Less likely, although possible - to the Polar Urals and Taimyr. In 7-12 thousand BC. even in Taimyr there was a climatic optimum with an average July temperature of 15 degrees, which is 7 degrees higher than the current one, although the climate there was much more severe.

How comfortable were the conditions for a person in the Russian North then? Let's analyze. In 7-8 thousand BC. according to the most conservative geological estimates, the average July temperature at Kola was 18 C - the same as now in Moscow. “Just think,” the educated people will say, “only” 18! What could be in such a north? Apparently, the Gulf Stream passed a little further to the northeast than it is now, which is confirmed by the fact that Novaya Zemlya had a climate in the middle zone. But a lot can be assumed, but is there any evidence that our ancestors lived for a long time beyond the Arctic Circle? There is. Tilak in his work "The Polar Homeland in the Vedas" proved by analyzing the ancient texts of the Indians and Iranians - the Vedas and the Avesta that their common ancestors (Aryans) migrated from the polar regions in time immemorial. Tilak's book contains many inconsistencies and a number of gross errors, unforgivable for a prominent scientist even at the beginning of the 20th century (when this book was written) like "a man in the Tertiary period", but a number of his arguments cannot be explained by anything else, except that the ancestors of the Aryans really lived for The Arctic Circle. Were there such “comfortable” animals in the north at that time? Yes, there were - northern breeds of cattle and northern breeds of horses. Interestingly, the northern cows were then hornless (kamol) and the Vedas describe precisely the fact that in ancient times the cows were hornless. The Hindus themselves did not see fox cattle anymore.

It is interesting that approximately the same picture of production is observed in Arkaim: weak agriculture, strong cattle breeding, partly hunting and pronounced fishing. Already not bad, there are no logical violations. It makes no sense to look for large cities in the north - with this method of production it is too difficult to maintain large settlements, and what is the point in them? Hunting on the polar night is clearly ineffective, and until people have learned to maintain large enough herds, it is impossible to give up hunting. One must think that the fate of such an unlucky astronomer will be unenviable. However, responsibility does wonders. What will such a responsible and inquisitive astroshaman come up with?

He will begin to observe the Sun and the Moon from the same point every year, standardizing the experiment, that is, he will choose a suitable place and will only use it. But obviously, even a few years is not enough - every year the sun rises not quite where it did in the previous one due to the precession of the earth's axis. Therefore, the problem arises - how to save information? Come remember where the sun rose from 15 years ago? After all, the shaman does not know how to write yet.

Therefore, the researcher will create a system of memorable landmarks - he will lay a large stone, dig a hole, dig in a log, notice the top of a distant hill, draw, or even better, lay out lines on the ground with stones, designate the observation center. They will do what shamans and priests of all times and peoples do - sing and dance, and for a long time, so that their fellow tribesmen have a full impression of their serious work and even the thought that the priest no longer needs to be fed. Our theocrats will sing and chant with recitative much more than they will dance: however, it is cold outside in the Arctic Circle in winter, you will not dance for a long time. According to Tilak, the Vedas unequivocally say that during the period when the Aryans lived in the Arctic, they knew the chariot - Indra rode on it, who would linger in the middle of the sky with his horses and the sun, then he was stuck somewhere and all his waiting on the polar night. But the point is not that it was clear to everyone what a chariot was. Interestingly, at the beginning of the 3rd millennium BC. It is obvious that the Russian North keeps some kind of secret, most likely more than one. As a result, the temperature difference on one island reaches almost 10 degrees. On the southern coast, the average July temperature is + 3 degrees - arctic tundra, on the north - 1.5 degrees - an almost polar desert. An exceptionally warm microclimate develops in intermontane basins, which not only catch warm southern streams in summer, but are also protected from arctic air masses, and there is a phenomenon of so-called "hot" phene winds, when passing through mountain ranges, the air loses moisture and heats up strongly, " dumping "into hollows along steep slopes. As a result, the average July temperatures in the valleys reach 8-10 ° C, which corresponds to the conditions of the southern border of the tundra zone! That is, it is much warmer than Taimyr, which is located much to the south. The flora and fauna of the island naturally matches the temperatures. It is interesting that the staff of the reserve found the remains of mammoths there, the age of which was determined from 7 to 3.5 thousand (!) Years. This is the "youngest" mammoth (a special species) that has ever been found - it disappeared only during the reign of Tutankhamun and the heyday of the Mycenaean civilization. Wrangel Island is one of the most important paleontological monuments on the planet. But nevertheless, no one could have imagined that a very thermophilic animal could exist in the Arctic, in the zone of arctic deserts. The maritime climate did not allow winter temperatures to fall to extreme values, as on the continent, for example, in Oymyakon. Note that in such conditions a person could well have lived, though in conditions not much better, in which the Chukchi and Nenets live.

