Most likely you are going to lie on the beach and swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Because Alicante is located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain and is a favorite holiday destination for lovers of the sea, sun and beach.

There is an airport in Alicante, which is called Alicante Airport and is located 9 km from the city itself. When you approach the airport, you will just see the city itself. And if the weather is cloudless during your flight, then a great sight awaits you - the sea and the islands of Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and the group of Balearic Islands.

When I was flying from Alicante to Dusseldorf, I saw these islands, unfortunately, only in the picture of the plane route, because... there was high cloudiness.

But I can imagine that this spectacle really puts you in the mood for relaxation and vacation. So let you be lucky, the weather will play into your hands and you will at least admire Ibiza from the sky, if your tourist road is still passing you by and leading you to Alicante.

If you have arrived at Alicante airport and are traveling on your own, then you must figure out in advance where to go - to the city of Alicante itself or to the nearest resort towns of Benidorm and Maluca.

How to get from Alicante airport to the city center?

If you need to get to the city of Alicante from Alicante airport, there are 2 ways: a city bus or a taxi.
There is no train or metro from the airport to the city! The authorities promise to build it, but they haven’t built it yet.

The city bus is numbered C-6 and departs every 40 minutes. The stop is directly opposite the exit, look for the sign Bus C-6 Alicante. Travel to Alicante from Alicante Airport takes 40 minutes and costs 1.25 euros, indeed, a very budget option. Along the way you will see a mountainous landscape and a rocky sea coast where fishing flourishes.

If you have time and are not in a hurry, I recommend taking the bus to the final stop Puerta del Mer - that is, straight to the beach. Here the bus turns around, rests for a few minutes and heads back to the airport. At the same time, the bus passes through almost the entire city - at the same time, take a bus tour of the city.

Taking a taxi from Alicante to the airport is much faster, but it also costs much more. In May 2009, the price for a taxi from the airport to Alicante was 17 euros.

If you are planning to go straight to resort towns, where, for example, a booked villa or a modest hotel room awaits you, then you need to know the following: Alicante Airport is a large airport that brings tourists from all over the world on holiday to the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Therefore, the transport service is very well presented at Alicante airport. Several transport companies operate routes to Benidorm. You can check the schedule and prices, for example, on the largest of them ALSE www.alsa.es

Alicante International Airport (Aeropuerto de Alicante-Elche) is located 13 kilometers southwest of the city center of Alicante.

The airport is the third largest in Spain and ranks sixth among all airports in the country in terms of passenger capacity.

There are a lot of people at the airport at any time of the day, and planes take off and land every 3-5 minutes.

Alicante Airport (ALC) is located at Alicante Airport, Spain, E-03071 Alicante. Tel: +34 913211000, +34 902404704

The airport is large, three-story, the roadway near the airport goes up and is located in such a way that the bus stop is located at the level of the third floor of the airport.

There are two ways to get from Elche airport to the city center of Alicante, as well as from the city to the airport:

1. By bus.

2. By taxi.

By bus from or to Alicante airport

The bus stop is located at the entrance to the airport, on the second level of the new terminal.

The bus runs every day, on average every 20-25 minutes.

Bus schedule:

From the airport from 06:40 to 23:00

From the city center, from the stop at plaza puerta del mar from 06:00 to 22:20.

The fare is paid to the driver upon entry. The cost of one journey per person is 3.85 EUR (euros).

Along the route, the bus makes stops around the city

From Alicante International Airport, you can also take buses to Murcia, Benidorm, Calpe and Torrevieja. Access to the stops is from the second level (floor) of the airport, near the check-in area.

Taxi

Since buses run during daylight hours, from six in the morning to eleven in the evening, at night the airport and the center of Alicante can only be reached by taxi.

You can order a taxi either by phone or catch it on the street. Since all taxis in the city have strict prices for landing and mileage, the fare will cost somewhere from 30 euros.

You can also order a taxi/transfer in advance, from home. At any time of the day, at the airport, a driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name and surname written on it. To order a taxi, just provide your flight details.

On foot

Our departure was at 06:40 am. Although we still had money left, spending 30 euros for a fifteen-minute taxi ride was choking us.

