The largest city on the Azov Sea. Beaches of the Azov Sea

We always associate summer days with seaside holidays, where you can enjoy the rays of the hot sun, splash in the turquoise waves and forget about everyday problems and worries. In addition to the famous Black Sea resorts, Russians love to relax on the shallow and warm Azov Sea, especially families with children. Of course, you won’t see amazing mountain beauty here, there is no noise from nightclubs and discos, but due to the fact that the depth of the Azov Sea does not exceed thirteen meters, the water is always well warmed up and saturated with microelements. Today we will talk about the most popular Russian resorts on the Sea of Azov.

Yeisk Resort– a popular place for family holidays on the Azov Sea. There is an airport and a train station here, which makes traveling here easy. The city of Yeysk is located in the north-west of the Krasnodar Territory, there are many green parks, shady alleys and beautiful squares, and, of course, a lot of excellent beaches on the Yeisk Estuary and in the Taganrog Bay. Yeysk is considered the best mud resort in Russia, it has a very healthy climate, various beaches for every taste: sandy, shell, pebble. The resort stands next to the base of the Yeisk Spit on a kind of peninsula, so it is washed by the sea on three sides. The city of Yeisk is located one hundred and eighty kilometers from the city of Rostov-on-Don and two hundred and fifty kilometers from the city.

Children's entertainment in Yeysk. Vacationers with children can visit the Nemo water park located on the Primorskaya embankment, which stretches along the shore of the Taganrog Bay, or, located on Shmidt street, 16/1, the Dolphinarium and the Crocodile Canyon, where snakes, crocodiles, turtles, as well as the Shark Reef Oceanarium located on the same Schmidt street, but at 15/1. You can have fun with children of any age in Yeysk at the Bingo-Bongo Children's Center, located at Krasnaya Street, building 74/2, as well as on numerous attractions in the Poddubny Park - the oldest in all of Kuban, standing on the shore beautiful Taganrog Bay.

Beaches of the Yeysk resort on the Sea of Azov. As noted above, the beaches in this city are varied: sandy, pebble, shell, rocky, mixed - sand-shell or pebble-sand. Mostly beaches stretch along the Yeisk Spit: Central City Beach, Children's Beach, Youth Beach, Kamenka Beach.

Central city beach of Yeisk– has a length of half a kilometer, and is popular not only among tourists, but also local residents. It is very clean, with a sandy shore and a gently sloping sandy entrance to the sea. The depth at the entrance is small, does not exceed one and a half meters. The water is always perfectly warm. The beach offers entertainment for both adults and children. This beach has changing cabins, paid toilets, rental of sun loungers, umbrellas, cafes and bars. The territory of the Central City Beach is divided into: The main part - along the Taganrog Bay and the Children's Beach - along the Yeisk Estuary.

Children's city beach of the Yeisk resort– stretches for three hundred meters, it has a sand-shell structure. There is also a shallow and gentle entrance to the water. There is also a lot of entertainment for children and their parents: inflatable trampolines, interesting water slides, banana rides, jet skis, and tablet rides. The beach is called “children’s”, for good reason: there are no waves here, it is very shallow - the depth is no more than one and a half meters, which is ideal for children. The only downside to this beach is that it is always crowded, so you have to wake up early to find a place closer to the water.

Yeisk Youth Beach- located at the end of the Yeisk Spit, this is an ideal place for those who like to swim in the depths and have fun doing active recreation.

Beaches of the Yeisk Estuary of the Azov Sea– are located on the right side of the city of Yeysk, along the coastline. The most popular beaches are the areas near Nizhnesadovaya Street, at its intersection with Pionerskaya, Plekhanova, Krasnaya, Barrikadnaya, and Svobody streets.

Kamenka Beach in Yeysk– located south of the Central Beach and Yeisk Port. The beach stretches along the Taganrog Bay for a distance of a kilometer and has a maximum depth of no more than one and a half meters.

"Goat Beach" or "Melyaki"– is part of Kamenka beach, between the port and the water park. This is another “children’s beach”, stretching for three hundred meters; you can come here with kids who have barely learned to walk, since the depth of the sea here only reaches the knee.
In Yeysk there is a sanatorium of a wide profile, where both adults and children come for treatment. There are many hotels, mini-hotels, and private accommodation options. And very inexpensive, unlike housing on.

