Beaches in Rafailovici: what you need to know? On foot on the Budva Riviera: Rafailovici Becici and Rafailovici in Montenegro attractions.

One of the most popular holiday destinations in Montenegro, long loved by many of our compatriots, is the small resort village of Rafailovichi. It is located in the Budva Riviera, which is considered the center of the tourist life of this Balkan state. In the article we will tell you which one awaits you (Rafailovici), what hotels and entertainment there are. We will also find out how tourists from Russia and other CIS countries remember the rest in this place.

Montenegro, Rafailovici: photos, description of the resort

This formerly modest fishing village, and now popular with tourists from different countries, is located just four kilometers east of the tourist capital - Budva. The map will help to estimate the location of the settlement. Rafailovici (Montenegro) is connected with the nearest village Becici, and further with Budva itself by walking places. They run along the very shore of the sea, so here you can take exciting and leisurely walks, admiring the picturesque waters of the Adriatic and breathing in the healing sea air.

Despite the fact that the resort of Rafailovici (Montenegro) is built up quite densely today, there are no multi-storey buildings, and houses with open terraces entwined with decorative flowers of all kinds of shades prevail, standing on narrow winding streets descending to the sea, which make the village very cozy and, you can say home look.

How to get there

The nearest airport to the resort of Rafailovici (Montenegro) is in the city of Tivat, about 30 kilometers away. The easiest way to get to the hotel from the air harbor is by taxi. Such a trip will cost about 25 euros and will take about 20 minutes. Also, upon arrival, you can take a taxi to the Tivat bus station, and from there get to the town of Rafailovici by bus. However, most tourists prefer the first option.

Weather

Rafailovici (Montenegro) has a mild climate. So, the air temperature in July is + 28..30 degrees Celsius on average. Summer rains are usually infrequent and of short duration. From November to February, quite a lot of precipitation falls on the Montenegrin coast. January is considered the coldest month. At night, the air temperature can reach 5 degrees below zero, and during the day it rises to 11-13 degrees. As for the swimming season, its duration is five months - from May to October. The water temperature at this time ranges from 20 to 25 degrees.

Cuisine and restaurants

In the town of Rafailovici (Montenegro), as in all other settlements of this country, there is a number of restaurants that offer delicious national meat and fish dishes. One of the most popular restaurants here is the Three Fishermen, located near the beach. Even true gourmets speak of him extremely positively. Many cafes and restaurants are located along the promenade. It should be noted that you can safely go to any of the establishments, because in Montenegro they cook delicious food almost everywhere.

Beach, sea

Rafailovici Beach (Montenegro) - Becici - has been considered one of the best in all of Europe for several decades. For the first time, Becici was awarded this honor back in 1935. Since then, the popularity of the beach has only grown, because the fine sand, the purest azure water of the Adriatic, the picturesque view of the mountains and the availability of all the necessary infrastructure do not leave anyone indifferent. In addition, it is not as crowded here as where literally "an apple has nowhere to fall" at the height of the season.

As in the whole of Montenegro, the beaches in Rafailovici are municipal. Thus, there is no need to pay to enter. You only have to pay money for renting a sunbed and an umbrella. However, you can comfortably and completely free of charge sit on the sand, not occupied by sun loungers, spreading out the towel you brought with you.

Infrastructure and hotel facilities

Hotels in Rafailovici (Montenegro) are represented by two-, three- and four-star hotels. Here you can always find accommodation in accordance with your tastes and financial capabilities. The cost of living in Rafailovici per night starts from 20 euros and can go up to several hundred euros. It should be noted that a characteristic feature of Montenegro is the absence of hotels with their own beaches (with rare exceptions). After all, almost all beaches in this country are in municipal ownership. In this regard, the vast majority of hotels are located on the second and third coastlines.

Four star hotels, Rafailovici

The main representatives of this category of hotels are Tanja Rafailovic, "Villa Meduza", the "Meridian" hotel. Tanja Rafailovic is located practically on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and offers its guests excellent rooms with a magnificent view. In 2006, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out here, and today guests can enjoy the stylish interior and cozy rooms of the hotel. The service staff will always be happy to come to your aid.

The four-storey "Villa Meduza" offers its guests comfortable and cozy rooms designed to create a homely atmosphere for travelers. Near the hotel there is a beach, entertainment venues, restaurants and shops.

