HOTEL ROOM
Made a sad impression ... Rooms are old and tired! The beds are bad, after them the back hurts and will be very strong, the first 3 nights I woke up when I or my boyfriend rolled over, the creaks are unbearable !!! Everything shabby, unwashed, falling apart in places, but everything worked. There was a catastrophic lack of sockets, this is not the first time we have encountered this, so we carry a tee with us, it helped us a lot :-) We lived on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool, the animation interfered in the evening ... especially when it was karaoke until 12 at night ... The neighbors were also unlucky, first there were the French, then the English Arabs stopped by. For some reason, they thought that they lived in the hotel alone and could well drink, argue and laugh at night on the balcony, and our balconies are only separated by frosted glass. I had to explain to the guys several times that people live around - it helped :-)))
HOTEL STAFF + WiFi
The staff are great! We arrived at about 12 at night, we were greeted, they left us a dinner-dry rations, it was VERY PLEASANT! They gave us a number, we looked at it and asked to change it, it is very much collapsed ... They said that there are no rooms, but in 2 days they will move us. We didn’t remind and we’re used to it, for sure, other rooms are in the same condition. But the staff remembered our request! And a couple of days later we found a note under the door, in which we were offered to move, if we did not change our minds ... But we changed our minds, it was a pity to waste time and collect things.
Cleaning is normal, the tip does not affect the quality in any way, we experimented ;-)
WiFi in the hotel NO !!! More precisely, it is so weak that it does not catch even near the reception (where the WiFi free sign hangs). But in our room (near the pool) he caught at night :-) So we suffered with him ... We bought a local Lebara SIM card, but there is very little internet there, practically no ... Next to the Catalonia Oro Negro there is a Chinese restaurant, there is delicious Sangria , big and tasty portions and super-fast WiFi. After dinner, we went there, drank Sangria and surfed the Internet, otherwise - no way ...
HOTEL FOOD
We fed WELL! We had breakfast and dinner. Dinner - several types of meat and fish, just a lot, there is enough, there is fruit, ice cream, not a lot of pastries, but you can find something ;-) All drinks are paid, but the waiters are not persistent - no, no ... Breakfasts are more modest, but there are also eggs / omelets, fried bacon, sausages (tasteless), many different yoghurts, fruits, tea, coffee. Of course, after a week it gets boring, but it's always like that :-))) Very convenient time, breakfast from 7-00 to 10-00, dinner from 18-30 to 22-00. You can eat early and later, very convenient !!!
HOTEL-LOCATION / TERRITORY
Convenient location for renting a car, next to a parking lot and a highway. The beaches are far away 15-20 minutes walk. If you go down to the beach, then return to the hotel - up ... uncomfortable and far. To stomp the same amount of footfall or further. Our room was towards the ocean, but the ocean is far away and you can hardly see it. The hotel is 3 buildings standing with the letter "P", inside the letter "P" - the territory of the hotel, it is small, the pool is small, but several levels, there is for children. There is also a playground for children, but there are practically no children in the hotel.
WEATHER IN SEPTEMBER
The weather in September is quite comfortable. Moderately hot + 26 ... +30, a refreshing breeze blows from the ocean, so several times it was even cool on the beach, especially when you get out of the ocean ;-) Ocean + 20 ... + 22 - if it's hot, then swimming is a pleasure, but if + 26 and the breeze is chilly ... but it depends on thermophilicity, for someone it may be quite acceptable.
TOURS
Were in LORO-park and SIAM-park - I liked it, it makes sense to visit ;-)
We went out into the ocean to watch small whales - we liked it, although we took the cheapest excursion for 2 hours, that was enough for us. There are whales, we have seen whales!
Took an individual sightseeing tour of Tenerife from a private guide, not bad ... comfortable, at least :-)
We took a car for 6 days, drove ourselves to the Teide volcano, to the Guimar pyramids, to shopping in Santa Cruz - in general, we traveled the whole island far and wide :-)
GENERAL IMPRESSIONS
As for the dream of a Soviet person - the Canaries are sheer disappointment? I didn't see anything SUCH there ... But the impressions of the trip are good, probably because I didn't expect anything SUCH, I read the reviews in advance ;-) I'm not sure I'll go to Tenerife someday ... I saw everything there ... but if I will go, then I will not stop at the Catalonia Oro Negro ... and I do not recommend it to anyone ... too "tired" hotel, awful beds ... all the same you want to get enough sleep, and not suffer at night.