Stanitsa Golubitskaya- a popular Russian resort on the Azov Sea, which is a village surrounded by picturesque gardens and vineyards. The village is located eight kilometers from the nearest railway station in the city of Temryuk, as well as fifty kilometers from the airport in Anapa and one hundred and fifty kilometers from the city of Krasnodar. The beaches here are sandy or mixed with shell rock. The sea in the village of Golubitskaya is a warm, shallow sea, with a flat, sandy bottom. Vacationers at this Azov Sea resort can be advised to visit Golubitskoye Lake - a large and shallow body of water famous for its healing mud. Also, in the village there are beautiful estuaries where lotuses grow like an elegant carpet. To entertain children, you don’t have to travel far, as the largest water park on the Azov Sea is located here. On its territory you can stay in a guest house, whose guests can attend all entertainment events taking place in the water park for free. This also includes a free visit to the Dolphinarium, where performances take place twice a day.

Stanitsa Taman- stands on the shore of the Taman Bay. Here you can not only relax on the Azov Sea, but also visit numerous fun themed holidays and festivals. It is here, like nowhere else, that the free spirit of the Cossacks is felt and there is an opportunity to get acquainted with their independent traditions and way of life. It must be said honestly that the infrastructure in Taman is poorly developed, but nevertheless, a visit to this resort leaves a lot of the most positive impressions. Be sure to visit the ethnographic complex “Ataman”, which is an “open-air museum”, it is dedicated to the life and everyday life of the Cossacks. If you come with children, then take them to the ostrich farm in Abinsk. For people who care about their health, we recommend visiting the Tizdar mud volcano. For fans of active recreation, we recommend horseback riding or a flight on a light aircraft of the local Sky flying club, visit a sailing school or windsurfing club, and you can also go to the Paragliding Center. If you are interested in the water beauty of the region, then take a boat ride along the picturesque Kuban River.

Stanitsa Dolzhanskaya- another one on the Sea of Azov, forty kilometers from the city of Yeisk, where the nearest airport is located. The closest railway station to the village is the village of Starominskaya. People come here for a calm and quiet family holiday, as there is no entertainment here except visiting the unique natural reserve located nearby. Also, for a modest fee, local residents will arrange a horseback ride through the picturesque area. The beach in the village of Dolzhanskaya is sand and shell, with a gentle entrance to the water. It stretches along the Dolgaya Spit, which extends eleven kilometers into the sea and separates the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Taganrog Bay. There is an excellent climate created by the proximity of pine forests and steppe. This only enhances the healing effect of local medicinal mud, rich in minerals. To stay in the village of Dolzhanskaya, you can rent a room in guest houses, boarding houses or the private sector.

Kuchugury village– a resort on the Azov Sea, famous in the comedy series “Matchmakers,” is located eighty kilometers from the city of Anapa, with its airport and forty kilometers from the Temryuk railway station, as well as twenty-five kilometers from the hero city of Kerch. Kuchugury is famous for its excellent beach, with very fine and golden sand, and the water in the Azov Sea is always clean. The sea is shallow and warm, which is ideal for. It is clear that there is not much entertainment in the village, except perhaps riding a banana boat on the beach or flying on a parachute. But the place is still worthwhile: it’s quiet, cheap fresh fruit, delicious dishes from freshly caught fish. And yet, children can be taken to the Emelya Children's Amusement Park, which is located in the very center of the settlement. Housing prices in the private sector, mini-hotels and guest houses are low and affordable for any category of the population.

Peresyp village- a small Russian resort on the shores of the Azov Sea, a very pleasant place for a quiet family holiday, located on the Peresyp spit. The beaches here are sandy and shell-like, the sea is shallow, warm and clean. Nearby there are beautiful natural attractions: the Lotus Valley and the Blue Balka lake, famous for its healing mud and water.