The six-storey hotel "Meridian" is built on a hill, thanks to which a magnificent panoramic view of the bay and the surrounding area opens from its balconies and terraces. Here you will find luxurious rooms and impeccable service.

Three star hotels in Rafailovici

Most of the hotels in this resort village are represented by three-star hotels. Among them are such as "Obala", "Bonatza", "Ponta", "Sumadia", "Villa Dana", "Villa Ratko", "Villa Seca" and others.

The three-star Obala hotel offers its guests accommodation in one of 97 comfortable rooms. Almost all balconies of the hotel offer an excellent view of the hotel. Guests have a well-developed infrastructure and friendly staff.

The Sumadia Hotel is perfect for families. It is located close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful nature. "Sumadia" offers you accommodation in one of 120 double and triple rooms, equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay.

One of the best hotels in the village is "Apartments Rafailovici Central". It is a modern white building with comfortable and cozy rooms, friendly staff and all the necessary infrastructure. It is also allowed to accommodate guests traveling with four-legged pets.

Entertainment and excursions

It is recommended to combine an excellent beach holiday in Rafailovici with a tour of various historical and natural attractions. Montenegro is rich in cultural monuments. So, be sure to visit where the miraculous relics of Vasily of Ostrog are kept. Nature lovers will be interested in a trip to the Tara River canyon, which is the deepest and one of the most picturesque in Europe. Also here lovers of extreme sports can go rafting.

Boat trips are also great entertainment. The bus will pick you up from the village of Rafailovichi and take you to the pier in Budva or Tivat, where you will change to a boat and sail along the Budva Riviera and along the Boka Kotorska Bay. This walk takes a whole day. If you wish, you can do it yourself, by agreeing to rent a boat at any pier.

Lovers of nightlife will be able to find entertainment to their taste in numerous bars and clubs in Budva. Also, here you can find a lot of shops selling a variety of souvenirs, clothing and other goods.

Rafailovici is an amazingly picturesque resort, which successfully combines outdoor activities and swimming in the coastal waters. At the same time, there are only two bathing places in the resort. However, this is quite enough, because the village itself is very small, and in some cases it is mistakenly attributed either to Becici, or even assessed as the outskirts of the Budva Riviera. In fact, this is not so: Rafailovici is a completely independent tourist center.

  • The main beach in Rafailovici bears the same name and is a local landmark. An alternative to it is one of the most beautiful bathing places in the region - Kamenevo. True, it takes much longer to get there.
  • Rafailovici - free swimming area: you can go freely, renting sun loungers and umbrellas will cost from 5 euros, the whole set - 10. You can visit the bathing place with your own towel, there are no restrictions.
  • From the village you can easily get to Budva or Becici - there are many more beaches, however, the number of tourists at the most "promoted" places for swimming is off scale. You can get there by bus for only 2 euros.
  • The resort's main beach has a glorious history and has even been recognized as the best in Europe. True, this happened back in the 1930s: a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then, but the main advantages - picturesque landscapes and the purity of the bay - fortunately, have remained unchanged.

The best beaches of Rafailovici

Geographically, only one beach of the same name can be attributed to the village itself. This is the main gathering place for all guests of local hotels and a kind of center for the leisure life of the resort village. Rafailovici themselves border and smoothly pass into Kamenevo and Becici, so if you wish, you can easily pay a visit there and compare the merits of different places for swimming.

Rafailovici

Despite not the greatest length (about 500 m), this bathing place is well planned and has excellent infrastructure. The entire recreation area can be conditionally divided by the type of coverage - there are sand and pebble parts, as well as a section with laid concrete slabs. Despite its relatively modest size in length, this is a fairly wide beach. Therefore, even in the high season, there is always a place here.

Ease of entry and water purity are at a high level, so you can safely come with children. We recommend to be placed with kids in the center - there the longest duration of shallow water and the smoothest bottom. If the soul requires a more "wild" rest and a minimum number of people in the field of vision, we recommend going to the very south - for the parking lot of boats, to a rock visible from afar. There are two small swimming places: there are much fewer tourists, and the water is cleaner.