But this is not the main thing - if the temperature of the Arctic in 5-9 thousand BC was 7-12 degrees higher than today, then what kind of climate would develop in such valleys? To those people, they could quite seem paradise - not hot, but warm summers, moderately cold winters, it is quite possible that even without snow in warm valleys, that is, with a climate comparable to Moldova. Naturally, it is impossible to assert that 8-10 degrees should be added to the then 15-18 degrees, such things should be seriously investigated and modeled. But as we can see, there is a reason for such work.

There were plenty of rocky high islands in those days - the Lomonosov Ridge was then still a chain of islands, and even without them there could be candidates. If, moreover, such an island would be in the zone of the Gulf Stream, albeit its very end, then with a combination of both factors, the conditions could be really extremely comfortable. True, if this mysterious island was in the Gulf Stream zone, then it is now part of the mountain range at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean.

So I repeat - it is likely that the legends about the “warm island of the wise men” have every reason.

Do not think that I am reproaching honest historians-archaeologists who from time to time work in the North, especially in the conditions of present-day Russia. Yes, they are "looking where it is brighter." It is difficult to blame them for this - it is much more difficult to look for something in the northern swamps at random than a needle in a huge haystack, not even mentioning the short season, midges and all other "delights" of northern nature. Somewhere, the settlements of our ancestors, covered with endless northern bogs, preserved in a peat layer, are waiting in the wings. Somewhere among the northern hills, forests and tundra are the remains of primitive solar observatories ...

It seems to me that we should first of all look for the settlements of our ancestors not where it is convenient now, but take an ancient hydrological map of the Russian North, for example, the Kola Peninsula and mark convenient places for settlement near the rivers and lakes that have now disappeared - as we saw above, the hydrological map of the same Kola has changed dramatically over the past few years. If there were also ancient pastures and places convenient for solar observatories nearby, then the probability increases even more. Among the ancient states there was also the mysterious country of the Hyperboreans, practically unknown and unexplored in our days.

The encyclopedia says that the Hyperboreans are a people living on the other side of the northern wind of Borea, which blows from the caves of the northern mountains. They are a fabulous people who lived in some paradise country, forever young, not knowing diseases, enjoying the uninterrupted "light of the heart." They did not know wars and even quarrels, never fell under the vengeance of Nemesis and were dedicated to the god Apollo. Each of them could live up to 1000 years.
The question of who the Hyperboreans were has worried people at all times, but this question remains largely unresolved today. What do the ancient sources say?

Literally the ethnonym "Hyperboreans" means "those who live beyond Borey (North Wind)", or simply - "those who live in the North." Many ancient authors reported about them.
Herodotus (IV century BC) reports that the Hyperboreans lived behind the Ripean Mountains (Ural), behind the Scythians, to the north of them.

The Greek geographer Theopont (IV century BC) gives information about the Hyperboreans, about which the demigod Silenus informs the Phrygian king Misad during their conversation: “Europe, Asia and Africa were islands surrounded on all sides by the ocean. One of the most authoritative scientists of the Ancient World, Pliny the Elder, wrote about the Hyperboreans as a real ancient people living near the Arctic Circle and genetically related to the Hellenes through the cult of Apollo of Hyperborean. This is what the Natural History (IV, 26) literally says: “Beyond these [Ripean] mountains, on the other side of Aquilon, a happy people (if you can believe this), which are called Hyperboreans, reaches very advanced years and is glorified by wonderful legends. They believe that there are the loops of the world and the extreme limits of the circulation of the luminaries. Even from this small excerpt from "Natural History" it is not difficult to form a clear idea of ​​Hyperborea. First - and most importantly - it was located where the Sun may not set for several months. In other words, we can only talk about the circumpolar regions, those that in Russian folklore were called the Sunflower Kingdom. Another important circumstance: the climate in the North of Eurasia at that time was completely different. This is confirmed by the latest comprehensive studies carried out recently in the north of Scotland under an international program: they showed that 4 thousand years ago the climate at this latitude was comparable to the Mediterranean, and there were a large number of thermophilic animals. However, even earlier it was established by Russian oceanographers and paleontologists that in the 30-15 millennium BC. the Arctic climate was quite mild, and the Arctic Ocean was warm, despite the presence of glaciers on the continent.

