Paradise beach india. paradise beach in india

They call it Paradise Beach, although in fact it is already located in the neighboring Indian state of Maharashtra. And you can get to it from Arambol in just 20-30 minutes - 15 km of travel. This beach is ideal in every sense: clear blue sea, crisp sand, pine forest, few people. Of course, now this beach has become popular, and there are more people here, but compared to other beaches in North Goa, Paradise Beach is a big winner.

As a rule, visiting it is combined with a tour of the Redi fort (we wrote about it in the article about). And sometimes tourists confuse the beaches and call the beach that is located right next to the Redi Fort Paradise as Paradise.

"Wrong" Paradise, near Ready Fort

Also “wrong” Paradise

“The same” Paradise looks like this

In fact, Paradise is separated from Redi beach by a river, and to get there to Paradise Beach from Ready Fort you need to drive about 8 km more:

Now hotels and bungalows have been built at the entrance to the beach, there are even hotel signs in Russian: the beach is no longer secluded. At the parking lot near the beach there are local vendors with everything you need: corn, juices and waters, omelettes, souvenirs...

The Indians themselves are relaxing on the beach, playing cricket passionately and loudly:

We were surprised to see a camel (and more than one) on the beach: everyone is used to Indian elephants, but here there is an Indian camel, interesting! But camels are here, of course, for a reason. Enterprising Indians bring them here for skiing that is not free. It's worth all the pleasure 300 rupees.

There is nowhere in India without cows

The beach is impressively long. If you walk from the pines to the right, you can sunbathe in complete solitude. There are a lot of beautiful shells on this beach.

Paradise Beach: how to get there

From Arambol to Paradise it is only 15 km. First you need to get to the Terekhol River and cross it. Previously, this could only be done by ferry, which transported people and vehicles from one side to the other according to a schedule. But in 2013, an excellent bridge was built across Terekhol, and the path to Paradise became much easier.

Previously, it was possible to cross only on such a ferry

After the bridge there is the border between the states of Goa and Maharashtra. It is marked by a booth with a police officer and a barrier. We went to Paradise Beach twice, and not once did the policeman take an interest in us.

Have you been to Goa and missed out on Paradise Beach? An unforgivable oversight! The famous Paradise Beach is not located in Goa, but in the neighboring state of Maharashtra. But many Goan travelers and tourists make a visit to Paradise a must. You can get to it easily and quickly, especially if you live in the north of Goa, and the beach itself is very beautiful and unusual.

Deserted Paradise Beach

What is so unusual and attractive about Paradise Beach?

  • There are pine trees growing on the shore, mixed with palm trees.
  • The sand there is light and very fine, it is dense and smooth at the very edge of the water and you can easily ride a bike along the sea
  • There are few people there, especially on weekdays, and you can find a place to sunbathe and swim naked

Now on the beach, if you move to the left of the center, bungalows and shekis have been built. If you want to stay in a paradise for longer, you can rent housing for a couple of nights.

How to get to Paradise Beach

If you are on a bike, ride after Arambol along the main road to the bridge over the Terakol River. The bridge is new, wide and safe. After crossing the river you will find yourself in the state of Maharashtra.

I advise you to combine a trip to Paradise Beach with a visit to Redi Fort and Terakol Fort. There are forts near the beach; these are local Goan attractions, which in general are not that many, so you should not neglect them.

The pearl of beach Maharashtra, Paradise Beach has a lot to offer. Firstly, it is very beautiful there: palm thickets alternate with pine groves, and the sand is very light, thanks to which the already clear water becomes literally crystalline. Secondly, relative solitude (with the exception of aborigines on weekends and a handful of know-it-alls from the tourist fraternity). Finally, on the beach you can rent quite decent reed bungalows almost at the water's edge.

How to get there

Paradise Beach is located very close to Ready Fort, and a visit to it is often included in excursions to the fort and the surrounding area. Ready fort and the beach are separated by a river, which is easy to wade at low tide (waist-deep) or negotiate a crossing with fishermen who ply the river.

Redi Fort is located side by side with the most extreme resort of North Goa - Tiracol, which has still not been touched by civilization. A fort, now the Heritage Hotel, rises above the deserted beach.

Cuisine and restaurants

The infrastructure in Paradise Beach is absolutely undeveloped: there are no restaurants and bars as a class - so it is better to negotiate about food with the owners of rented bungalows and rooms (if you plan to stay on the beach for several days) or be content with the diet of local peasants - vegetables and fruits, which can be purchased on the market.

Paradise Beach Hotels

Paradise Beach offers several thatched bungalows for rent, as well as rooms in local residents' homes. Those who love comfort are better off staying at one of the neighboring resort hotels and making forays to the beach.

  • Where to stay: in luxury hotels, affordable hotels or budget guesthouses and bungalows on one of the resort’s 9 beaches - any tourist will certainly find accommodation here to suit their taste and budget. Resort entertainment will be found in the popular Anjuna and bustling Calangute. Those who speak exclusively Russian can safely go to Morjim. Those who love solitude have a direct route to Tiracol, Baga and Mandrem, and those who want both should settle in Sinquerim, Candolim or Arambol.
  • What to see: You should start getting acquainted with the nature of the island from the 300-meter waterfall Dudhsagar, and then go to the Selim Ali bird sanctuary. Cultural attractions - fort

Which is located in the neighboring state of Maharashtra is the deserted Paradise Beach.

Many rumors and stories about this place are greatly exaggerated, but still the beach is worthy of your attention. I would recommend combining a visit to this beach with other attractions in the neighborhood.

Near Paradise Beach there is an old, abandoned Redi fort, and is hiding right on the border with Goa little fort Tiracol.

How to get to Paradise Beach from Goa

However, there is no need to visit Redi Fort, because from Paradise you can wade (or cross by boat) to Redi Fort. This route can save both time and gas in the tank of your moped.

Features of Paradise Beach

Beautiful photographs and beautiful stories that can be found on the Internet talk about the desertedness and divinity of the beach, and there is partly a piece of truth in this. Once upon a time, everything was so, there were no tourists on Paradise at all, but everything is changing and the number of people on the once deserted beach is increasing every year. However, it is enough to move away from the place where vacationers gather (about two hundred meters) and you are like Robinson Crusoe.

Beautiful photographs of an ideal beach with blue water and bending palm trees are also not about Paradise Beach, there really is lighter water (mainly due to snow-white sand), but about palm trees this is pure fiction. The main vegetation on the beach is pine trees and bushes, such a surprise.

The desolation of the beach also loses its relevance every year; foreign tourists come here both independently and as part of excursions. Local tourists (Indians) come to Paradise Beach both from nearby villages and from afar. The tourism industry is gradually gaining momentum, there are already several catering outlets and some tourist entertainment (camel and horse riding). You can stay for a few days in the nearest village, where locals rent out rooms to tourists.

Despite all of the above, Paradise differs from most Goan beaches for the better, because of the crowds of tourists that exist in Calangute It’s not here, and it’s not expected to happen in the near future (I’d like to believe it). If you are going to go for the whole day, then take water and food with you, the catering points that are available here may not suit you.

Enjoy your trip and have a great holiday in Goa.