The infrastructure of the Rafailovichi includes everything you need - from changing cabins to a free shower and a whole line of cafes and restaurants. There is a small car park nearby. Also for everyone there is the opportunity to rent equipment for diving and other water activities.

Kamenevo

The amazingly picturesque Kamenevo is located about a kilometer from the resort. You can get to it directly, for which simply go through the tunnel in the rock separating the resort beach from its neighbor - you will find yourself on a hill from which you will have to go down to the sea. This will be Kamenevo.

In one of our materials, we have already described it (link) - all because of the very close proximity of many bathing places. Thanks to this, the same beaches can be attributed to different resort areas - however, their advantages do not change from this. Let us briefly recall them.

  • There is no residential development near Kamenevo - as a result, there is no noise and household waste. In addition, this is another plus in terms of the cleanliness of coastal waters.
  • The length of the coastline is 350 m, which is not so little. There are practically no problems with accommodation, even in the high season, although there are many vacationers at this time.
  • Kamenevo is not a sandy beach: there are a lot of pebbles here, making entry into the water not the most comfortable. There are stones at the bottom, so in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, it is better to wear slippers. But in general, nothing critical so that it could ruin your vacation, even if you come here with a child.

Rafailovici is a beautiful municipal beach located on the territory of the Montenegrin resort of the same name. The beach is very beautiful and is very popular among bathers - tourists from all cities of the Budva Riviera come here to rest.

Rafailovici beach is not very large - its length is only 450 meters. At the height of the season, it is often overloaded: the local beauty and the purest azure water attract a huge number of tourists. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, this place gained fame as one of the most beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Sea, and Rafailovici beach retains this high status even today. Most of the coastline is covered with fine golden sand, but there are also areas covered with pebbles. Admission to the beach is free, but you will have to pay a nominal sum for a sun lounger and an umbrella.

Overall, Rafailovici is a great beach for families. It is very clean, beautiful and safe here. Swimming and sunbathing here is a pleasure.

Restaurant "Three Rybarya"

It is not hard to guess that the basis of the restaurant's menu is fish. The most varied varieties and methods of its preparation will please both fish gourmets and simply connoisseurs. Unusually tender flounder, shrimps in a special sauce, baked mussels with cream create amazing taste combinations. An unusually delicious fish soup - chorba - will give you real pleasure. A variety of olive oil sauces with garlic and herbs will perfectly complement any dish. A pleasant selection of local Montenegrin wines will delight lovers of this drink.

The restaurant has several small rooms. There is an open area right on the seashore, from where you can admire the beauty of the sea.

There are a lot of people here in the evenings, so if you decide to come here in the evening, it is better to book a table in advance.

Becici "Rafailovici

Becici and Rafailovici are two small provincial towns on the Budva Riviera. These two corners of Montenegro have won the greatest popularity among tourists due to their sandy beaches. There is everything for a wonderful holiday: hotels and apartments, restaurants and cafes. It is an ideal place for a family holiday. At the same time, in Becici, you can taste fresh fish dishes, since this village is famous for fishing.

Becici is surrounded by greenery, and here you can not only swim and sunbathe, but also take pleasant walks. Rafailovichi are not inferior in this, enveloping their guests with warmth and home comfort.

Local beaches stretch for almost two thousand kilometers.

A funny little train runs along the coast, helping tourists to get to their destination faster.

Porat is a very prestigious restaurant located in the Montenegrin town of Rafailovici. The restaurant is famous for its unusually tasty cuisine, a wonderful view from the summer terrace and, unfortunately, quite high prices.

Porat opened more than fifteen years ago and has gradually gained a reputation as one of the best restaurants in the Budva Riviera. "Porat" is located on the coast, and its terrace offers a picturesque panorama of the Adriatic Sea. In terms of food, the restaurant specializes in traditional Montenegrin and Serbian cuisine. In addition, there is a wide selection of meat and fish delicacies, as well as a rich wine list. Due to the proximity of the sea, all fish dishes are prepared exclusively from the freshest seafood and without the use of frozen semi-finished products, which should be appreciated by gourmets.

Unfortunately, the prices in this restaurant can hardly be called democratic. Porat is a very expensive and elite establishment, and you will hardly be able to dine there every day. Nevertheless, the service and excellent cuisine do correspond to the high status of this restaurant, so there is no shortage of customers.