American and Canadian scientists came to approximately the same conclusions and chronological framework. In their opinion, during the Wisconsin glaciation in the center of the Arctic Ocean, there was a temperate climate zone favorable for flora and fauna that could not exist in the polar and polar regions of North America.

The favorable climate off the coast of the Sea of ​​Milk (in the land of bliss) is explained by the fact that in those distant times, the North Geographic Pole, along with the ice shell, was located off the coast of Canada and Alaska. According to Strabo, these lands are located six days sailing north of Britain, and the sea there is jelly-like, reminiscent of the body of one of the species of jellyfish - "sea lung". If there are no reliable texts, and the material monuments are either not recognized or are hidden under the Arctic ice, the reconstruction of the language can help: as a keeper of thought and knowledge of disappeared generations, it is no less reliable monument in comparison with stone megaliths - dolmens, menhirs and cromlechs. You just need to learn to read the meaning hidden in them.

Despite the scant information of historians, the ancient world had extensive ideas and important details about the life and customs of the Hyperboreans. And all because the roots of long-standing and close ties with them go back to the most ancient community of Proto-Indo-European civilization, naturally associated with both the Arctic Circle and the “end of the earth” - the northern coastline of Eurasia and the ancient mainland and island culture.

Apollo (like his sister Artemis) - the children of Zeus from his first wife, the Titanide Leto, are uniquely associated with Hyperborea.

Apollo's sister, the Goddess Artemis, is also inextricably linked with Hyperborea. Apollodorus paints her as the intercessor of the Hyperboreans. The Hyperborean affiliation of Artemis is also mentioned in the most ancient ode of Pindar, dedicated to Heracles of Hyperborean.

Apollo was considered a prophet, oracle, healer, god, founder and builder of cities. The legends say that in the north of the Sea of ​​Milk there is a large island called Shvetadvipa (Light, White Island). It is located 32 thousand yojanas north of Meru. There live "fragrant white men, removed from all evil, indifferent to honor and indifference, wondrous in appearance, filled with all evil, as strong as diamonds, their bones."

They lovingly serve the God who spreads the Universe. His father, the god Cronus, was exiled to this White Island by Zeus, where his tomb is now located. The land of bliss was located from the Urals to Taimyr. It was neither cold nor hot in these lands. People lived here up to 1000 years, marked with all good signs, shining like a month, they penetrated the Knowledge of the thousand-rayed eternal God.

Ancient authors (Aristeus, Herodotus, Pliny, etc.) call this people Hyperboreans. Its inhabitants did not know wars and strife, need and sorrow. They ate the fruits of plants, knew mineral food, but could maintain vitality without eating at all.

The Mahabharata tells about the tragic battle of the related families of the rulers of the Pandavas and Kauravas on the Kurikshetra field (XVIII-XV centuries BC). And - the most amazing thing - on the map of 1595, the strait between Eurasia and America is clearly marked. Meanwhile, Semyon Dezhnev, a Russian Cossack, discovered it only in 1648!

It is believed that Mercator drew his maps from some very ancient images, which he kept secret from competitors. And dying he passed these priceless originals to his son, Rudolf Mercator. And he, continuing the work, also issued cards, and steadily signed them with the name of his father.

Where did the relics of ancient eras, the knowledge of which were lost by his time, fall into the hands of Gerhard Mercator? The 16th century still found the innermost temples of the Ancient Faith, hidden in the wilderness along the coasts and islands of the northern seas. Has the fate of Mercator or his friends brought together one of the legendary white priests (white elders) - the keepers of ancient secrets? Nothing is known about this. However, Mercator's Cosmography provides a detailed description of the sanctuary on the island of Rügen. (Rusin - rightly reconstructs Zabelin. This fragment from Mercator he translated and included in his famous "History of Russian life from ancient times" - Zabelin IE, Moscow, 1876.) From which, at least, the research interest of the cartographer to secrets of the North of the ancient Rus.

The shape of the sunken polar continent is extraordinary. No other has such. The almost geometric correctness of the outlines resembles ... an artificial structure.

This is what the Hyperborean myth claims. The creators of the unusual form of Arctida were not the whims of the elements, but the inhabitants themselves. And then the Tradition speaks of something even more incredible. The inhabitants of Arctida were ... not Earth-born beings. People, their contemporaries, called them alves. But in the memory of mankind they remained as a race of Hyperboreans.

Warmed up by underground fire, the waters found a way out in the tropical regions of the Planet.
