Metro and MCC won't fall asleep on New Year's Eve

For the second year in a row, the Moscow metro and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) will operate throughout New Year's Eve. Train intervals will be from 3.5 to 15 minutes. Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to comfortably get to the festival venues anywhere in the city, not miss the most interesting shows, and then return home.

Citizens will have access to 59 round-the-clock ground routes

On New Year's Eve, 168 of the most popular routes of surface urban transport will operate -. On 98 routes, the transport will finish delivering passengers at 03:30, and on 59 routes the work will continue around the clock.

The working hours of buses, trolleybuses and trams will also be extended on Christmas night: until 03:00 they will run on 163 routes. In addition, 11 night city routes will maintain their usual schedule both on New Year's and on Christmas Eve.

The interval of movement of ground transport on holidays will be 25-30 minutes. Changes in the timetable of transport on specific routes can be followed on the website of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans".

Suburban trains will run according to the weekend schedule, and the Aeroexpress schedule will not change

From December 29 to January 8, the timetable for the movement of electric trains going from Moscow in all directions will change. On New Year's and Christmas Eve, the working hours of suburban trains will be extended to two in the morning.

So, on December 29, electric trains will follow the Friday schedule, from December 30 to January 7 - according to the Saturday schedule, January 8 - according to the Sunday schedule. And on January 9, they will return to their regular schedule. In addition, 24 trains of the Central Suburban Passenger Company (TsPPK) will be canceled due to a decrease in passenger traffic in a number of directions, and 15 trains of the company will depart later at night on January 1 and 7.

A detailed timetable for the movement of trains on New Year's holidays can be found on the website of the CPPK. During the January holidays, Aeroexpress trains will continue to operate normally without any changes in the schedule. Parking on the streets of the city will be free

For motorists, parking in the capital will be free throughout the New Year holidays, from December 31 to January 8. You can leave your car in any street parking that is included in the city parking space. At the same time, flat parking lots with barriers will continue to operate at the current tariffs. There are about 80 of them, they are open around the clock, including weekends and holidays. Tariffs and payment methods are indicated on the information boards at the entrance.

Inspectors of the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate and the "Administrator of the Moscow Parking Space" will strengthen control over the observance of parking rules. In order not to interfere with other motorists and not endanger pedestrians, drivers will need to leave their cars only in permitted places.

Movement will be briefly restricted for the festivities

On the central streets, traffic will be limited due to massive festive festivities. From December 29, the overlap will be introduced on the extreme lanes in both directions on Tverskaya Street (from Okhotny Ryad Street to the intersection of Tverskaya with the Garden Ring). They will also block one lane on Okhotny Ryad from the side of the Moscow Hotel to Teatralny Proezd. And from 00:00 on December 30 to 15:00 on January 3, Tverskaya Street (from Okhotny Ryad to the Garden Ring), as well as Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad and Teatralny Proezd will become pedestrianized.

Transport security will be strengthened

The work of urban transport will be provided by more than 92 thousand employees of the Moscow transport complex - services of the Department of Transport, the Moscow Metro, GKU Center for Traffic Organization, GKU Administrator of the Moscow Parking Space. On holidays, security measures will be strengthened at all transport facilities - in the metro, the MCC, stops, ground transport and trains. All rolling stock will be inspected before entering the line. In addition, they will intensify the inspection of baggage and passengers, platforms, stops, lobbies, under-street crossings. The frequency of checks on abandoned items and suspicious items in the cabins of buses, trolley buses and trams will also be increased.

The streets of Moscow are among the most popular meeting places for the New Year. And then, during the New Year holidays, few people stay at home. Muscovites go for a walk at the "Journey to Christmas" festival, go ice skating on giant ice rinks and slides for tubing, skiing and sledging ... Public transport helps them to move around the city, which operates on a special holiday schedule these days. What it is and where not to go by car, "RG" found out.

On Tverskaya only on foot

"Travel to Christmas" gathers thousands of people in the capital who are not afraid of frost or slush. A dense crowd of people walk along the sidewalks of Tverskaya, moving from site to site, looking at the light installations that have adorned Moscow. Tverskaya Street - from Triumfalnaya Square to the Kremlin - is given to pedestrians for five whole days. Local overlaps in one lane will begin tomorrow, December 29th. And then the main street of the city, as well as Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad and almost all adjacent lanes will be completely closed - this will happen on Saturday night, December 30, and will only be opened on January 3. On the last day of the old year, all approaches to Red Square, including Varvarka, Ilyinka, Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge, will also be closed. Cars will be allowed there again only on the third day.