Questions From Readers:

Tell me, how much I don’t read I can’t understand if there is an adequate footpath Rafailovici-Sveti Stefan and Rafailovici-Budva, and where can it be seen on the map?

Is it possible to walk from Budva to Svety Stefan Island?

Yes, you can walk from Budva to the village of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro.

Accordingly, from Rafailovici you can also walk along the embankment both to Budva and to St. Stephen.

St. Stephen's Island in Montenegro

The distance from Old Budva to Sveti Stefan is 9 km... The road for the most part runs along the sea and through parks, only in one section it will be necessary to walk 700 meters along the highway.

Vacationers walk along this pedestrian road both themselves and with children or strollers, but with a stroller, not all sections of the path will be comfortable.

Budva - Sveti Stefan on foot, map

The pedometer counted that my walk from Budva to the observation deck over Sveti Stefan and back to Budva was 21 km... It runs about 10 km in one direction.

In summer, in the heat, I would hardly have gone for this, but that day it was only +25, I had no other plans, and I wanted to see the most famous island of Montenegro, so early in the morning I slammed the door of the apartment and hit the road.

Budva - Becici

Distance - 2-3 km

On my way - 30-40 minutes

A tunnel connects Budva and Becici. First we go along Budva to the tunnel, we go.

Entrance to the tunnel from Budva
Rock paintings in the tunnel

Across 3 minutes we find ourselves in Becici. We go down to the embankment, we go all the time along the sea.

An alternative option is to go from Budva to Becici along the sidewalk along the Yadran road, but this is longer in time and is not entirely comfortable, because the traffic on the highway is brisk, I don't really want to breathe exhaust gases. But you can see the whole of Budva from above.

View of the Slavic beach from the Yadran road
If you don't want to go through the tunnel, you can reach Becici along the Jadran road.

Becici - Rafailovici

Distance - 1.5 km

On my way - 20 minutes

Approaching the Rafailovichi

In Rafailovichi, there are enough cafes and restaurants near the sea, you can relax and dine at the same time.

Embankment in Rafailovici

We continue to walk along the sea from Budva to Sveti Stefan and look for the best place for family holidays in Montenegro. In the first part, we left Budva and looked at the unclean beaches of Becici, which smoothly turn into the beaches of Rafailovici.

All traffic on the coast of Zavala Bay is concentrated in Rafailovici. Here you have blackjack and sl ..., boats, cafes, restaurants. It is generally beautiful at night - everything is in lights.

In general, Turkey-Egypt.

Prices for excursions in euros:

Fast food prices:

In a month there will be no overcrowding. And now it's just beautiful.

Cozy corner of Rafailovici:

The entire beach of Zavala (Becici and Rafailovici) in one megaphoto:

When I studied the route on the map, I was most worried about this place. There was no passage in sight. By the way, some locals in Budva do not know about the existence of a hole in the rock either. And she is. In general, you won't have to climb the rocks.

The passage in the rock was imitated as a cave. And even backlit. Well done.

We leave the cave and see the hidden beach of Kamenovo. In theory, it is very clean here, and some people from Rafailovichi go here to swim.

Kamenovo beach is considered the best beach on the Budva Riviera by the sum of the criteria. It is sandy and pebble. The entrance to the water is shallow, so it is well suited for vacationers with children. The main advantage of the Kamenovo beach is that not a single coastal village faces the sea in this part of the coastline. Therefore, there is never crowding here, even in August.

Like all beaches in Montenegro, on the Kamenovo beach there is an area with paid sun beds and umbrellas, and there is a free free half of the beach. On the shore there are 2-3 summer restaurants and several cafes that bring drinks directly to the sun loungers.

Toilet for 50 cents. The toilet is free.

Cafes and restaurants:

We pass the Kamenovo beach and civilization is completely lost. Only rare, not lazy Montenegrin fishermen come here:

Nice place for nudists.

Actually, this is the very place where the path along the sea ends - you can get to Przno from Kamenovo only through the Adriatic highway, going up the stairs to it.

We pass over the bridge ...

And here is the ladder:

At the end of the ascent there is a good observation deck from which you can see Becici and a piece of Budva:

In the next part we will take a walk around Przno - I liked this town more than anyone else on this section of the Riviera.
