones in the main building. So if you go to this hotel and decide to change your room, then you will do it without any problems and additional payments.
The view from the balcony is either the garden, the mountains, or the sea in the distance. We only slept in the room, and we hung out to dry towels and swimwear on the balcony, so the view did not interest us at all.
We had an all-inclusive meal, no complaints, and meat and fish and fruits and vegetables, everything was on our table. Always clean dishes, clean table, lovely waiters and cooks. You have to go to the sea, but for us this is a plus, sport never hurts. Exit the hotel and go right or left. The beaches are municipal and common for everyone. Sun beds and umbrellas for a fee (up to 6 euros for two). You can get there through another hotel or along a public road. I advise you to go around the entire promenade and choose your favorite beach for your vacation. Our favorite beach has become the beach of the Kernos hotel Beach Hotel & Bungalows - free Wi-Fi, wide promenade, peace and quiet.
We were in the pool a couple of times at most, it is not big, chlorine - everything is as it should be))), and we will swim in the pool in Russia)
Hotel Triton is located in the center of Malia, close to a street of bars, clubs and shops. We had an international, very friendly and cheerful composition of tourists at the hotel, so we went to discos almost every day (despite the fact that we thought it was no longer for us ...). Therefore, I advise those who also consider to go once…. Will tighten and like it. (because someone over 50 from discos to the hotel was not able to drive).
Families with babies, young students, middle-aged families and grandparents also rested in the hotel.
We didn't take excursions, but rented a car and traveled around beautiful places Crete and attractions. We took the car towards the hotel in CRITAMOTOR, a big plus for us - parking overnight on the territory of the same company next to the hotel.
