We lived in the area and I can safely say that this is the best place to stay on Fukuok. Ong Lang Beach is the cleanest on the island. Judging by the tourist booklets and notes, not one beaches are famous for Fukuok. We had enough time to carefully read the island life and all entertainment for tourists. In addition to beach holiday, Fukuok offers guests to guests for every taste:

Dinner guests are invited to choose on their own. Preparing, without exception, in three recipes: grilled fried, boil, boiled / extinguished with local seasonings.

I do not transfer obsession, so I was not very comfortable to walk on the market. Vietnamese overcome from all sides, everyone offers to sit down in his institution. Cherkizovsky market in Moscow in nineties, one in one. Only instead of sneakers and sports costumes here are traded with shrimps and squid.

All eaters, and otherwise it is impossible to name them, the same. Therefore, we got there, where there were the people and the most decent tables and tablecloths.

I do not consider myself a squeamish man, but here the dirt is excellent everywhere. You can tightly stick to the table. Beer had to drink from the bottle, I did not risk pouring into the glass. Seafood is fresh, you can suffer, went to choose a dinner. Took: shrimp, squid, sea ends, oysters and some more shells. Shrimp did not manage to spoil, and what the worn were the rest of the dishes, for me there was a big question.

With a clean conscience, I tried everything. Then the stomach was wildly dry and we were removed away from the night market.

Outcome. The feeling of such, the insult in vain spent evening on the island, besides, pain in the stomach after the "delicious" seafood. In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing to do here. In the extreme case, if you really tired of sitting in a cozy restaurant on the coast behind a glass of beer or wine, enjoying the delicious and most importantly safe food, then go here to look at the bizarre creatures in the aquarium, but in no case do not eat anything here. Not tasty and not safe.

Pepper Factory on Fukuchok (Phu Quoc Pepper Farm)

Pepper factories or more precisely, pepper farms on Fukuchok are several. At least marks on the map MapsMe can be found five pieces. We visited the most "tourist" of them. It is located in a pair of kilometers from the city of Dong Dong. See the map above.

At first, I did not understand, we came correctly or not, since there were no practically no identification signs of the factory, not counting the signboards on the road. And in general, the place was more like an ordinary farmhouse. Here the road has a store where they sell peppers, coffee. The guy showed us how to go to the farm.

The location is a plantation on which pepper is grown - the construction of the rows of curly plants.

There is a small fruit garden.

In the shop you can buy many different options for ready-made seasonings. Pepper black and white, peas and ground, ground with garlic and soy sauce.

Perhaps this is all.

We drove to the farm along the way with the Bai Sao. More than for half an hour it does not work here, because, in fact, you have nothing to look and do.

My opinion is if you pass by, it is necessary to stop, to buy pepper a year ahead and still give it to all friends and relatives as a souvenir. Drive purposefully here to see the farm makes no sense.

Fish Sauce Factory, Pearl Factory

Both of these institutions are the usual trick of local residents to attract the attention of tourists. You come there and find only a store where you can buy pearls or fish sauce. There is nothing more and tell. You should not go.

Tracking on Fukuoka (Ganh Dau Trail)

Tracking routes, in the sense familiar to me, there is no word on Fukuchok. I will explain a little: there is a huge National Park on the island - a rainforest, where monkeys, parrots and many more people live in a natural environment. There are lakes, waterfalls, rivers, hills. There are only no infrastructure and access to these natural reserves. Solid impassable jungle.

In total, we had three bars in different parts of the island, in order to see wild monkeys, listen to Centrad, and even get acquainted with the local Flora and Fauna.

On the path you feel that the forest is simply teeming insects, snakes and other twists. We were closer to sunset and completely alone. The sensations are cracked, I am satisfied.

It's all. There are no more equipped tourist routes on Fukuchok. Once we turned off the road and went along the trail, not marked on a tourist map (on my map "Forest")

15 minutes later they went to the glade, where Vietnamese diligently drank the jungle. It seems that the construction of the hotel or something else. They looked at us wildly, apparently unusual for them to see white people in the forest, and not on the beach.

A couple of times we tried to find a more or less sane road / trail, which could be walking along the Fukuok National Park (Phu Quoc National Park). Judging by the cards there is a trail that crosses the entire park, but I failed to leave us. Local residents looked at us, as on the plague, waved their hands and sent away from the forest.

Along the jungle is the DT973 road (DUONG DONG - BAI Thom). On it, it is possible to ride quite comfortably on the scooter to the north and back to look at the local landscape. We were on the way to meet wild monkeys.

In general, as I understood, the National Park is a wild and undeveloped place. Even the locals do not climb there. According to proven information, only one reptiles here is over 61 species. You can read about the park by reference.

My opinion:

I, as a fan of wildlife, it was easy to try to climb into the jungle, see wild monkeys. I was satisfied with the fact that I saw the nature of this region. Since the infrastructure for such a vacation on the island is absolutely at all, it will not like this entertainment. To those who are bored with all day on the beach, I can advise the following:
