Alupka Crimea guide. Sights of Alupka: what to see first

Friends, good day to all!

There is life outside the Crimea, but is this life? In fact, we are continuing our journey through my favorite Crimean resort.

Rent a home

Probably, in every courtyard of this city you can rent a room or a room. By booking accommodation in advance, even before the start of the summer season, you can significantly save money.

If you are planning a long vacation with health improvement, then the best option is sanatoriums or boarding houses with meals by the sea - from 1800 rubles per day.

Private sectoroffers mini-hotels with cozy rooms, one-room apartments - from 900 to 3500 rubles.

Hotel complexes, apartments, slipways, on the territories of which there are swimming pools, saunas, gazebos, playgrounds and sports grounds, a garden for walking - from 2500 to 8000 rubles .

Affordable in price and comfort hotel "Alupka" - class rooms standard from 900 rubles. The payment includes breakfast, to the sea 10 minutes.

Manor "At the Count's Park" - a hotel complex, in a closed area there is a swimming pool, places for recreation. The beach is a 15-minute walk away, next to the luxurious Vorontsovsky Park. Rooms are more expensive here - from 1700 rubles per day.

Perhaps the price policy will force you to change your location and place your family in the suburbs adjacent to Alupka.

But I beg you not to. You will not find anything better than Alupka))

8 cafes in Alupka you should know about

There are not so many decent catering establishments in Alupka - either expensive or a very meager menu. I will list 6 names of cafes and restaurants. You will find something interesting for you personally anyway.

For every day you can choose budget canteen"Magnolia" (st.Parkovaya, 6). We didn’t have time to get there, but if I hadn’t met other canteens in Alupka, we had to take it.

For authentic Tatar cuisine, go to the cafe " Roomi ". It is not only tasty, but also very interesting, because while waiting for your meal you can study the life of the local Tatars (Rosa Luxemburg St., 30).

Nice restaurant "Karamba" on the street Frunze, 10. There is a wider selection of dishes, the average bill per person is 700-800 rubles .

Many praise him, but for us personally, he has not come to face 2 times. The waiters and the bartender are not particularly stressed here, and the prices are slightly overpriced.

They have a magnificent table by the window with a beautiful view, but it is always busy. So I recommend booking in advance.

The dishes are delicious, they are prepared quickly, the prices are tolerable. I can't applaud and rejoice, but it's worth going in and trying it.

Right in front of Lenin Square you will see the cafe on the left " Summer “And on the right is a trendy restaurant Mare nero.

Cafe "Leto" generously feeds Ukrainian cuisine at ridiculous prices. Tasty, but the serving of the dishes is morally outdated. If you don't give a damn about that, I highly recommend it. We have few such cafes left where you can simply eat deliciously without show-offs for a small amount.

A little to the left you will see the summer bar Discovery - burgers and hookah. Sand is brought here specially in the summer and ottomans are placed. Live and enjoy.

Quite noisy evening program in the restaurant in season Mare Nero. If you want something fashionable and modern, and go to Yalta far, then you can come here.

A pizzeria is waiting for us on Lenin Square itself Trattoria, which, however, is only open during the season. Great design and a good menu, but often the lack of positions and small portions are frustrating. But it's worth a try.

Passing Mare Nero and the trattoria straight ahead, you will find yourself in a den of barbecue and cheburek people. If you like such delights, then you are there. Turn right you will pass the supermarket " PUD"On the stairs leading to the Vorontsov Palace.

And here there is one very interesting "". Prices are not basic, but there are very interesting meat and seafood dishes. For the sake of variety, it's worth trying.