Resort Primorsko-Akhtarsk on the Sea of Azov– is located one hundred and fifty kilometers from the city of Krasnodar and its airport. In Primorsko-Akhtarsk there is a bus station, a railway station, and a pier. The city stands on the picturesque shore of the Akhtar Bay and is famous as a climatic resort. It is famous for its healing hydrogen sulfide waters and healing mud. Primorsko-Akhtarsk is surrounded by salty estuaries. The air here is always clean, and the sea already warms up to twenty-four degrees in May; by August, the sea water temperature reaches thirty degrees. The sea is shallow, and the water is rich in iodine. The only problem for visitors is the constantly high humidity.

It is worth mentioning that holidays on the Azov Sea are possible in small but numerous villages of the Rostov region. This is the most economical option for a beach holiday, as both housing and food are cheap here. Rostovites often vacation in the village of Krugloye, which stretches along the coast of the Taganrog Bay. Here you can rent accommodation on the seashore very cheaply. Of course, the infrastructure is zero, and the beaches are unequipped, which, in fact, explains the cost-effectiveness of the holiday. The village of Stefanidinodar also offers vacationers inexpensive accommodation options and “wild” beaches on the shores of the warm Azov Sea. Surfers and kite surfers like to come to the village of Pavlo-Ochakovo, which is located at the very base of the sand spit of the same name. There are boarding houses and recreation centers here. The village of Semibalki is famous for its shallow coastline and uncrowded beaches, as well as modest prices for housing and food. There are equipped camping sites here. The village of Margaritovo is an excellent option for a quiet and economical holiday on the Sea of Azov, especially among travelers with personal vehicles. The village of Chumbur-Kosa is famous for its excellent sandy beaches, a lot of private accommodation options at budget prices. There is a recreation center "Brigantina" and a lot of small hotels here.

Resorts on the Sea of Azov in Crimea– attract tourists with the gentle sun, clear turquoise sea, treatment with healing silt mud of Lake Chokrak and waters from mineral springs, clean sea air, saturated with iodine and stunning aromas of steppe herbs and flowers.

Resort Shchelkino- a small town on the Crimean Peninsula on the shores of the Azov Sea, a great place for a family holiday with children. The resort is located near the Kazantip nature reserve, seventy-five kilometers from the city of Kerch.

Beaches of the resort Shchelkino. There are two main beaches: “Central” and “Tatarka”. The “Central” beach has everything you need for entertainment and active recreation: restaurants, cafes, bars, rental of sun loungers, umbrellas, hammocks. The entrance is free. The length of the beach is three and a half kilometers, its width is twenty meters. In some places the beach is shallow, and in others there is great depth immediately from the shore. Tatarka Beach is located a half-hour leisurely walk from the center of Shchelkino, it stretches for twenty-five kilometers, there are several cafes and beach activities. It is always quite sparsely populated. There is a shallow sea here, and the shore is sandy with small shells.

Kurortnoye village– is located four kilometers from Lake Chokrak. People most often come here not for a beach holiday at sea, but for recovery. The mud of the lake successfully treats rheumatism, arthrosis, joint and skin problems, and respiratory diseases. The beaches in the village of Kurortnoye are not well-maintained and “wild”, and surprisingly sparsely populated.

Yurkino village– is located seventeen kilometers from the city of Kerch; tourists often come here to relax in their own vehicles to spend a budget vacation on the shores of the Azov Sea. Housing here can be found in the private sector for ridiculous money, but you can’t count on any entertainment or restaurants. But from the village it’s a short bus ride to Kerch, where you can take advantage of all the advantages of a large city.

Resorts of the Azov Sea of Russia- this is an excellent option for a holiday with children, since the sea is shallow and warm, and the beaches are mostly sandy, and the prices, in comparison with holidays at the Black Sea resorts of Russia, are very economical.

Last time we talked about where you can relax on the Black Sea coast in Russia.
Today we will look at the most popular vacation spots on the Sea of Azov, which is located in the southeast of Ukraine and southwest Russia. For obvious reasons, we will not consider the Ukrainian coast, but we will study the Russian side in more detail.

Let's start with the fact that Azov is the shallowest sea in the world. This means that the water here warms up much faster, which allows you to start the swimming season much earlier than in the Black Sea resorts.

The seashores here are mostly flat and sandy, the entrance to the water is long and flat. The Sea of Azov is often chosen by families with small children or those who do not like noisy port cities.