Therefore, we decided to try to get to the airport on foot.

We left at three o'clock in the morning and walked to the airport through the city at night.

In some places we had to walk along the sides of the roadway; there are not pedestrian zones everywhere; it’s good that at least at night the traffic was not intense and there were few cars. There were sections of the route where there was no lighting. But there are few places that are inconvenient for pedestrians on the road to the airport; almost everywhere along the road there are sidewalks and there is lighting.

On the way to the airport, we climbed over a couple of barriers and a small fence and entered the airport from the ground floor. It’s just that if you went to the main entrance to the airport, you had to walk to the car turnaround along the highway, and that’s another plus one and a half kilometers.

Overall, the road to the airport was decent. We love to walk and the usual distance that we often cover when traveling is ten kilometers, but here it’s only two and a half more. And as we travel more frequently and gain experience, our bags with things become smaller, more compact and lighter.

The twelve and a half kilometer journey was covered in two hours and ten minutes.

We still need to get to Alicante. The easiest way to find cheap air tickets is online, through

If you haven't been to Spain, definitely go :) This summer, when I was given a vacation, I went on a trip. To tell the truth, I didn’t really plan the route, and didn’t really know how to get there, so I wrote down all the routes in my phone note. I chose the city because it seemed to me that it would be a good starting point for future trips to Spain.

Alicante Airport – Alicante El Altet

The travel time will be about 20 minutes, and you will already be there. The bus will make several stops in the city itself. It will first stop at the bus station where you need to get off. It then passes along the promenade and then stops at the Alicante Tram stop, from where you can take a tram to Denia. To avoid confusing your stops, look at the electronic board; it displays all the stops.

The bus from the airport goes to the Maro-Castillo tram station, then stops at the Luceros station, this is the final one. The tram you need should go to Benidorm, this will be tram number L3. It leaves every half hour. Travel time will take 1 hour 10 minutes.

As soon as you get to Benidorm, you need a second tram No. L9 Denindorm - Denia, it leaves from platform No. 2, it also goes to Denia to the “Denya Norte” station for you, this is the final one. It runs once an hour, every 36 minutes every hour. On it you will spend 1 hour 40 minutes on the road. The departure time of the first tram is at 06:36, and the last at 23:36.
Tram No. L9

To summarize, we can say that the entire journey takes three hours by tram, and if together with the road from the airport, then 3 hours and 30 minutes.

To Denia by car

You can rent a car, as it is convenient and comfortable. Perhaps the only disadvantage of this option is the cost, which will be considerable. Don't forget to rent a car, you must have an international driving license. You can rent a car in advance, for example.

When registering a rental, you will be given a copy of the contract, which you must take with you. It’s easy to find counters of companies offering their services; you can see them right away at the airport. Choose a brand of car that will be comfortable, but not too expensive, calculate the cost and whether you can afford the rental, for example, for a week.

Rent price

Renting a non-first-class car will cost you on average about 60 euros per day.

To Denia by taxi

I don’t know if anyone can afford a taxi this far, but sometimes there is hopelessness and this may be your last chance. Taxis can be found at the airport exit. I highly recommend taking a taxi from the official services with which the airport cooperates. These taxis are equipped with meters, and you will not pay more than expected. The same cannot be said about private taxis, whose prices vary.

You need to go to the taxi dispatcher and say that you need a taxi to Denia. You will be immediately calculated the cost, which you will be asked to pay immediately. After payment you can use the taxi service. The travel time will take you two hours, you will travel with comfort and a restless soul for the money you pay :)

The journey will cost you 90 euros.

Transfer to Denia

You can order a transfer that will be waiting for you at the airport. In this case, when you need to make a transplant, it comes in handy. You practically don’t have to do anything, just order a transfer in advance, providing all the information:

  • full name;
  • transfer number;
  • arrival date;
  • the car you want;
  • how many are you;
  • where to take it;
  • phone number.

After approval, you will be sent a message to your phone that your application has been accepted and you will be expected. Upon arrival, the driver will be waiting for you, holding a sign with your name. The driver will take you to the place you specified. There will be no transfers and it is convenient.