Where to go and what to see

Friends, in more detail about the outstanding sights of Crimea, in particular Alupka, you can read in this article, I will just announce the list of possible routes:

  • Vorontsov Palace designed by Queen Victoria's court architect Edward Blore, creator of Buckingham Palace;
  • Big and small chaos - natural heaps of stones (solidified lava), organically inscribed in the landscape of Vorontsov Park;
  • Beech grove on Mount Ai-Petri;
  • Aivazovsky rock ;
  • A. Kuindzhi Museum-Apartment, Amet-Khan Sultan Museum;
  • Temples - Archangel Michael, Prince A. Nevsky, St. Martyr Panteleimon;
  • Ai-Petri plateau, cable car.

Also, do not forget about the surroundings and nearby attractions - Massandra wine cellars and the palace of the same name.

Tourists' revelations

With its compactness, Alupka is convenient for its proximity to the large resort of Yalta, and other seaside villages, where you can go at will without any problems.

Pros:

  • picturesque landscape and excellent climatic conditions;
  • quite a budget option for the resorts of the South Coast;
  • a large selection of housing, good sanatoriums;
  • the purest, azure sea, which retains heat for a long time;
  • interesting in terms of viewing architectural monuments, and its ancient streets and buildings immerse you in a special atmosphere that is not found in modern noisy and dusty cities.

Minuses:

  • mountainous relief, forcing to carry out daily ups and downs;
  • very narrow beaches, decorated with cobblestones and boulders, the absence of a bright and spacious embankment as such;
  • a small selection of shops and cafes;
  • lack of entertainment.

Good to know

Alupka has a well-developed communication "Intercity" , has its own bus station in the center. But local transport carries out only a circular route around the city, which does not go around all the streets of the city.

Therefore, having arrived in Alupka, it is more expedient to use the services of a taxi, which will take you to the right address, otherwise it will take a long time to zip around with suitcases in the heat.

Also, when booking, find out in which area are "your" apartments. If in the upper, but overlooking the sea, then you yourself understand - hiking workouts with loads are provided for you.

While resting in Alupka, you can, on your own, very smoothly get to the neighboring resorts. Gaspra and Koreiz 5 km.

Also, in the eastern part of the city you can walk to the territory Miskhora , read about this resort, and in the western part, where Alupka ends, begins Simeiz - I wrote about him in article.

Articles to remember:

See you soon!

A small, but very important and irreplaceable pearl in the crown called Crimea is Alupka - a popular resort on the southern coast of the peninsula. The resort town is surrounded by greenery, thanks to which it is great to breathe here, and a light breeze from the sea makes the air fresh. The narrow, winding streets of Alupka seem to run down a huge staircase to the sea coast, forming several levels and creating a unique atmosphere of the Black Sea resort. All this disposes for walks and sightseeing of the city.

What to see in Alupka? The main attraction and a kind of visiting card not only of the city, but of the whole Crimea is the Vorontsov Palace with the surrounding park. Everyone who comes to Crimea on vacation seeks to get into it. Diabase miracle - this is the name of this palace, erected from diabase, which is a rock at a price not inferior to marble. The stone has a gray-green color, which allows the palace ensemble to merge with the evergreen greenery on the mountain slopes. A contemporary wrote that it would be nice to have at least a small snuffbox made of this stone, and here is a whole palace ...

The unique architecture of the palace, luxurious interiors and wonderful parkland have always attracted filmmakers. Here you can see the places where the legendary Soviet films were filmed: "Heavenly Swallows", "Scarlet Sails", "An Ordinary Miracle", "Assa", "Hamlet", "Ten Little Indians" and many others. In February 1945, during the Yalta Conference, the palace complex received the British Allied delegation led by Churchill. The Prime Minister was so impressed by the splendor of the palace and the luxurious reception that he separately expressed gratitude to Stalin for the comfort and atmosphere created in this temporary residence. They even say that Churchill asked the head of the Soviet delegation to sell one of the six lions, the sculptures of which are installed on the so-called "South Terrace," explaining this by the fact that he recognized himself in this lion. Stalin's answer was short: "We do not trade in people's goods." I wonder which of the six lions we are talking about, because there are three pairs of them: sleeping, awake and roaring?