When choosing a vacation spot, consider the political situation. If just a year ago Yeysk was one of the most popular resort towns in Azov, then this year, due to its proximity to Rostov-on-Don, a large influx of vacationers is not expected here. For the same reason, the outflow of tourists will most likely occur in the Neklinovsky district and the Azov region.

To get to the Sea of Azov from Yekaterinburg you need to travel 2,600 kilometers. Near the main resorts there are two large airports - Anapa Vityazevo and Krasnodar Pashkovsky. There are also trains.

Shcherbinovsky district

Shabelskoe

The northernmost resort village on the Azov coast of Kuban, however, there are no fewer sunny days a year here than in the south of the Krasnodar Territory.

The village is located on the coast of the Azov Sea (the southern shore of the Taganrog Bay) near Cape Sazalnik and the salt lake Dolgoye. About 2,500 people live in the village. There are not many tourists even in the summer months. This is primarily due to the fact that there is practically no recreational infrastructure here. If the lack of coastal cafes and discos does not bother you, then nature and the sea will clearly delight lovers of solitude.

Glazing

Glafirovka is another small village in the Shcherbinovsky district. The beach, just like in Shabelskoye, is sand and shell. To the south of the village stretches the 6.6-kilometer Glafirovskaya Spit, which separates the Yeisk Estuary from the Taganrog Bay.
Here, by mid-May, the water in the sea warms up to 27 degrees, and in June-August on some days - up to 30-33 degrees. The swimming season lasts until mid-September.

In Glafirovka it is always clear and sunny; in summer there is almost no rain. The village is quite small, but completely paved. Housing is inexpensive, but the choice is limited. Quiet, calm and very green.

Primorsko-Akhtarsky district

This area is famous for its healing waters and mud. Therefore, here you can plan not just a vacation on the coast, but also treatment in one of the sanatoriums.

This area is also known for its winds, which create special conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. And, perhaps, this is the only area in which hunting and fishing are developed for tourists.

Primorosko-Akhtarsk

Primorosko-Akhtarsk is a small coastal town with a population of more than 30 thousand people. It is surrounded by estuaries, healing mud springs and lakes.

This corner of Kuban attracts with its open spaces. In addition to three well-maintained municipal beaches, you can also find some completely wild ones here. Almost everywhere the sea deepens gradually, the bottom is small pebbles.
This city is one of the few where almost everyone can find entertainment to their liking. Night bars and restaurants, city beaches are equipped with trampolines, children's pools and sports grounds. Sandy and small-pebble beaches also attract the attention of vacationers. That's why it's never empty here.

Yasensky car camping

There is another type of holiday in Azov. People often travel like savages in their cars. Therefore, a car camping was organized near Akhtarsk.

It is designed for 197 cars and 197 tent places. Visitors are offered comfortable bungalows, solariums, a bar, a kitchen, children's and sports grounds, water attractions and other conditions for a favorable holiday.

Achuevskaya Spit

You can get here by dirt road or by motor boat, so there are practically no vacationers here. Secluded sandy beaches and pristine nature for true romantics. Here it is customary to pitch a tent, fish and have conversations with the sky and sea. Nudists also like to relax here.

You can get to the Primorsko-Akhtarsky district by car or by bus. It is also possible to travel by train to the villages of Kanevskaya or Bryukhovetskaya, as well as to the city of Timashevsk, and from there by bus or taxi.

Yeisk district

Yeisk district is located in the north-west of the Krasnodar region, between the two capitals of the North Caucasus region: Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don.

As mentioned above, many will be afraid to travel to this area this coming summer due to its proximity to Rostov-on-Don. Therefore, all the gorgeous beaches and developed infrastructure can be quite attractive for those who do not like crowds of people. Well, most likely, no one will raise the prices. Although, who knows.

Shell and sandy beaches, estuaries and spits, freshwater lakes, shallow and warm sea - all this is the Yeisk region.

The main resort areas of the Yeisk region are: Yeisk Spit (city of Yeisk), Dolgaya Spit (stanitsa Dolzhanskaya), Kamyshevatskaya Spit (stanitsa Kamyshevatskaya), as well as the sea coast near the village of Yasenskaya Pereprava.