Very friendly and customer oriented staff. Despite the fact that on the day of arrival we were not able to provide a room in accordance with our wishes - on a high floor and overlooking the sea, we were promised that they would be relocated as soon as possible. Indeed, a day later we received a letter that such an opportunity appeared and, if we did not change our minds, then we can move. By the way, the room on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool was also not bad, but the room overlooking the sea, of course, we liked better. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the beach, but the road is pleasant and we were ready for it, and we were even glad to walk after a hearty breakfast. We also had dinner most often at the hotel, because at dinner, the choice of dishes is quite large - you could always find what you liked for yourself, and the price-quality ratio was completely satisfied. The hotel met all our expectations, which we had in accordance with the hotel description and reviews.

Disadvantages: poor soundproofing, noisy at night (music from bars and noise until 3 am with an open balcony); to the nearest beach Troya 15 minutes walk by a short beautiful road through the park or 20 minutes along the dry river bed. We walked around all of the beaches, especially El Camison (20-30 minutes, golden sand), Troja and El Duke (far away). The Golden Mile is 20-30 minutes away. Linen and towels are not regularly changed. There were a lot of tourists at dinner, there were problems with seats. The restaurant looks more like a dining room (the lack is compensated by delicious food), slow WiFi in the evening. The safe is paid, 2 euros per day. The sun loungers by the pool are fully occupied in the morning and for the whole day, which did not bother us much, since we are lovers of swimming in sea water and walking along the coast. TUI travel agency in the lobby. They could not use it, because they did not coincide with it in time.

Spacious, bright room, equipped with everything necessary, corresponds to the description, a large bathroom (not a stall with a shower), regularly put bath accessories, comfortable beds, fell asleep by touching the pillow. Luxurious G. Balcony. Received as requested room on top floor with ocean, pool and mountain views. 2 Russian TV channels. There are many cafes, supermarkets and restaurants around the hotel, but they were practically not used, because took breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Tasty, a lot, varied (especially dinner), they always found something new, it is not difficult to get better with this choice. Not far from the Columbus hotel there is a bus stop, where we were picked up on excursions. Opposite there is free public parking, not always free in the evening. Friendly staff. We were satisfied with the rest, thanks to the administration and staff.

The hotel is located in one of the busiest tourist destinations in Tenerife - Playa de Las Americas. Within walking distance from the hotel is the embankment with a huge number of bars, restaurants and clubs for every taste. There are many different travel agencies, including Russian-speaking ones. I got a quite comfortable and quiet room overlooking the hotel courtyard with a swimming pool. Great breakfasts and dinners, a large selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, salads, meat and fish dishes.

Large and comfortable hotel with excellent infrastructure inside. Clean and large rooms, daily and high quality cleaning. Located within walking distance from the sea and close to 2 large supermarkets. The restaurant and food from the hotel is very varied and incredibly tasty.

There was no brush in the toilet, the air conditioner did not regulate the direction of the air (old).

The breakfasts were excellent, but something could be changed with some frequency. At least a little. The sea views are gorgeous. Dinners at the hotel are very decent, varied and not expensive. The staff is polite.

Large hotel, accordingly, a lot of people at breakfast / dinner and very noisy. Apparently, due to the large number of rooms during my absence, they did not have time to clean the room, the maid sometimes came and at 15.30, of course, I had to refuse so as not to clean up in front of me or not leave again. The beach is 15 minutes walk.

Very poor sound insulation

The room is dirty due to poor cleaning. Just make the bed and fold the towels. Poor soundproofing. No extractor hood in the bathroom. The neighbors smoke, and the smell comes to us, although we do not smoke and our room was non-smoking.

Great location! Within walking distance of the bus station, city center, restaurants, beaches. There was a great view of the ocean and mountains. The breakfast is very rich and varied.

It was agreed with the car rental company that the keys will be left at the hotel reception. On the day the keys were handed over to the reception, they expressed dissatisfaction that the rental company called them several times about these same keys. In general, it is part of the staff's job to provide information assistance to clients. Therefore, irritation about receiving unnecessary calls is the usual laziness of a particular performer. In general, the hotel management has a lot to do in terms of staff training.

The hotel is located close to all the necessary infrastructure. Stayed 1 night so this was a priority.

Very weird staff. If you take wine and beer at dinner, get ready to bypass all the hotel's cash desks, each one will charge you one euro: for beer, for wine, for a glass ... In the next room there was a real renovation, when it calmed down, very nervous cleaning lady cleaned the rooms so that the crash spread over several floors.

The best impression, of course, is from Tenerife itself. Everything that I wrote about the shortcomings is leveled by nature. Ocean, sun, beaches, weather, parks, volcano. We settled quickly, the departure was also quick. To the beaches we went to - 1.2 / 1.5 km. It's okay to walk after breakfast. Loved the pool. The responsiveness of the staff at the reception. There is a room for sports. There are air conditioners in the rooms, although they are not young, but everything works. In general, we had a good rest, after arrival only good things are remembered. There is one Russian TV channel. Probably three stars, this is the correct rating for the hotel. Price quality is normal.