Today the Vorontsov Palace continues to delight visitors with its architecture, interior decoration and magnificent museum exposition.

Speaking about Alupka, it is impossible not to mention one more symbol of the Crimea - Mount Ai-Petri, the sheer southern slope of which, more than a thousand two hundred meters high, faces the sea and seems to hang over Alupka. You can get to the top of the mountain in several ways, but the simplest and most spectacular is the cable car "Miskhor-Ai-Petri". Picturesque panoramic views from the observation deck at the top of the mountain delight, fascinate and leave no one indifferent.

The religious sights of Alupka are attractive - the temple of the Archangel Michael, standing on a rock, whose golden domes are visible from afar, and the temple of Alexander Nevsky, built at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. They invariably attract both believers and those who want to learn more about the history of the city.

The sights of Alupka are so delightful and diverse that you always want to return to this wonderful city and enjoy its flavor.

The southern coast is the pearl of the Crimean peninsula, and the sights of Alupka are known far beyond its borders. Not only Russian tourists come to admire its park, but also foreign guests. Alupka is located not far from, only 17 km away, and is part of its urban district.

History of Alupka

The settlement of Alubika was first mentioned in 960, when the Khazars still ruled on the peninsula. In the Middle Ages, the fortification of the Genoese Lupico was located here, and later the Crimea was captured by the Turks. For three hundred years, the peninsula was part of the Ottoman Empire, mainly inhabited by the Crimean Tatars, its subjects, as well as the remnants of the former peoples. In 1783 this region became part of the Russian Empire. At first, Prince Potemkin became the owner of Alupka, and then it went to Count Vorontsov, whose name now bears the famous palace, built just under him and according to his instructions.

In Alupka itself, the embankment is practically absent, you can read more about it and what the coastal strip of the village is in.

The beaches here, on and on most of the coast of the South Coast, are pebbly, but sun loungers are available for rent along the entire coast in summer. They are also equipped with sheds, cafes, bars and retail outlets with goods useful for tourists - inflatable rings, slates, Panamas, etc.

Alupka is a well-known, even in some sense, an elite resort on the Crimean coast. It is famous for its beauty - both natural and architectural, amazing sea and clean air.

How to get to Alupka

You can get to Alupka from Moscow and from Krasnodar in different ways:

  • by train;
  • by plane;
  • by car.

You can only fly to Simferopol by plane. From there you have to get to Alupka by bus - and first you need to get to Yalta by bus or trolleybus (the second option is cheaper), and from there you have to change to a bus directly to Alupka.

If you plan to travel to Alupka by train, then there are two options for the route: through Simferopol and through Sevastopol. It takes longer to get from Simferopol to the destination, but transport runs more often. It is much closer from Sevastopol to Alupka.

Finally, if you prefer car travel, there are options here too. More precisely, you need to get to the Kerch ferry in the same way as during any trip to the Crimea: From Moscow - along the federal highway "Crimea", from Krasnodar - through Slavyansk, Temryuk and Port-Caucasus. But then you can go either along the eastern route (through Sevastopol), or along the western one (through Yalta).

What is interesting about rest in Alupka

Castle in Alupka

For more than a century, Alupka has been receiving guests from all over the world. This city may not boast of ideal beaches, as if descended from the pages of advertising tourist booklets, but most of the most famous sights of Crimea are concentrated here, and the views of the surrounding nature are literally breathtaking.

Despite the fact that at the height of the tourist season it is quite crowded in Alupka, here you can always find a secluded place where no one will interfere with your vacation. Well, if you are a supporter of noisy fun, then in Alupka and for this business will not be: bars, clubs and discos are enough here.

Prices for private housing and hotels in Alupka

The peculiarity of the development of Alupka is such that wherever you stay, you will always be close to the sea. Therefore, the question of proximity to the beach is practically not worth it. True, this resort cannot boast of low prices, unlike, for example, Simeiz: its popularity and elitism affects.