Yeysk is a large resort town on the Azov coast, which was founded at the end of the 19th century. If you fundamentally do not like children, then it is better to avoid holidays in Yeysk. Because Russian mothers consider it their duty to take their children here. In general, the Sea of Azov is very popular with families with small children. Because it’s sand, because it’s shallow, because it warms up well. Yeisk is no exception. Among other things, it is very green here: pears, apricots, cherry plums, apples, and cherries grow.

There is a lot of entertainment on the coast, both for children and adults: parks, an aquarium, various attractions.

Long braid

30 kilometers from Yeisk there is one of the secluded places in Azov. There are no trains, no planes, and getting to the village of Dolzhanka is quite difficult. As a rule, those who come here in their own cars come here. Bikers gather here at the beginning of summer, and this place is famous among surfers who set up their tents here throughout the summer.

This place is almost wild. Several camp sites, a small number of houses - everything is located in the middle of the spit. There is almost no entertainment, and as a result, almost no tourists.

Attention! You should not swim at the edge of the spit due to the large number of whirlpools. Every year people drown in this place.

Kamyshevatskaya Spit

The village of Kamyshevatskaya is located 38 kilometers from Yeisk. Quiet, relaxing place for a family holiday.
In the village there is an estuary with natural healing mud. The beach is sandy and shell. There are minibuses and buses running to Yeisk, so if you get bored with a calm, measured holiday, you can always have fun in a large resort town.

Many local residents keep goats and cows, so you can always buy fresh, natural milk at the market.

Yasenskaya crossing

It is famous for the fact that it has the lowest prices for accommodation among the resort villages of the Azov coast, perhaps due to the fact that there is absolutely no tourist infrastructure here. The beach is shell rock, the sea warms up to 32 degrees by August, the water is often cloudy due to the muddy bottom.
Every May, the Yasenmai kite surfing festival takes place here.

Slavyansky district

The resort area of the Slavyansky region stretches for 45 kilometers of the Azov coast. In addition to traditional holidays by the sea, sailing, kayaking on the Kuban and Protoka rivers and regular hiking along the river banks are popular here.

Achuevo

Another small village of the Azov Sea. The sea is shallow; to swim you need to walk 150-200 meters. Usually everyone relaxes at the Oasis beach camping site, which is equipped with shady awnings, and on the coast there is a cafe, parking, barbecues and a tent with souvenirs.

Achuevo is far from a resort, just a small village with a beach. If you are not pretentious and want to save money, then you can relax in Achuevo.

Temryuk district

An hour's drive from Anapa airport is the city of Temryuk, which is the largest city on the Taman Peninsula.

Behind it begins the so-called Azov Riviera. This is about 100 km of sandy beaches along the coast of the Azov Sea from Temryuk to the Kerch Strait. There are four resort villages there - Kuchugury, Peresyp, Golubitskaya and Ilyich.

Kuchugury

Kuchugury is a village in the Temryuk district, just 60 kilometers from Anapa airport.

About five years ago I personally had the opportunity to visit there, I think that nothing much has changed.

Until mid-June there were very few vacationers; it often happened that the beach remained completely empty until lunchtime. The coastal strip itself is sandy, the entrance to the sea is gentle. The sea is more like a lake; during the month of our stay there were waves a couple of times.

There are always more people closer to the center of the village, so if you like privacy, it is better to settle on the outskirts. In the center there is one large store, in scale it can be compared with the former Central grocery store on Lenin. There is a pharmacy and a pharmacy kiosk; if the required drug is not on sale, they bring it to order.

The market is also small, and like all markets on the coast, it works from early morning. In the private sector you can buy cherries, strawberries, and milk.

There are taxi drivers driving around the village who, for a hundred rubles, are ready to go to the store at any time of the day or night.

There is a small park with entertainment for children, and at night there are bars and open-air cafes next to the park.

The village is located 70 kilometers from Anapa on the Krasnodar-Kerch-Simferopol highway. It was located on both sides of the highway. One part of the village lives along the estuary, and the other along the sea. If you want to save on accommodation, then you should look for housing on the estuary side, it is cheaper there. You will have to walk across the road to the sea, and the whole journey will take 15-20 minutes.

Unlike Kuchugur or Golubitskaya, the tourism business here is just beginning to develop. Active construction is underway, there is practically no infrastructure.