Metro all night

To get to the center on New Year's and on the days of overlap is, of course, the easiest way to take the metro. For the second time, the subway will operate all night on December 31, without interruption. According to the head of the Moscow Metro, Viktor Kozlovsky, trains will run on the night of January 1 at intervals of 3.5 to 10 minutes. The Moscow Central Circle will operate on the same schedule. That is, having met the New Year and listening to the chimes in the center of the capital, it will be easy to return home.

By the way, Muscovites began to receive gifts from the metro a week before the New Year. Two theme trains were launched on the Circle Line.

Ground transport will also run in the New Year - a total of 168 routes will work until the morning.

But on Christmas, January 7, subway trains will extend their working day until 2 am, and 174 ground transport routes will also run.

Who is out of town?

They adjust to the New Year and electric trains. Their schedule changes for all holidays, and starting from December 29th. As the press service of the Central Suburban Passenger Company reports, due to the fact that there are fewer passengers, some trains are canceled during the holidays. From December 30 to January 7, they will run according to the Saturday schedule, January 8 - according to the Sunday schedule, on the ninth everything will return to normal.

In addition, on New Year's Eve in some directions, the last night trains will leave the stations an hour later.

On the Leningrad direction, which is served by another carrier company - the Moscow-Tverskaya suburban passenger train - from January 1 to January 8, all electric trains, both "Lastochki" and ordinary ones, will run on a weekend schedule. All changes have already been uploaded to the applications with timetables - "Electric trains" and "Yandex.Electric trains", you can also look at the Russian Railways website.

The fare will rise in price, but not by much

Going on a trip, do not forget - from January 2, fares in Moscow will change - a trip on the Troika will rise in price by one ruble, instead of 35 rubles, you will have to pay 36. Prices for season tickets will rise by several dozen rubles. But insignificantly - the maximum rise in price is 3.8 percent.

But electric trains, as promised by Maxim Dyakonov, the executive director of TsPPK, most likely will not rise in price next year. But in the first half of the year, the company is going to finally release an application through which it will be possible to buy single tickets for trips, which will relieve passengers of the need to run to the ticket office every time - today 70 percent of tickets sold at ticket offices and vending machines are one-time tickets.

by the way

And on January 1, turnstiles will be removed in large buses with "accordion". In return, a validator will appear at each door. The city also promises to tighten control. In total, according to the estimates of Mosgortrans, 60 bus and 15 tram routes will operate without turnstiles. Removing the turnstiles will speed up the journey for each passenger by an average of 5 minutes.

How transport will work in other major cities

St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, on New Year's and Christmas, the metro and ground transport will operate around the clock. However, this does not mean that all buses, trolleybuses and trams will go to their usual routes. We are talking about night buses, which duplicate metro lines whenever possible. Fortunately, in winter, the bridges on the Neva are not raised due to the cessation of navigation. However, Nevsky Prospect will still be closed from nine in the evening. The action in the city center will end only after three o'clock in the morning, when festive fireworks will be launched into the sky. Note that in the night mode, public transport in the Northern capital works only for cash, tickets are not valid. Travel on land costs 40 rubles in St. Petersburg, and 45 rubles underground.

Ekaterinburg

Before the winter holidays, an excursion tram decorated with garlands was launched in Yekaterinburg: you can watch the carriage sparkling with lights on the evening streets. On New Year's Eve itself, the city metro will work until 1 am, and ground public transport - buses, trolleybuses and trams - until 22:30. On vacation days, carriers work according to a standard weekly schedule.

Restriction of movement

It should be noted that traffic will be blocked in some areas of the city. Therefore, you should think over your travel route in advance, taking into account the existing restrictions.

Traffic will be completely blocked on a festive night from 20.00 to 03.00 in the area of Birzhevaya Street to Red Square. In addition, temporary restrictions will apply, which will be announced additionally, on Tverskaya Street, Mokhovaya Street, Okhotny Ryad.