Housing in Alupka is approximately equally represented by private properties, which are rented through intermediaries or by the owners themselves, and various hotels, mini-hotels, guest houses.

A one-room apartment can be rented for an average of 800-1200 rubles per day. A room in a private house will cost less, from 400 to 700 rubles; and a whole house or cottage can be rented at a price of 1,500 to 3,000 rubles per day, depending on the size, number of places and time of rest.

Those vacationers who still want to find cheaper accommodation can pay attention to the villages of Simeiz and Koreiz, which are very close to Alupka. There prices are noticeably lower, and there are fewer people.

What to see in Alupka

Alupka is famous for its unique sights. People from all over the Crimean coast come here to look at them.

Among such attractions - Vorontsov Palace and the surrounding park... The beauty of the palace may well rival the more famous Livadia Palace; in addition, it is built from a unique material called diabase. And Vorontsovsky Park can be safely called a masterpiece of gardening art - alleys, paths, flower beds and decorative elements are so harmoniously located in it.

Another architectural monument in the vicinity of Alupka is castle Swallow's Nest... It amazes not only with its beauty, but also with its location: it seems to hang over the sea, being on the very edge of the Aurora rock, which is 37 meters high.

The main natural attraction of Alupka is mount Ai-Petri, which offers a stunning view of the entire Crimean peninsula. You can climb the mountain along the cable road, which starts in Miskhor. This road is the longest unsupported structure in all of Europe.

Things to do in Alupka

One of the most popular entertainments in Alupka is excursions both in the city itself and in its environs or other cities: Yalta, Alushta, etc. During such excursions, you can visit various attractions: Nikitsky Botanical Garden, the Dulber palace and park complex, the Livadia Palace and much more.

Also, vacationers are offered boat trips and boat excursions to the extinct volcano Karadag or Balaklava.

Fishing enthusiasts can do what they love on the high seas.

Fans of parties can go to the Neptune disco, where they will be offered a cafe with delicious seafood dishes, fiery dance music and spectacular shows. And in the night club "Kedy", in addition to a sushi bar, discos and a bartender show, you can visit a mini-cinema. Of course, there are other bars, clubs, cafes, billiard and karaoke clubs in Alupka, so no one will be bored.

Alupka beaches

The beaches of Alupka can hardly be called elite and comfortable, but this is more a plus for them than a minus: it is the wild, pristine beauty that makes them so attractive. In addition, the water here is clear thanks to the rocky bottom, and the views from the beaches are truly stunning.

The beaches in Alupka are pebbly and rocky, not wide.

  • The largest and most popular beach has a popular name "Frog" - in honor of a huge stone located there, resembling a sitting frog in its shape. There are quite a few people here, but the beach is very long, so you can always stay. There are sun loungers, umbrellas, a promenade with changing rooms, shops and entertainment for children.

Frog Beach

  • The beach is noticeably different from its other "brothers" "Black Bugor" (previously - the beach "Rainbow"). It is not rocky, but small-pebble, with a gentle entrance to the water. The beach offers a beautiful view of a small bay. The territory is landscaped, there are wooden paths, changing cabins, sun loungers, a cafe and tents with drinks. But there are not many people here, since the beach cannot be reached by car, and those who want to walk are not always there. The entrance to the beach is free.

Wild beach

Beach in Alupka

  • Of the wild beaches of Alupka, the most famous "Beach of the monk Bertholtz Schwarz"... It consists mainly of small pebbles, but there are also large boulders. You can go down to the beach using an iron staircase. There are few vacationers here, there is no entertainment or infrastructure at all - well, that's why it is wild! But you can enjoy a relaxing holiday and a beautiful view of the bay.

Alupka is not the most economical of the Crimean resorts, but it's worth going here for the sake of sights and picturesque landscapes. This place is perfect for a relaxed family holiday, including with children.