The market is expensive, so if you have your own car, you can save a lot by driving only 15-20 kilometers in any direction, to the village of Za Rodinu or to the village of Akhtonizovskaya. Even on the highway, vegetables and fruits will cost half as much.

One of the advantages of this place is the Tizdar mud volcano, although, however, mud baths are almost everywhere on the Azov coast.

Golubitskaya

Stanitsa Golubitskaya is a popular and very popular place on the Azov Sea.
As soon as a crocodile farm, a water park, a dolphinarium, and exotic animal exhibitions appear in a review, we understand that life is in full swing here. Tourists must be entertained, tourists must be appeased, money must be extracted from tourists.

Do you know that we also have a crocodile farm in Yekaterinburg, but how often do you go there? But on vacation, don’t feed us bread, just let us look at the crocodiles.

Among other things, Golubitskaya has two markets, many bars and night discos. There is even a striptease, which is most likely a very exciting spectacle.

For lovers of healing mud, the Taman Peninsula is simply a godsend. Everywhere you look there is a mud volcano. So in Golubitskaya blue clay, even for money, even for free, I don’t want to smear it.

The beaches are sand and small shells, the entrance is gentle and long, in general, like everywhere else on the Sea of Azov.

Ilyich

The village of Ilyich is located on the shore of the Kerch Strait, a two-hour drive from Anapa airport.
Well, if you want to forget what civilization is, then this is the place for you. At ten o'clock in the evening the village simply dies out. There are no bars or restaurants here, just sea, sun and cheap fruit.

The lack of tourist flow also affects the shops. Only frozen foods are sold here; for fresh meat or fish, you will have to go to neighboring villages.

I think you have a question, why write about “Ilyich” at all, since there are no conditions for tourists there. I assure you, there is a reason, namely the gorgeous sandy beaches and privacy, which is so valued by lovers of wild holidays.

Taman is another village in the Temryuk region, located on the coast of the Taman Bay.

It is in Taman that the action of the eponymous part of M. Yu. Lermontov’s novel “A Hero of Our Time” takes place. Remember what he said about him? “Taman is the nastiest little town of all the coastal cities in Russia.”
In general, despite the fact that Taman is a fairly large city compared to the villages described above, it is a “hole”.

There are a couple of museums with a meager collection, discos on the shore, and several beaches. But the main disadvantage is the location.

A cargo sea port is being built nearby. Just a couple of years ago, an ammonia export terminal and a food additives plant were built. In the north of the bay, on the Chushka spit, there is the Kavkaz port with terminals for transshipment of chemicals and fertilizers, but despite this proximity there are always a lot of vacationers here.

Every year the largest motorcycle festival in the south of Russia is held in Taman, which attracts up to 10 thousand people. If you get here at this time without pre-booking accommodation, it will be extremely difficult to find a place to stay for the night.

Russia has access to the Sea of Azov and has long established a holiday destination for the whole family on its coast. Here you can find recreation centers and boarding houses with all kinds of accommodation conditions.

The basics of relaxation on the Sea of Azov

The Sea of Azov is less deep than the Black Sea, so the water in it warms up much faster.

The beaches here are mostly sandy and surprisingly clean. This is due to the natural system of sand purification, when sea water floods the beaches in autumn and winter and thus washes the sand. The map of the Azov Sea is replete with resort towns and villages. The resorts of the Azov Sea in Russia offer a full range of services even for the most demanding clients.

Cities on the Azov Sea Russia

Stanitsa Golubitskaya- located on the Taman Peninsula. This is a very small village, but on its territory there are deciduous and fruit gardens, kilometers of vineyards. There is also a dolphinarium, a windsurfing club and a paragliding center. You can stay here in boarding houses, the private sector and small houses on the beach itself.

Stanitsa Dolzhanskaya located on the Dolgovaya Spit, not far from Yeisk. Dolzhanskaya is a natural reserve; there are no entertainment complexes on its territory. The village of Kuchugury and Peresyp They are distinguished by wonderful sandy beaches and small and cozy seaside houses. Very close to them are the Lotus Valley and Blue Beam Lake; visiting them will diversify your leisure time.
